Bei der Schrumpftechnologie hat der aufgespannte Seitenfaltenschlauch bzw. die aus ihm gebildete Haube ein Übermaß in Relation zur Querschnittsfläche des zu umhüllenden Stückgutes und legt sich nach einer Wärmebeaufschlagung und entsprechender Schrumpfung fest an das zu umhüllende Stückgut an, während er bei der Stretchtechnologie im geöffneten Zustand ein Untermaß in Relation zur Querschnittsfläche des zu umhüllenden Stückgutes besitzt, demgemäß vor dem Überziehen (wenigstens) in Horizontalrichtung gedehnt ("gestretcht") und mit gedehntem Übermaß über das zu umhüllende Stückgut gezogen wird. Wird der Schlauch/die Haube danach losgelassen, so legt sich die Stretchfolienhaube aufgrund der Dehnung an das zu umhüllende Stückgut an.Thereby i. a. Vielmehr stehen die Ränder bzw. Randabschnitte der aufgehaspelten Folienlagen nach innen oder außen über die geometrische Ideal-Stirnfläche vor. Diese Aufgabe wird durch Anspruch 1 gelöst. Bisher ist man im Stand der Technik davon ausgegangen, daß eine Zwangsführung einer derartigen Folie, die von einem - wie ausgeführt - unregelmäßig aufgehaspelten Vorrat abgespult wird, nicht möglich sei, weil sich auf eine derartige Folie, deren Dicke i. a. nur einen Bruchteil eines Millimeters beträgt, keine Zwangsführungskräfte ausüben lassen. Überraschenderweise hat sich jedoch gezeigt, daß diese Auffassung selbst dann auf einem Irrtum beruht, wenn die von der Vorratsrolle zugeführte Folie nicht oder nur geringfügig gespannt ist, und daß es bei der erfindungsgemäß vorgesehenen Zwangsführung nicht zu einer Umbördelung (oder gar Beschädigung) der Folienlängsränder kommt.This object is solved by claim 1.
