In some cases the above-mentioned compression plate is also used when the container is to be emptied; the compression plate is then used for pushing the refuse back towards the rear end of the container after the latter has been opened at the rear end.
- the collecting container for refuse may be mounted in such a way that it can be tipped round a transverse axis, so that the refuse slides towards and out through the rear end of the container after the latter has been opened.
- a common feature of known refuse collection vehicles with loading hoppers is that the refuse is loaded through a back section hinged on the collecting container.
- This back section which makes the refuse collection vehicle more expensive and complicated, contains a mechanism which presses the refuse into the collecting container towards its front end.

- Such refuse collection vehicles are, however, inexpedient, especially for traffic reasons, because the unit which is to move waste bins or waste containers from a position in front of the driver's cab up over the latter to the loading opening necessarily increases the width of the vehicle or presupposes a specially built (narrow) driver's cab.
- the purpose of the present invention is to specify a refuse collection vehicle which combines the advantages of the two main types of refuse collection vehicles, but does not show the above-mentioned disadvantages.
- the container may be rotated about 180°, and this will not enlarge the dimensions of the vehicle in the end positions of said turning movement.
- the back wall of the collecting container can fit absolutely tightly to the bottom and side walls of the container, although it is possible to lift refuse in e.g. waste bins or waste containers, placed at the rear end of the refuse collection vehicle, by means of a conventional lifting mechanism up to an opening, for example in the top side of the container, and then, after the refuse has been compressed against the front end of the collecting container, and the container has been rotated round the vertical axis in relation to the chassis, to discharge the refuse through a flap, which can be opened, but is otherwise tight-fitting, at the front end of the container.

Claims (7)
- Véhicule de collecte de déchets ayant un conteneur de collecte de déchets (3) placé sur le châssis (1), derrière la cabine (2) du conducteur, ledit conteneur (3) ayant une ouverture de chargement (4) placée dans la position de chargement usuelle, au niveau de l'extrémité la plus à l'arrière, une ouverture d'évacuation (6) au niveau de l'extrémité opposée et un système de compression conçu afin de compacter les déchets et de les décharger via l'ouverture d'évacuation (6), le conteneur (3) pouvant tourner, par rapport au châssis (1), autour d'un axe vertical (7), caractérisé en ce que l'axe de rotation (7) se trouve à mi-chemin entre l'avant et l'extrémité du conteneur (3).
- Véhicule de collecte de déchets selon la revendication 1, dans lequel l'axe de rotation (7) est un axe central du conteneur (3).
- Véhicule de collecte de déchets selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 et 2, dans lequel l'ouverture de chargement (4) se trouvant au niveau de l'extrémité la plus à l'arrière se trouve dans le toit.
- Véhicule de collecte de déchets selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 3, dans lequel l'ouverture d'évacuation au niveau de l'extrémité avant est un volet à ajustement étanche (6).
- Véhicule de collecte de déchets selon la revendication 4, dans lequel le volet (6) est articulé en partie supérieure.
- Véhicule de collecte de déchets selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 5, dans lequel le système de compression comprend une plaque de compression (5) essentiellement verticale, déplaçable vers l'arrière et vers l'avant, destinée à être placée entre les parois latérales verticales du conteneur de collecte (3).
- Véhicule de collecte de déchets selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 6, dans lequel le véhicule est un camion à cabine, monobloc, ayant deux essieux.
