- Such adjustment screws are used in microwave technology to e.g. Adjust waveguide resonance circuits, adjust electrical tolerances of semiconductors used in waveguides, adjust inductances of high-frequency coils or adjust trimmer capacitors to the desired capacitance and the like. It must be ensured that the adjustment screw makes safe, long-term stable contact with the respective microwave component. This is achieved in that the adjustment screw has a self-locking seat in a threaded hole into which it is screwed. Such a self-locking adjustment screw is shown in US 3,469,160. The adjusting screw has a self-locking effect in that it is provided with two slits arranged one above the other and running perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the screw.
- transverse slots have the effect that the threads below and above the slots are slightly offset from one another, as a result of which the screw thread is elastically braced in the thread of the threaded hole.
