Abstract

In a modular lighting system proposed in the older European Patent Application No. 90114986.4, an advantageous mounting is specified for the modules, which are inserted from below between two support rails (1) and are thus mounted with their topside, which is configured to form a support plate (8), on the free ends of the upper rail parts (2) of the support rails (1). For this purpose, the support plate (8) grips from below with its side parts (81) on the free ends of the upper rail parts (2) of the support rails (1) lugs (24) with a head-like profile, and in order to clamp the support plate (8) against these lugs (24) makes use of clamping elements (9) which are mounted on the underside of the side parts (81) with the aid of at least one locking screw (10) and engage with their edges which project out over the side parts (81) in longitudinal plug-in slots (26) of the near upper rail parts (2). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a modular lighting system for interiors, consisting of two, one-sided open hollow profile and upper and lower side parts comprising mounting rails of any length, which - with their openings opposite one another - are arranged parallel to each other. One or more module modules are arranged in their intermediate space and are designed with the mounting rails to form individual lights or a continuous rail track body with lights, spotlights and any other electrical or mechanical assemblies integrated therein. The module components each have a support plate with side parts which engage behind the profile-like projections on the free ends of the upper rail parts of the support rails.

In such a lighting system proposed in the older European patent application, published as EP-A1-0 469 179, the module modules, which have a carrier plate on their top side for receiving and holding the module components, are inserted as a unit from below between the two mounting rails and over the side parts of the support plate attached to the free ends of the upper rail parts of the support rails. In this way, a rigid, load-bearing connection between the two mounting rails is established.

The invention has for its object, in a development of the modular lighting system described above by suitable design of the support plates of the module blocks on the one hand and the free ends of the upper rail parts of the Support rails on the other hand and by the choice of fasteners for connecting the support plate of the module blocks to the mounting rails to ensure a quick and easy installation.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features specified in claim 1.

Advantageous embodiments of the subject matter according to claim 1 are specified in the further claims 2 to 5.

Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing, in which:
  • 1 shows the cross section of a modular lighting system with a support plate connecting the upper rail parts and a cover glass connecting the lower rail parts,
  • Figure 2 shows the modular lighting system according to Figure 1 without a cover glass in an exploded view.

Figures 1 and 2 show the two mutually parallel support rails 1, in which module assemblies can be inserted from below into the space. The module assemblies have a support plate 8 on the top, which serves to hold and hold the module components. For the sake of clarity, FIGS. 1 and 2 do not show the module components. So here the module component is represented exclusively by its support plate. As soon as such a module block is inserted from below into the space between the two mounting rails 1 and fastened to the free ends of the upper rail parts 2 of the mounting rails 1, the lower opening of the space between the mounting rails 1 can be provided, if this is provided for such a module block be closed by a cover glass 7.

The mutually parallel support rails 1, which are aligned with one another with their openings, have a V-like hollow profile with an upper rail part 2 and a lower rail part 3, which are connected to one another by a transverse wall 4. Through the transverse wall 4, the cross-sectional profile of the mounting rails 1 is divided into a large, one-sided open receiving chamber 5 and a small receiving chamber 6. In the area of the small receiving chamber 6, the upper rail part 2 is designed to form a cover 21. The receiving chambers 5 and 6 serve to receive electrical components and / or lines. To hold the cover glass 7 or other mechanical connecting elements, the lower rail parts 3 of the mounting rails 1 have head webs 31 at the free ends. In the cover glass in FIG. 1, these head webs 31 engage in undercuts (not specified in any more detail) of the spring strips 71 provided on the inside of the cover glass 7.

The upper rail part 2 of the mounting rails 1 has, on the side of the large receiving chamber 5 in the immediate vicinity of its free end, an anchor groove 22 which serves to engage brackets and is open to the outside. This anchor groove 22 has the profile of a boot, the cap of which faces the transverse wall 4 and the rear of the shaft is the rear side wall of a last 23, the profile of which merges into a head-like extension 24 at the free end. The head-like extension 24 projects forward over the bar 23 and has a vertical end face 27. In the area of its projection, the head-like extension 24 is provided with an undercut 25 which is open at the bottom. Furthermore, the strip 23 has a plug groove 26 which is open to the front in the foot region. Both the undercut 25 and the insertion groove 26 serve to hold and fasten the support plate 8, which has side parts 81 suitably shaped for this purpose in the profile.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the profile of the side parts 81 of the support plate 8 has a screw groove 82 on the underside as well as a groove which is offset from the upper edge of the support plate 8 and is open at the top. The offset distance a shown in Figure 2 a of the groove 83 is such that the top of the support plate 8 when inserted between the mounting rail 1 with the top of the head-like extension 24 of the bar 23 and thus with the outer contour of the upper rail parts 2 of the DIN rail 1 is aligned.

When inserting a module with its support plate 8 from below between the support rails 1, the side parts 81 of the support plate 8 engage with the outer edge of their channel 83 in the undercut 25 of the bar 23 on the underside of the head-like extension 24 in profile and centering a. Subsequently, the support plate 8 with its side parts 81 is clamped against the head-like projections 24 of the strips 23 in that angle rail pieces 9 with clamping screws 10 are attached to the underside of the side parts 81 as clamping elements.

First, the angle rail pieces 9 are inserted with the free end of one leg 91 up to the stop of the other leg 92 on the inner walls of the side parts 81 into the slots 26 of the strips 23 and then with their leg 91 each with at least one clamping screw 10 on the underside the side parts 81 fastened in that the clamping screws are screwed into the downwardly open screw groove 82 in a force-locking manner. The support plate 8 is then clamped against the head-like projections 24 of the strips 23 of the upper rail parts 2.

In the exploded view of a section of a lighting system according to FIG. 2, in addition to the support plate 8 of a module component, a support plate shortened to a connecting bracket 80 is also shown. The angle rail pieces 9 differ from those with which the support plate 8 is fastened to the upper rail parts 2 in that the fastening of these angle rail pieces 9 to the underside of the side parts 81 is carried out with two clamping screws 10.

By shortening a support plate 8 in this way, it is possible, while maintaining the support plate profile, to implement a self-supporting connecting bracket 80 which can be used wherever a load-bearing connection between the two support rails 1 of a rail track is additionally required in the course of a rail track.
