Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a hair barrette frame of the so-called "ponytail” type.
  • the clasp of the prior art has the particularity of having an element of pressure to enclose a tuft of hair, consisting of two separate curvilinear pressure blades overlapping at their free end to define an overlap area.
  • the advantage of this type of clasp is to ensure a practically symmetrical maintenance of the tuft of hair.
  • the present invention aims to overcome all of these drawbacks.
  • a hair clip frame of the kind comprising a generally curved sole and a clasp articulated at one end of the sole and which can be immobilized at the other end, said clasp comprising an outer blade and, opposite of the sole, a pressure element constituted by a first curvilinear pressure blade and a second curvilinear pressure blade reproducing together the shape of the sole and comprising overlapping end portions and thus defining an overlap zone, the two pressure blades being movable longitudinally relative to one another, characterized in that there is provided in said overlap zone a connection between said blades pressure so that they form a continuous loop opposite said sole.
  • connection between the two pressure blades is ensured by a return arranged at the end of one of the blades and which has a passage for the other blade.
  • one of the blades has a transverse zone which is able to cooperate with a support element of the sole so as to ensure the function of return spring for the automatic opening of the clasp.
  • the passage between the two blades in the overlap area is limited. This solves both the problem of entanglement of the bars in one another during their manufacture, but also the problem of hair trapped between the two blades in the overlap zone.
  • the bar with the frame according to the invention is more easily placed in the hair, it is above all easily readjustable.
  • the frame according to the invention also allows a better distribution of the hair between the pressure element and the sole, and the bar no longer tends to be crooked.
  • a barrette frame of the type called "ponytail” comprises in a manner known per se a sole 10, for example of generally semi-round shape, constituted with a middle rib stiffening 11, extending between two support elements 12 and 13 separated by slots from the rest of the strip and curved to project from the radially inner side of the sole.
  • Punctures 14A and 14B formed on the external side of each support element 12, 13 are used for the usual fixing on the external face of the sole of any lining 15.
  • the sole 10 comprises on either side of the punctured 14A, a pair of lateral articulation tabs 16 framing an end portion 17.
  • the legs 18 comprise, by folding at a right angle, two arms 21 directed towards one another and partially overlapping with two locking hooks 22. They finally have, at their rounded and slightly divergent ends, imprints 23 forming projecting buttons on the outside.
  • the articulation tabs 16 are formed on their side with stiffening ribs 26 and comprise at their rounded end a perforation 27 forming a bearing for pins 28 which constitute the axis of articulation for the clasp which will now be described.
  • This clasp designated by the reference 30 is formed from a strip of elastic material extending on either side of an articulation zone 29 defined by the pins 28.
  • the clasp forms an external blade 50 ending in a latch 31 with a hooking light 32 surmounted by a cover plate 33 cut and stamped, and ending in a terminal tongue operating 34.
  • the material constituting the clasp is cut to form a pressure blade 35 folded substantially at right angles to the internal face of the clasp which is turned towards the sole and following the rooting zone 36 thus formed, it is bent according to a circular profile extending over a quarter of a circle. It will be noted that the rooting zone 36 is located in the immediate vicinity of the lock 31.
  • the blade 35 ends in a portion 40 narrowed longitudinally.
  • a deformation zone 41 forming a ramp with a protruding part 51 remote from the free edge of the blade, directed towards the sole 10, and the edge of which is capable of serve as a stop.
  • the strip of elastic material forming the clasp 30 continues by forming an acute angle with the adjacent part of the clasp in a circular arc path in a second strip of pressure 37 partially covering the pressure blade 35.
  • This second blade 37 ends with a return 42 formed by folding inward the clasp almost at right angles to the free end of the blade and which in turn ends with two hooks 43, one facing the 'other. These two hooks partially close a passage 44 for the blade 35 arranged in the return 42.
  • the dimensions of the passage 44 are provided so that the blade 35 can be engaged and guided with lateral and transverse play.
  • the return 42 comprises, opposite the opening defined by the hooks 43, a slight notch 46 widening the passage 44.
  • the width of the opening between the hooks is, of course , smaller than the width of the blade 35, so that the hooks are capable of preventing the transverse separation of the two blades 35 and 37, that is to say in a direction directed towards the outer blade 50.
  • edge of the protruding part 51 arranged in the terminal part of the blade 35 forming a stop element is adapted to prevent the separation of the two blades in the longitudinal direction.
  • longitudinal direction is meant a displacement along the arc defined by the blades 35 and 37.
  • the blade 37 has a transverse zone 45 which is capable of coming by elastic support, when the clasp is closed without trapping hair, in contact with the support element 12 of the sole 10, thus ensuring the spring function of opening of the clasp.
  • the clasp pivots around the articulation zone 29 and automatically moves away from the sole.
  • the return spring function is provided by direct support of the blade 37 on the sole 10.
  • the blade 37 has for this purpose, a longitudinal cut. When the bar is closed, the support element 12 enters this cutout so that the outer face of the blade rests on the inner face of the sole 10.
  • the return spring function is ensured by pressing on the end portion 17 of the clasp of a tab formed in the extension of the outer blade 50 and folded to form an obtuse angle with the terminal part 17, as described in application FR 88 11106 published under No. 2,635,653.
  • the blade 37 is cut, this to increase the elasticity of the blade and lighten the bar.
  • the edge of the cutout of the blade is rounded so as to define a fold line to assist the formation of the return 42 during manufacture.
  • the end of the blade 35 is automatically introduced into the passage 44 of the blade 37, by slightly bending the blade 35 so that the abutment element 51 crosses the passage 44. This is facilitated by the presence of the notch 46 (see FIG. 6).
  • the blade 35 remains engaged in the passage 44, so that the stop element 51 is not in contact with the return 42 but recessed relative to the latter (see FIG. 2), this stop element constituting in fact a obstacle to the separation of the blades in the longitudinal direction, but not however preventing their mobility.
  • the two blades are thus mounted to slide, with the end part of the blade 35 capped by the end part of the blade 37 (see FIGS. 2 and 3), the current part of the blade 35 constituting a male part and the passage 44 and the blade overlap area 37 constituting a female part.
  • the edge of the wall 44A of the passage 44 located opposite the defined opening between the hooks 43 will serve as a support for flexing the blade 35. This will also have the effect of ensuring a perfect junction between the blade 35 and the wall formed by the return, so that no hair can be introduced in passage 44.
  • FIG. 3 shows a barrette with a tuft of hair (in hatched lines) trapped in the space between the pressure element constituted by the two blades 35 and 37 and the outer blade 50 of the sole 10.
  • the hair is in contact, on the side of the blades, with a continuous loop which begins in the articulation zone 29, continues with the curved portion of the blade 37, then the straight wall formed by the return 42 which connects the two blades and finally by the curved portion of the blade 35 and ends in the rooting zone 36 of the blade 35, the hair thus being unable to slip between the two blades.
  • This has the direct consequence that the hair cannot be trapped and that it is very easy to readjust the barrette.
  • the male and female parts ensuring the connection of the two blades can be arranged either on one or the other of the blades.
  • the passage 44 arranged in the blade 37, it can be defined by a simple perforation adapted to the dimensions of the blade 35.
  • the return 42 of the blade 37 can be spaced from the free end and can be constituted by a piece reported.
  • the blade 37 may not be cut lengthwise.
