Description

The invention relates to a carrier tape for women's underwear, in particular a carrier tape for bras in which the width of the longitudinal central region is enlarged compared to the widths of the carrier tape sections adjoining on both sides.

Carrier tapes of this type are known. In this context, mention should be made of US-A-4 640 317, which shows and describes a ribbon loom in which the distance of the warp threads can be changed over the length of the ribbon to be woven by means of a wedge-like weaving comb which is displaceably mounted in its plane. so that a tape with sections of different widths can be produced. The width of a fabric tape produced in this way can be changed by changing the structure, by omitting warp threads, by special weaving combs or by changing the thread tension of the weft thread, in order thereby to lay the warp threads more or less against one another. This publication leaves open what tapes of this type are to be used for.

  • daß es aus elastischen Kettfäden und dazu quer verlaufenden, eingewobenen Schußfäden besteht;
The invention now aims to provide a carrier tape for the last-mentioned purpose, namely and with conventional manufacturing methods on ribbon looms, and still form the carrier tape so that increased wearing comfort is achieved. The invention is characterized by the combination of the following features, namely
  • that it consists of elastic warp threads and woven wefts running transversely thereto;
  • that in the longitudinal central region (M) of the carrier tape the mutual spacing of the warp threads (K) is increased compared to the mutual spacing of the warp threads in the carrier tape sections (A, C) adjoining the longitudinal central region (M) and
  • that the number of weft threads per unit length (l) in the longitudinal central region (M) is greater than in the carrier tape sections (A, C) adjoining the longitudinal central region (M),
  • wherein the number of weft threads per unit length (l) in the longitudinal center region (M) is approximately 50% greater than the number of weft threads per unit length (l) in the carrier tape sections (A, C) adjoining the longitudinal center region (M).

Thanks to the proposal according to the invention, it is possible to produce such carrier tapes for high wearing comfort for women's underwear according to conventional technologies on existing ribbon looms, although the tapes consist partly of elastic threads.

Die Zeichnung veranschaulicht schematisch die Erfindung.The drawing schematically illustrates the invention.

The drawing shows a top view of the carrier tape spread out in the plane of length L with a longitudinal center section M and the two adjoining carrier tape sections A and C. As can be seen from this illustration, the width B of the longitudinal center region M of the carrier tape is opposite to the widths b on both sides adjoining carrier tape sections A, C are enlarged. The warp threads K, which are only indicated schematically, are elastically deformable. The elasticity of these warp threads K can result from the material from which they are made or from the special nature of the threads themselves longitudinal warp threads K weft threads, not shown, are entered in a weave. From the schematic illustration it can be seen that in the longitudinal central region M of the carrier tape the mutual distance of the warp threads K is increased compared to the mutual distance of the warp threads in the carrier tape sections A, C adjoining the longitudinal central region M. The number of weft threads per unit length l is greater in the longitudinal central region M than in the carrier tape sections A, C adjoining the longitudinal central region M, in particular approximately 50% larger. The ratio of the total length L of the carrier tape to the length of the widened longitudinal central area M is approximately 3.5. The ratio of the width B of the longitudinal central region M to the width b of the adjoining carrier tape sections A, C is approximately 1.2. The lengths of the two carrier tape sections A, C adjoining the widened longitudinal central area M are of different sizes.

Thanks to the measure according to the invention, a carrier tape is created which widens in the contact area (shoulder) so that the contact area is enlarged, but the elasticity of the tape has been retained to the same extent in practically all sections.
