Abstract

The invention relates to a laundry-treatment machine, such as a laundry drier or washing drier, with a condensation device (2) having a condensate-collecting container (3) to which a condensate pump is assigned. In present-day laundry driers, two lint filters arranged in series are used. It is known that some of the fine lint nevertheless passes through the filters and settles in the condensation device. To prevent the deposit of lint in the condensation device (2) and nevertheless do without a manual or automatic flushing of lint out of the condensation device, the condensation device is preceded by a process-air washer (1) as a lint-separating part which can be subjected to the condensate (K) from the condensate-collecting container (3). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a laundry treatment machine such as a tumble dryer or washer dryer with a condensation device which has a condensate collecting container, to which a condensate pump is assigned.

In today's tumble dryers, two lint filters are arranged in a row. It is known that some of the fine fluff nevertheless passes through the sieves and settles in the condensation device. The condensation device must therefore occasionally be freed from the lint carried in the process air stream. The condensation devices or the plates of these devices can therefore be removed for cleaning. With such condensation devices, handling for the purpose of cleaning is inconvenient.

A condensation device is already known from DE-OS 37 38 031, in which manual removal of the fluff is not necessary. The condensation device is assigned a spray nozzle device directed towards the plates, which is used to rinse the inner surfaces of the condensation device with the condensate from the condensate collecting container during a time-limited program section and is thus intended to remove deposited lint.

It can happen that lint residues still remain in corners of the condensation device, which clump together due to contact with the condensate, dry on the plates and stick. These more stubborn lint deposits can no longer be removed by flushing the plates with condensate.

The invention is therefore based on the problem of avoiding the deposition of lint in the condensation device, so that no measures for manual or automatic rinsing of lint from the condensation device are required. An essential aim of the invention is to no longer have to clean the condensation device during the life of the dryer.

This problem is solved in the subject matter of the invention by the characterizing features of claim 1. Advantageous refinements and developments result from the following claims.

The advantages which can be achieved with the invention are, in particular, that the process air scrubber connected upstream of the condensation device does not in the first place lead to lint deposits in the condensation device. The fluff is removed from the process air stream by being wetted by the condensate and precipitating from the process air stream. The condensation device therefore no longer has to be removable. Seals and fastening devices can thus also be designed to be less complex. The resulting condensate is conveyed from the condensate collection tank via the existing condensate pump and a two-way valve or via a second pump into the process air washer. The use of the condensate does not require fresh water to be used in the process air wash.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and will be described in more detail below.

Es zeigen:

Figur 1
Show it:
Figure 1
schematically the arrangement of the process air washer,
Figure 2 to 5
schematic of the structure of the process air washer according to variants I to IV,
In Figure 1, the arrangement of a process air washer (1) for the condensation device (2) of a clothes dryer is shown schematically. In the drawing only the elements essential to the invention are shown. Other elements such as drum, process air blower, drive motor, etc. are not shown.
The condensate that accumulates during the drying process is collected in a condensate collector (3). In this container cleaning measures (4) for the condensate such. B. settling tanks or sieves can be integrated. The condensate collector (3) or parts of it can be removed for cleaning purposes. The condensation device (2) can be acted upon with the condensate from the condensate collection container (3) Process air washer (1) upstream as a lint separator part. An existing condensate pump (5) conveys the condensate via a two-way valve (6) into the process air washer (1) or into a collecting tank or to the drain (7). It is also possible to provide a second pump. In this case, the two-way valve (6) can be omitted. A monitoring device (not shown) in the condensate collection container (3) (float switch etc.) ensures that part of the condensate is removed from the system if there is too much water. This monitoring device controls the two-way valve (6) or alternatively the second pump.
FIGS. 2 to 5 show different variants for the process air washer (1). In the figures, the process air flow is designated PL and the condensate K. In FIG. 5, Ü means an overflow and A means an outflow.
Figure 2 shows variant I in which in the process air washer (1) inclined guide walls (8) are provided, which are fed with condensate from a water distribution channel (10) arranged above to form a water film (9) running thereon. The process air flow is led through the spaces between the guide walls (8). The guide walls (8) can be slightly curved, straight or angled.
FIG. 3 shows variant II of the process air washer (1), in which a coarse-mesh grid (11) is provided which is arranged transversely to the process air direction. The condensate, which is brought to the grate (11) via a water distribution channel (10), runs off the grate, so that the process air flows through a kind of water curtain.
Figure 4 shows variant III, in which in the process air washer (1) a crosswise to the process air direction or slightly directed against the process air flow nozzle (12) is provided, the spray of which forms a water curtain.
FIG. 5 shows variant IV, in which the process air washer (1) has at least one tray (13) open to the top with condensate, the process air stream being guided parallel to the water surface through the process air washer (1).
