- A door handle according to claim 1, characterized in that the cylindrical body (7a) of the dashpot (7) is completely air-tight, the outside diameter of the piston (7c) being slightly smaller than the inside diameter of the cylindrical body (7a), the piston having a circular groove (7d) formed therein defined by first and second disks (7e, 7f) one of which is pierced by slots or notches (7g) to enable said groove to communicate with one of the faces of the piston (7c), said groove receiving an O-ring (8) disposed so that during handling of the tilting control plate (4) it is pushed back against the above-mentioned second disk (7f) in order to disengage the slots or notches (7g) and allow air to pass freely, whereas during the return stroke of the tilting control plate (4) towards its rest position, said O-ring (8) is urged against the first disk (7e) to slow down the flow of air inside the dashpot.
