The grippers 6 are in operative contact with control cams 27 fixed to the frame via bearings 23 of the gripper shaft and a lever 24 and a roller 26. After the arc 28 has been transferred, the grippers 6 close. The arc 28 is clamped between the gripper 6 and the gripper stop 29. The gripper 29 has fork-like extensions 31 which mesh with the fork-like extensions 32 of the holding part 9.

Dies geschieht durch die bewegliche Anordnung der Saugdüsen 10 in den Schlitzen 33. Aus Fig. 3 ist ersichtlich, daß die Saugdüsen 10 um den Betrag a bewegbar sind. Dies wird durch einen Antrieb 36 bewerkstelligt, welcher von einer gestellfesten Steuerkurve 37 beaufschlagt wird. Der Antrieb 36 besteht aus einer Lasche an der Saugdüse 10, welche über ein Kugelgelenk mit einer Koppel verbunden ist, welche wiederum über Kniehebel und eine Rolle auf die genannte Steuerkurve 37 wirkt. Die alternativ angeordneten Greifer 42 fassen den Bogen 28 nach dessen Spreizung durch die beweglichen Saugdüsen 10. Durch das Laufen der Rolle 51 in der gestellfesten Nut 52 wird über den Hebel 49 eine Kraft übertragen, die über die gelenkig gelagerte Koppel 48 auf das mit der Welle 8 verbundene Halteteil 9 in der Weise wirkt, daß das Halteteil 9 gegenüber dem Trommelgrundkörper 2 eine Schwenkbewegung ausführt, die je nach Größe des angestellten Hubes zu einer Dehnung des Bogens im Bereich von 0,2 bis 1 mm führt, so daß blasenförmige Verwerfungen beseitigt werden. Claims (5)

  1. Drum for conveying sheets, in which, as an untautened or creased sheet (2) is pulled smooth, seen from the centre line of the paper sheet to the lateral edges of the sheet (2), the tensioning displacement increases, so that the sheet trailing edge, in the end, is pulled taut in the regions between the centre line of the sheet (2) and the two lateral edges in different pulling directions resulting from the respective longitudinal and transverse tensioning displacement of the suction elements (13) [sic], the drum being provided with controlled grippers for taking hold of the sheet leading edge of the sheet to be pulled smooth and the suction elements being arranged such that they can be displaced obliquely by means of a drive, with the extended lines of the direction of movement of the suction elements (10) intersecting at a central circumferential line of the drum (1), characterised in that the shaft (8) is constructed as a hollow shaft and is in connection with a suction-air source, in that a foot part of the suction element (10) is constructed crowned and is mounted in a corresponding seat on the shaft (8), in that the suction elements (10) are held in their seat on the shaft (8) by means of compression springs (41).
  2. Drum according to Claim 1, characterised in that, following the suction elements (10) in the direction of rotation of the drum (1), controllable grippers (42) for taking hold of the sheet trailing edge and also associated gripper rests are arranged on a holding part (9) fixed to the hollow shaft, in that the gripper rests together with the grippers (42) can be pivoted by means of the holding part (9) on an arc of a circle whose radius corresponds to the radius of the drum (1).
  3. Drum according to Claims 1 to 2, characterised in that a control device (54) is provided to pivot the grippers (42) for taking hold of the trailing edge, together with their rest.
  4. Drum according to Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the control device (54) comprises a lever (53) which is connected to the shaft (8) and runs, via a link (48) and a lever (49) with a roller (51), in a groove (52) fixed to the frame.
  5. Drum according to Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the suction elements (10) are guided in slots (33) in the curved surface of the drum (1).
