Abstract

The window shutter (F), of single-leaf or two-leaf design, can be actuated from the inside by means of a crank and a worm gear (2) fastened to the outer wall. The shaft driven by the worm wheel is designed as a hinge pin and drives a pivot bearing (1) connected to the window shutter. The pivot bearing (1) is designed as a gear casing containing at least one gearwheel which is connected operatively to a horizontally extending rack (3) which, during the closing of the window shutter, is displaced a little in one direction and, during opening, is displaced a little in the opposite direction as far as a stop. By means of an intermediate gear, this horizontal displacement of the rack (3) is transmitted to a vertical linkage (4) which, when the opening movement is initiated, releases the spring-loaded bolts (5). This provides for the first time a window shutter which can be actuated from the inside and which, during closing, locks automatically and, during opening, releases this lock automatically. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a device for opening and closing a shutter from the interior. Such devices are known. DE-32'15'720 A proposes to actuate the pivot pin of the hinge from the interior by means of a toothed rack. DE-38'39'873 A specifies a device which allows two shutters to be closed or opened simultaneously from the interior. However, none of these devices has means for locking in the closed state, which are automatically released by the device when it is opened.

The invention has for its object to provide such a device that allows closing and opening of a shutter from the interior, locks the shutter when closing on the window frame and automatically releases this lock when opening.

Another object of the invention is to design the device so that it can close, open and lock a two-leaf shutter, the initiation of the opening movement also releasing the lock here.

In Figure 1, a single-leaf shutter with its opening and closing device is shown in simplified form. In this figure, W is a wall between the interior and the outside of the building. A worm gear 2, which is fastened to the outside of the wall and drives a pivot bearing 1 connected to the shutter F, is driven by means of a crank fitted in the interior and a shaft penetrating the wall. The pivot bearing 1 is designed as a gear housing, which is connected to a rack 3. When the closed shutter is opened, the rack 3 moves a little and releases the spring-loaded latch 5 via an intermediate gear and a vertical linkage 4 shown in FIGS. 5 and 6. The lower bearing 6 is as normal with a hinge fastened to the wall Cones formed. The above description applies to the simple shutter F₁. It should be clear that both opening and closing of the shop only begins after the horizontal rack has found a stop. In a simple window shutter, such a stop is attached to the end of the horizontal rack 3 in the frame of the window frame F (see FIG. 3).

In a two-leaf window frame with the wings F₁ and F₂, the stop in the frame wing F₁ falls away and the horizontal rack 3 extends into the joint 7, which connects the two wings. The joint 7 comprises two housing parts and a common pinion, which is both with the extension 3 'of the horizontal rack 3 of the wing F₁, as with the horizontal rack 3''of the wing F₂ in operative connection (see Figures 7 and 8). The stop for the displacement movement of the two racks 3 'and 3''is now at the end of the rack 3''in the frame of the wing F₂.

This technically tricky solution now allows a double-leaf shutter F₁ + F₂ to be closed and at the same time to release the locking of the spring-loaded bolt 5 that automatically snaps when closed.

This is shown schematically in FIGS. 2A to C. It is a horizontal section through the wall W and the window opening. Fixed hooks 5 '' and 5 '''are attached to the window ledge. Figure 2A shows the fully open two-leaf shutter, the two wings F₁ and F₂ are first pivoted together by 180 ° in the position shown in Figure 2B, the latch 5 of the wing F₁, snap into the hook 5 ''. With a continuation of the actuation, the second wing F₂ now pivots about the joint 7 and in the end position according to FIG. 2C, the latches 5 'of the wing F₂ also snap into the hooks 5'''.

When the shutter is opened, the bolts are first released and then the two sashes are opened in reverse order.

With reference to Figures 3 to 6, the design of a single-leaf shutter is first described in more detail. FIG. 3 shows a horizontal section through the frame made of wood of a simple shutter F at the level of the rack 3. In FIG. 3, the pivot bearing 1 is only shown in outline. It contains a gearwheel 11, which is provided with a central, continuous hexagon bore into which a hexagon pivot pin 21 driven by the worm gear 2 engages. The gear 11 is in engagement with the toothing of the rack 3. The housing of the pivot bearing 1 is connected to a metallic insert 14, in which the rack 3 and its extension penetrating the frame of the shutter are slidably guided. The extension consists of a square or hexagonal slider 31 and a connecting rod 32. The connecting rod 32 is freely guided in a hole in the wood, while the slider 31 is slidably guided in metallic bushings. These metallic cans are indicated in the drawing by thick lines.

Auf ähnliche Weise betätigt Schieber 40' mit Hilfe einer Stange 44 einen weiteren Schieber 40'', welcher den unteren Riegel 5 betätigt.FIGS. 5 and 6 show the individual parts of the vertical linkage 4, which releases the spring-loaded latch 5 from the fixed hooks 5 ″ when the opening movement is initiated. The entire linkage 4 is actuated by a slide 31 ', which forms part of the extension of the horizontal rack. For this purpose, this slide 31 'is provided with a slot 35 into which narrow, beveled end parts 41 of two slides 40, 40' engage, as can be seen in FIGS. 5 and 6. If the horizontal slide 31 'moves to the left, the slides 40, 40' are pushed upwards or downwards, respectively, actuating the bolts 5. The upper slide 40 moves upward against the force of the spring 42. A bore 43 is made in the slide 40, into which one end of the bolt 5 engages. The bolt 5 itself is pivotally mounted in a housing 51. In a similar manner, slide 40 ′ actuates a further slide 40 ″ with the aid of a rod 44, which operates the lower bolt 5.

If this one-piece window frame F is now to be brought from the open state into the closed state, the crank is rotated accordingly and the worm gear 2 engages in the bearing housing 1 with its hexagonal bearing pin 21. The gear 11 is rotated a little and moves the rack 3 a little to the right until it finds a stop on the spring 33 and screw 34 (Figure 3).

When the rack has found the stop, gear 11 is held in the housing in a rotationally fixed manner and a further rotation of the hexagonal bearing pivot causes the shutter F to pivot into its closed position. The spring-loaded bolts 5 automatically snap behind the fixed hooks 5 ″ arranged in the window ledge. The shutter is now closed and locked.
When opening the shutter, the movement takes place in the opposite direction. The hexagonal bearing pin 21 actuated by the worm gear 2 rotates the gear 11 a little in the opposite direction, which moves the rack 3 a little to the left. The intermediate gear 31 ', 35, 40-44 now comes into operation, actuates the vertical linkage 4 (FIGS. 5 and 6) and releases the latch 5. At the end of the displacement movement of the toothed rack, the pin 39 fitted in the slide 31 finds a stop in a slot made in the metallic sleeve and further rotation of the journal 21 causes the shutter to open.
If the shutter is of two-leaf design, as shown in FIG. 2, the two shutters can be closed one after the other by a trick and the lock can be released when the shutter is opened.
The directly driven by the worm gear 2 wing F₁ is connected via the joint 7 shown in Figures 7 and 8 in detail with the wing F₂. The hinge consists essentially of two housings 70 and 71, in which the ends of the horizontal racks 3 'and 3''are guided. As can be seen in FIG. 2, these are at different levels. The toothing of the two racks 3 ', 3''are in engagement with a pinion 72 mounted in both housings 70 and 71. The horizontal displacement movement of the racks 3 in the wing F 1 which is initiated when the wing F 1 is actuated is thereby continued in the wing F 2. This horizontal displacement movement can be implemented in the same way, as described with reference to Figures 5 and 6, in both wings F₁ and F₂ in a vertically directed displacement movement, with the help of which the spring-loaded latch 5 are released when opening is initiated.
In the two-leaf version, certain parts are designed a little differently, as described below.

Figure 4 shows part of the shutter F₁ with the swivel bracket 1 '. The housing of this pivot bearing contains, instead of a driven gear 11, two further gears 12, 13, of which the latter meshes with the rack 3. As shown in FIG. 2, this creates a greater distance from the wall W when the shutter is open. The insert 14 contains an additional hole in which a spring 16 and a screw 15 are attached, with the aid of which the displacement force of the rack can be braked in an adjustable manner. So that the friction can be set so that when initiating the closing movement first both wings F₁ and F₂ are moved together, as shown in Figure 2B.

The end stop in the wing F₂ is, as shown in the right part of Figure 3, executed. The end stop in the wing F 1, however, is designed differently. Here, the rod 32 slidably passes through a ring 36 while the ring 38 is attached to the rod. A spring 37 is located between these two rings. As a result, the end stop on opening is no longer rigid. When opening the two-leaf shutter, the bolt 5 of the wing F₂ are first released, after which it pivots to the still closed wing F₁. Only then are the bolts of the wing F 1 released and then both wings F 1 and F 2 pressed together up to the wall W.

The worm gear 2 is shown in FIGS. 9 and 10. It includes a safety clutch that slips when the gearbox is heavily overloaded. The clutch is mounted between the worm wheel 20 and the hexagon journal 21. These two parts 20, 21 are coupled to one another via a shallow radial toothing 22, which are pressed against one another by a stack of disc springs 23. With the help of screw 24, the preload can be adjusted.
