Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a machine for the continuous treatment of textile or other parts.
  • This machine is aimed more particularly, although not exclusively, at washing and rinsing textile parts.
  • a machine for this type of treatment comprising a drum provided with a perforated cylindrical wall and rotatably mounted around a horizontal axis inside a tank, and in which the space in annular section formed between the drum and the bottom of the tank, which is intended to receive and transmit to the interior of the drum, through the perforations of its cylindrical wall, the treatment liquids, is divided by internal flanges in tight contact, by seals, with the cylindrical wall of the drum, in as many compartments as there are treatment liquids, while there are provided, inside the drum, means for driving the textile pieces, parallel to the axis of the drum, from its inlet end to its outlet end, other means being provided outside the drum for its rotational drive during the treatment.
  • the means for driving the textile pieces inside the drum are constituted by a helical ferrule, integral with the internal face of the drum and extending from one to the other of its ends.
  • this helical ferrule pushes forward not only the parts being treated but also the various treatment liquids which, at the outlet of the drum, are intimately mixed, which, obviously, harms the quality of treatment.
  • the textile pieces especially if they are likely to be impregnated with the treatment liquids, also participate in this transfer and this mixing of the liquids, because they are never extracted from the baths formed by these liquids in the bottom of the drum.
  • the drum is driven by hoops which, fixed at its ends projecting from the tank, form raceways bearing on support rollers, at least one of which is powered.
  • the object of the present invention is to remedy the drawbacks of sequential tunnels and modular tunnels by providing a machine which, separating the baths and, draining the textile pieces between the different phases of the treatment, is inexpensive to carry out and leads to costs of '' reduced maintenance.
  • This machine is of the type comprising a drum provided with a perforated cylindrical wall and rotatably mounted around a horizontal axis inside a tank, and in which the annular space formed between the drum and the bottom of the tank , to receive and transmit inside the drum, the treatment liquids, is divided by internal flanges in tight contact, by seals, with the cylindrical wall of the drum, in as many compartments as there are treatment, while there are provided, inside the drum, means for driving the textile pieces, parallel to the axis of the drum, from its inlet end to its outlet end, other means being provided outside the drum for its rotational drive during treatment.
  • the treated parts are extracted from the bath by the shovel associated with this compartment and are drained on this shovel before being deposited in the next compartment.
  • the tank has two dry compartments, that is to say isolated from the bath, housing the two sets of support rollers of the drums and their rotary drive means, each hoop of the drum being fixed to the latter in correspondence with one of these dry compartments.
  • each of the ends of each of the tank elements has a housing for fixing the heel of a lip seal, the lip of which faces towards the inside of the annular compartment formed between the tank element and the drum, is pressed elastically against the external face of a solid hoop, fixed on the periphery of the drum.
  • this machine is composed of a cylindrical drum 2, with a perforated wall, rotatably mounted around a horizontal axis inside a tank, generally designated by 3, and itself carried by a chassis 4.
  • Space annular formed between the drum 2 and the bottom of the tank 3 is divided into several compartments by internal radial flanges 6, in sealed contact with the wall of the drum 2. In the embodiment shown, these compartments are the number of ten and are referenced C1 to C10.
  • the perforated drum 2 is divided into as many compartments as those of the tank by internal annular flanges 7, in the form of a crown opposing the transfer of the treatment liquids from one compartment to the other.
  • Each collar 7 is arranged in the same diametrical plane as the collar 6 which corresponds to it.
  • Each compartment includes means for transferring textile pieces during processing to the next compartment, means which consist of a perforated frustoconical shovel 8.
  • the semi-circular base 8a of larger diameter, embraces at least half -circumference of the outlet orifice 9 of the compartment, while its end 8b, of smaller diameter, extends to the inlet orifice of this compartment.
  • FIG. 3 shows that the front longitudinal end 8b of the shovel 8, which is then seen in its direction of rotation, comes into contact with the internal face of the cylindrical wall of the drum 2, of which it contributes to stiffening.
  • Each compartment of the drum 2 comprises, on the internal face of this drum, ribs 12 for driving the textile parts. These ribs are arranged parallel to the generatrices of the drum and are angularly offset from one another. Figure 3 highlights that the two ribs 12 disposed on either side of the upstream end 8b of the perforated shovel 8 have a lower height than the other ribs.
  • the ribs 12 of each of the compartments of the drum are aligned with those of the other compartments and are rigidly fixed by their ends to the flanges 7 of the drum, so as to form, by bracing, stiffening longitudinal members the drum and improving its torsional stiffness, helped in this by the shovels 8.
  • the tank 3 comprises two dry compartments S1 and S2 which are isolated from the bath and which constitute housings for means for driving and supporting the drum.
  • these dry compartments are produced in compartments C3 and C8 of the tank, but they can of course be located in any other compartment, depending on the stresses exerted on the drum by the levels of the liquid of treatment in the various compartments, levels varying according to the compartments.
  • the tank 3 is therefore divided into a central element 3b and into two lateral elements, respectively 3a and 3c.
  • each end of each of the elements 3a-3b and 3c of the tank is provided with a housing 15 for the heel 16a of a lip seal 16 whose lip 16b, facing towards inside the element of the tank, comes into sealing contact with a hoop fixed against the external wall of the drum 2.
  • the latter therefore comprises two hoops 17, delimiting the dry compartments and two end hoops 18, fixed to its extremities.
  • FIG. 4 shows that the seal between the various compartments C1 to C10 of the tank, within each of its elements 3a-3b-3c, is ensured by means of the internal flanges 6, projecting radially in the compartment and substantially in the extension of the corresponding flange 7 of the drum, and by seals, generally designated by 20.
  • the heel 20a of each seal is trapped by annular rings 22 fixed on ribs 23 projecting from the periphery of the drum.
  • the two lips 20b of the seal trap, by elastic and leaktight contact, the external edges of the collar 6.
  • the different compartments C1 to C10 are completely independent of each other, which makes it possible, for each compartment, to perfectly control the composition of the bath, its level and its temperature.
  • At least one compartment of the tank is provided in the upper part thereof with an inspection door 31 (FIG. 1) allowing, with another inspection door 32 (FIG. 2) formed on the corresponding compartment of the drum, to access the interior of the drum compartment to clear the textile products forming a jam in the chute or in the compartment, avoiding having to cross all the upstream or downstream compartments, as is the case in tunnels current.
  • This door or these inspection doors are arranged on the compartments subject to jams.
  • the compartments C1-C2 are assigned to the prewash, represented by the brace P in FIG. 2, while those C3 to C6 are assigned to the washing, as represented by the brace L to the same figure and that those C7 to C10 are assigned to rinsing, as represented by the brace R. It is obvious that this distribution is not imperative and can be adapted according to the needs of the treatment. The same is true for the number of compartments which is not limited to ten and which, for example, can vary from 8 to 16, depending on requirements.
  • the rotation of the tank, carried out in each of the dry compartments, is ensured by a pair of spaced rollers 25, mounted free in rotation in consoles 26 of the chassis 4 and connected by movement transmissions, of the V-belt type, notched or not, to geared motors 27, independent but rotating at the same speed.
  • the rollers 25 come into contact with a rib 17a projecting from the hoop 17 surrounding the tank and delimiting the dry compartment.
  • the textile products introduced into compartment C1 of the drum 3 through a chute 28 are first treated in this compartment.
  • This treatment consists, in known manner, of rotating the drum by a fraction of a turn and alternately in one direction or the other to obtain the desired bubbling effect.
  • the drum is rotated over one complete revolution in the direction of arrow 33 in FIG. 3, so that the perforated shovel 8 takes the textile products and ensures their drainage before transferring them to the next compartment.
  • the treated textile products are discharged through an outlet chute 30 directing them to a receiving tank, not shown.
  • This machine combines the advantages of modular tunnel machines with those of sequential tunnel machines, without having the disadvantages of these machines, namely, respectively, in terms of the cost of installation and maintenance, and in terms of the mixing of the conducting baths. high consumption of water and detergent, but also insufficient washing.
  • Such a machine can therefore be used to wash any type of dirty laundry, whether soiled, very soiled or particularly soiled.
  • the excellence of the mechanical washing obtained makes it possible to limit the number of compartments compared to known devices, which leads to a gain on investment, on space, on the consumption of products, and on the time of washing.
