Definitions
- the invention relates to an eccentric disc grinder according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a generic eccentric disc grinder is known from DE-OS 36 25 655. Its grinding plate is driven by a motor. The rotation of the motor is converted via an angular gear on a shaft carrying an eccentric pin into the working movement, which is composed of a rotary movement and a circular movement of the grinding plate.
- the double-bearing shaft rotatably carries an eccentric pin at its free end. This is arranged with an eccentricity "e” rotatable to the shaft on the shaft in two roller bearings.
- the eccentric pin is non-rotatably coupled to the grinding plate and, together with the eccentricity "e", circles around the axis of the shaft and rotates with the shaft as a result of the bearing friction.
- the bearings between the eccentric shaft and the shaft are exposed to high, non-uniform loads. This leads to strong heat development and wear, if there is not exceptionally intensive heat dissipation, for example by means of a cooling fan.
- the eccentric disc grinder according to the invention with the characterizing features of claim 1, in contrast, has the advantage of significantly lower heat development, as a result of lower wear, lower weight and vibrations and lower manufacturing costs, because the axial and radial forces are separated and absorbed by two different bearings.
- FIG. 1 shows a sectional illustration of an eccentric disc grinder according to the invention
- FIG. 2 shows a further exemplary embodiment of an eccentric disc grinder
- FIG. 3 shows a further developed exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2.
- the eccentric disc grinder 1 shown in Figure 1 has a motor housing 2 on which an electrical connection cable 3 and an on and off switch 4 are arranged.
- An angle drive housing 5 is flanged to the motor housing 2 and contains an angle drive 7 which is operatively connected to a grinding plate 6.
- the angular drive 7 consists of a small bevel gear 8 which sits on a motor shaft (not shown) and transmits the motor movement to a large bevel gear 9.
- the bevel gear 9 concentrically encompasses a shaft 11 that is rotatable about an axis of rotation 10.
- the shaft 11 is mounted in bearings 12, 13 in the angular drive housing 5 in a region facing the grinding plate and in a region facing away from the grinding plate.
- the shaft 11 carries a fan 14.
- the fan 14 is used for dust extraction and storage cooling and at the same time as a mass balance. It is made of light material, especially plastic with low thermal conductivity.
- the fan 14 has on the side facing away from the shaft 11 from the axis of rotation 10 Eccentric bore 15.
- In the bore 15 there is an eccentric pin 16 with an axis 17.
- the axis 17 runs parallel to the axis of rotation 10 and is spaced apart with the eccentricity "e”.
- the eccentric pin 16 is guided concentrically to the axis 17 in an upper, axial fixed bearing 18 designed as a ball bearing and in a lower needle bearing 19 which only absorbs radial forces.
- the grinding plate 6 is screwed onto the eccentric pin 16 via a bolt 20.
- the grinding plate 6 is provided with regularly distributed recesses 22 through which grinding dust can be extracted from the workpiece via a pipe socket 21 by means of the fan 14 or an external blower (not shown).

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an eccentric disc grinder according to the preamble of claim 1.
A generic eccentric disc grinder is known from DE-OS 36 25 655. Its grinding plate is driven by a motor. The rotation of the motor is converted via an angular gear on a shaft carrying an eccentric pin into the working movement, which is composed of a rotary movement and a circular movement of the grinding plate. The double-bearing shaft rotatably carries an eccentric pin at its free end. This is arranged with an eccentricity "e" rotatable to the shaft on the shaft in two roller bearings. The eccentric pin is non-rotatably coupled to the grinding plate and, together with the eccentricity "e", circles around the axis of the shaft and rotates with the shaft as a result of the bearing friction.
The bearings between the eccentric shaft and the shaft are exposed to high, non-uniform loads. This leads to strong heat development and wear, if there is not exceptionally intensive heat dissipation, for example by means of a cooling fan.
The cooling of the bearings in air containing abrasive agents, typical of grinding machines, requires particularly expensive seals of the bearings, which are constructed more simply for ball bearings than for roller bearings.
Because of the required good heat dissipation, metal fans that are heavier than plastic fans and require stronger bearings than these must be used.
Although the output shafts of vibration-free handheld power tools with low abrasive dust, such as drills and jigsaws, are stored in radial-axial bearing pairs, with the radial bearings being arranged on the side facing the tool, this solution could not be transferred to eccentric disc grinders. The bearing calculations for eccentric disc grinders resulted in only rough approximation solutions due to the complicated movement overlaps and the unbalance. The actual bearing forces could only be determined with great effort in terms of experimentation. Only that finally allowed the bearing arrangement according to the invention.
Due to the over-cautious bearing calculations, mostly oversized axial-radial ball bearings have been used so far, although roller or needle bearings are known to be significantly cheaper than ball bearings. This made the known devices unnecessarily expensive.
The eccentric disc grinder according to the invention with the characterizing features of claim 1, in contrast, has the advantage of significantly lower heat development, as a result of lower wear, lower weight and vibrations and lower manufacturing costs, because the axial and radial forces are separated and absorbed by two different bearings.
Further advantageous embodiments of the invention result from the claims following claim 1.
