Definitions

  • the invention relates to a variable-length intake manifold according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a known length-adjustable suction tube of this type (US-A-3 351 363) has two tubes which are displaceably mounted one inside the other, the inner tube not only having a guide groove which extends in the axial direction but also a plurality of locking notches which are arranged at a distance from one another in the axial direction.
  • the inner tube carries a seal which bears against the inner wall of the outer tube and guides the inner tube in a centered manner.
  • the end of the outer tube overlapping the inner tube is unchanged in diameter from its remaining length and is enclosed by a sleeve which sits tightly thereon and extends axially beyond the free end of the outer tube in question and forms a guide piece for a spherical locking member.
  • the inner tube has locking notches which are arranged at a distance from one another in the axial direction and cooperate with the locking member for the purpose of axially locking the two tubes.
  • a sleeve-shaped locking member is also mounted coaxially displaceably against the force of a spring on the sleeve. In its rest position, this locking member holds the locking member in engagement with one of the locking notches, thereby counteracting the two tubes Axial displacement are locked in the selected axial extended position.
  • the locking member is released in the radial direction, so that it is lifted radially when the tubes are axially adjusted and is only secured against radial adjustment again by the locking member when the locking member has fallen into one of the locking notches.
  • a disadvantage of this construction is the need to arrange two cylindrical sleeves with a sufficient radial gap for accommodating return springs coaxially with the outer tube, which results in a substantial increase in diameter in the area of the locking arrangement. The effort for creating and assembling the components is also considerable.
  • a sleeve on the outer jacket of the outer pipe fixed which engages with a cylindrical extension as a guide piece, the inner tube to be inserted into the outer tube.
  • the inner tube has locking notches which are arranged at a distance in the axial direction and in which a roller-shaped locking member engages radially in the locking position. In the locking position, this locking member is held by means of a rotary knob, the axis of rotation of which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tube.
  • the invention has for its object to take measures in a suction pipe according to the preamble of claim 1, through which a simplified structure is achieved.
  • a suction pipe there is no need to widen the outer pipe in the region of the latching device, so that the outer pipe can run freely with the same diameter.
  • the adapted guide piece In the jacket of the outer tube, only an opening is required for the adapted guide piece, which is secured therein against displacement in the axial and in the circumferential direction.
  • the guide piece is preferably supported in its edge area on the outer edge of the opening so that it cannot slip into contact with the inner tube.
  • the guide piece with the inserted locking element is secured by a slid-on sleeve, which encloses the jacket of the outer tube and also the guide piece.
  • the sleeve is arranged in an unadjustable manner with respect to the outer tube and, if necessary, is fastened directly to it.
  • the locking member is designed as a separately adjustable component and is connected via a connecting piece to an actuating button arranged on the outside of the sleeve for manual actuation.
  • the locking member adjustable against the force of a spring is mounted in particular between the guide piece and the sleeve.
  • a slot in the jacket of the sleeve is required, through which the connector reaches up to the actuation button.
  • the locking member can be adjustable in the circumferential direction if the slot also runs in the circumferential direction and is in particular axially displaceable in the case of an axially extending slot.
  • the sleeve can tightly enclose the outer tube and have a radial shape in the region of the guide piece, which also guide the adjustable locking member and on which the actuating button can be arranged.
  • a sealing ring that can be integrally formed on it or attached to it as a separate component.
  • the sleeve can Wear a radially inward-facing pin that engages in the longitudinal guide groove stamped into the inner tube and prevents relative rotation between the tubes.
  • the sleeve In the axial direction, it is expedient if, on the one hand, it rests with a collar on the front edge of the outer tube and, on the other hand, it engages with the guide piece held in the outer tube, for example via a snap-in connection.
  • a telescopically variable in length suction tube for vacuum cleaners has an inner tube 1 which is provided with an embossed guide groove 2 extending in the axial direction.
  • the locking member 4 engages in the locking position shown in the locking notch and sits in the rest in a cutout 5 of a guide piece 6, which with its edge zone on the outer edge of an opening, in the outer surface of the inner tube 1 with play surrounding outer tube 7 is provided.
  • the guide piece 6 engages in this opening 7.1, positively and tightly and is thus secured against adjustment in the axial direction and in the circumferential direction.
  • the guide piece 6 guides a locking member 8 which is mounted perpendicularly thereto and is displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the tube and which can be moved against the force of a spring 9.
  • the locking member 8 engages radially on the outside on the locking member 4 and holds the same in the locking notch 3.
  • the free space is dimensioned so high that the locking member 4 comes out of the effective area of the inner tube 1 or the locking notches 3.
  • the flanks of the locking notches 3 are inclined so that the locking member 4 is automatically lifted out of the locking notch by relative displacement of the tubes 1,7.
  • the free space for the locking member 4 is radially limited by a stop web 10, which can be integrally connected to the locking member 8.
  • the outer tube 7 has the same diameter throughout as far as the inner tube can engage with it.
  • the outer tube 7 carries in the area of the latching device containing the guide piece 6 a sleeve 11 lying tightly against the lateral surface, which has a radial shape 12 only in the area of the guide piece 6 and the locking member 8 held thereon.
  • the shape overlaps the two parts 6, 7 so that they are secured against radial adjustment.
  • the stop web 10 lies on the inside of the formation 12 in a sliding manner.
  • In the formation 12 there is an in Axial direction slot 13 through which a connecting web 14 engages, which is integrally connected to a sliding actuating button 15 arranged on the top of the formation 12 and is in a detachable plug connection with the locking member 8.
  • limiting webs 16 are also formed on the actuating button 15, which engage the guide piece 6 or the locking member 8 designed as a locking slide.
  • the sleeve 11 Since the sleeve 11 tightly encloses the outer tube 7 over half the circumference and the guide piece 6 engages in the adapted radial shape 12, the sleeve 11 is secured against twisting and radial adjustment.
  • it has a stop collar 17 which engages in front of the free end edge 18 of the outer tube end, while the axially opposite end of the sleeve 11 or the formation 12 engages behind the guide piece 6 by means of a radially inwardly directed latching lug 18.
  • the sleeve 11 is thus arranged in an unadjustable manner with respect to the outer tube 7, but can be released again by lifting out the catch 19.
  • a sealing ring 20 which in the present case is integrally connected to the stop collar 17, is used, which surrounds the inner tube tightly and centers and guides it in a slidable manner.
  • a sealing ring 21 is arranged at the end of the inner tube inserted into the outer tube 7, which also bridges the gap between the two tubes 1, 7 and, in addition to an airtight seal, also accomplishes the centering between the tubes 1, 7.
  • the sleeve 11 also carries a radially inwardly directed pin 22 which engages in the guide groove 2 and thus prevents a relative rotation of the tubes 1,7.
  • a suction pipe designed in this way can be assembled in an automatic production device after only the guide piece 6 with the locking member 8 and the spring 9 is to be inserted radially from the outside into the adapted opening in the outer pipe 7 and then only the inner pipe with the sleeve 11 already threaded onto the outer pipe introduced and the sleeve must be pushed onto the outer tube and the attached parts 6,8,9.
  • the actuating button 15 then only needs to be plugged on in the radial direction.
  • a recess 23 adapted to the latching member 4 can be provided in the locking member 8, otherwise the structure being identical, the spring 9 being designed as a tension spring.
  • the pipes 1, 7 can be freely moved axially against one another, the latching member 4 being lifted upward into the recess 23 when there is no latching notch 3 below it. If the actuating button 15 is released when the latching member 4 has fallen into a latching notch 3 and the tension spring 9 z. B. pulled to the right in the drawing until the locking member 8 is above the locking member 4, then the locking member 4 is arvetiert in the locking notch 3 and a further axial displacement of the tubes 1.7 is no longer possible.
