Definitions
- the invention relates to a hand discharge device according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a hand discharge device is known from EP-A-236 129, the cartridge being inserted into a tubular holder on the one hand and held by a pivotable bracket.
- This design means that an adapted holder must be used for each cartridge size and also a very high amount of material for the long bracket.
- the closure at the cartridge outlet end cannot effectively prevent the connection flange from bending.
- cartridge fuses that encompass the flange on the handheld device on all sides and that consist of a snap-in device designed as a single piece that encompasses the flange of the double cartridge on one side and the rear of the pendant device on the other side and is snap-fastened there. Since this snap device is designed as a single part, there is a risk that the users misplace or deliberately do not use this part in order to save time, which may result clean working with the handheld device is no longer guaranteed.
- the hand-held device 5 has a handle 6 and a trigger 7, which drives two plungers via a translation mechanism, the pressure pieces 8 and 9 of which actuate the squeezing pistons in the cylinders of the cartridge.
- the front side of the hand-held device facing the cartridge has a cartridge holder edge 10 into which the flange of the cartridge can be inserted.
- the two sides 11 and 12 of the holder each contain a slot 13, while the lower side 14 has two arcuate cutouts 15 and 16, on which at least one of the two cylinders of the cartridge rests and behind which the lower side of the flange 2 is gripped.
- a first exemplary embodiment of the device 17 according to the invention according to FIG. 2 has a securing flap 18, which is on the top of the housing 19 of the device is articulated.
- the securing flap 18 has a thickening 20 on one leg, which serves as a joint.
- an upper leg 21 or 22 serves as a handle part in order to be able to lock or unlock the securing flap, while a further, short leg 23 is designed as a closure part to engage behind the upper side 24 of the flange 2 of the double cartridge.
- the joint 20 is located in a recess 25 of the housing 19 in which a spring 26 is arranged which acts on this joint.
- the securing flap has a recess 20a on the cartridge side and the housing has a corresponding shoulder 19a in order to retain the flap.
- the spring acts on two knobs 27 on the joint, to which an indentation 28 in the free leg of the spring corresponds, as a result of which the securing flap is given a defined locking and opening position.
- FIG. 3 shows an embodiment variant of FIG. 2, in which the hand-held device 29 has a compression spring 30 instead of a leaf spring 26 with a U-shaped profile, which is partially arranged in a displaceable sleeve 31 around it against the joint 32 on the securing flap 33 to come across.
- This exemplary embodiment also has a recess 32a in the joint and a corresponding shoulder 19a in the housing.
- the joint has two flat surfaces 34 and 35 in order to hold the securing flap in a defined manner in the two end positions.
- the working and mode of operation of the safety flaps 18 or 33 is the same for both and both have a defined shut-off and opening position and are able to hold the double cartridge in place even at high discharge pressures. It is also possible to make the compression spring 30a stronger and to let the bush act on a cylindrical joint 32b according to FIG. 3a, so that the movement of the securing flap 33a is only fixed by the friction.
- the joint 40 on the securing flap is not located directly on the leg of the securing flap, but on a web 41 arranged parallel to the cartridges and plunger.
- the joint 40 is acted upon by a tension spring 42, the other end of which is articulated on the housing. When the safety flap is opened, it is pulled back and secured by the tension spring.
- FIG. 5 is a space-saving embodiment of the above according to FIG. 4, in which the web 44 is arranged outside the housing and at its end has an end piece 45 which is U-shaped in cross section and has a continuous axis 46 in one Slot 47 in the housing runs.
- the axis 46 is acted upon by a compression spring 48 arranged in the housing, which also has the task of bringing the securing flap 49 into a defined open position and holding it.
- the handheld device 50 has a securing flap 51.
- the securing flap 51 has an approximately U-shaped cross section and has a grip part 52 and the closure part 53 for engaging behind the flange 2 of the double cartridge.
- the legs 69 are connected to the handle part 52 with the pivot pins 54 (FIG. 7), which are arranged in corresponding grooves 70 in a recess 55 in the housing of the device and engage behind a shoulder 56 which prevents the flap from falling out.
- One leaf spring 67 each is arranged between the housing 68 and the leg 69 of the securing flap 51. In order to unlock the safety flap, it is first pulled up to the stop 56 on the handle part, as a result of which the closure part 53 releases the flange and the spring 67 brings the closure part into the open position.
- the two legs 69 may be expedient to provide the two legs 69 with a slot 69a each, in order to increase their elasticity.
- the axis of rotation of the securing flap was arranged transversely to the extent of the cylinders and the plunger
- the axis 58 in the handheld device 57 according to FIGS. 8 and 9 is arranged parallel to the cartridges and plungers.
- the securing flap 59 has, at the end opposite the joint 60 with the axis of rotation 58, a grip part 61 and an elastic latch 62 which can be snapped into a recess 63 in the housing.

Description
The invention relates to a hand discharge device according to the preamble of
In addition, in the case of hand-held devices for cartridges with two-component compositions, relatively large forces can occur when the trigger is actuated, which can result in not only the two cartridges being inflated, but also the flange connecting the two cylinders of the cartridge being bent. When the trigger is released, the return of the flange to the starting position results in additional pressure on the filling compound and supports its tendency to flow out. Prevention of flange deflection is therefore an important factor for discharge devices to work precisely.
There are also cartridge fuses that encompass the flange on the handheld device on all sides and that consist of a snap-in device designed as a single piece that encompasses the flange of the double cartridge on one side and the rear of the pendant device on the other side and is snap-fastened there. Since this snap device is designed as a single part, there is a risk that the users misplace or deliberately do not use this part in order to save time, which may result clean working with the handheld device is no longer guaranteed.
Based on the above prior art, it is an object of the present invention to provide a hand-held device whose securing means effectively prevent the connection flange from bending, require a small amount of material and cannot be relocated. This object is achieved with the hand-held device defined in

Of the known hand-held device shown in FIG. 1, only the essential parts are drawn which are necessary for understanding the invention. Here, only the end part of the
From the above it can be seen that the cartridge, resp. whose flange is held on three sides. As has already been stated in the introduction, such a three-sided edging of the cartridge flange is often not enough to prevent the cartridge flange from bending when it is being discharged. The known, bow-shaped fuse, which on the one hand comprises the flange and on the other hand the device housing at the top and fastens the flange to the housing, has the disadvantage that this bracket can easily be lost or misplaced.
A first exemplary embodiment of the
The
In order to facilitate the insertion of the securing flap behind the
While in all of the exemplary embodiments described so far, the axis of rotation of the securing flap was arranged transversely to the extent of the cylinders and the plunger, the
All safety flaps have in common that they are articulated to the housing and cannot be accidentally lost and that they are designed to firmly fix the double cartridge to the housing.
