- This process consists in reacting methanesulfonic acid on a barium salt, then in reacting the barium methanesulfonate obtained with chromium sulfate and in removing the precipitate by filtration in order to isolate the chromium methanesulfonate in solution.
- This process can be carried out at room temperature and at atmospheric pressure. When precipitating, barium sulfate shifts the balance and leads to chromium methanesulfonate without any special precautions.
