Description

The invention relates to a protective cover made of gas-tight material.

An emergency package for protecting a person in an atmosphere contaminated with pollutants is known from European patent specification 0211914. In all the embodiments described in this patent, the outside air is led into the interior of the emergency package via a supply air filter. However, there is no filter that prevents all poisonous gases that occur during a fire. Furthermore, no filter is a protection against insufficient oxygen content, which can also arise in the event of a fire in the breathing air.

The object on which the present invention is based is to propose a protective cover made of gas-tight material, the interior of which enables breathing even in the case of various pollutants polluting the environment.

This object is achieved in that the protective cover has a connection via which the interior can be connected to a breathing apparatus.

In particular, the connection of the protective cover can be connected to the pressure reducer of the breathing apparatus via the medium pressure line.

According to a particularly preferred embodiment, the protective cover is designed as a baby carrier.

Further particularly preferred embodiments are described in the subclaims.

The interior of the protective cover according to the invention is independent of the ambient air. Respiratory protective devices are an integral part of every fire department ambulance. The protective cover itself is made of a fire and smoke resistant material. If it is connected to the known and existing breathing apparatus, the breathing air from the firefighter's "air bottle" gets into the interior of the protective cover. It is thus avoided that any pollutants present in the circulating air get into the interior of the protective cover. As already mentioned, there are currently no filters that prevent all poisonous gases that occur in a fire. However, all known protective covers work with a filter.

When designing the protective cover as a baby carrier, it is easy for the firefighter to put the baby to be rescued in the carrier in the event of a fire. Is now the interior connected to the pressure reducer of the firefighter's breathing apparatus via the medium pressure line, the breathing air for the baby in the closed baby carrier comes from the firefighter's air bottle. In the event of a fire, the fireman carries the closed baby rescue bag and thus goes outside with the protected baby.

In the known baby carrier bags, a filter is provided which, as described, can only ensure protection against certain pollutants. In addition, it should be pointed out that if the air is low in oxygen, it is not sufficient if a filter is installed to prevent the baby from suffocation.

It is also not possible to make an analysis of the circulating air due to the urgency of the rescue process and then to decide which filter should be selected for certain substances.

The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing.

Figure 1 shows the perspective view of a protective cover according to the invention, which is designed as a baby carrier.

The protective cover 1 can be closed with the zipper 2. The baby located in the interior 3 of the protective cover 1 is connected to the outside air via the Connection 4 connected. This connection 4 has a rolling thread and is provided with a throttle nozzle 5 which leads to the medium pressure line 6. The medium pressure line 6 is connected via a Y-piece 7 to the line which is intended for the firefighter. This Y-piece 7 connects the medium pressure line 6 with the pressure reducer of a breathing apparatus, so that this breathing apparatus can supply both the firefighter and the interior 3 of the protective cover 1 with the necessary breathing air via the Y-piece 7.

If the baby to be protected is thus located in the interior 3 of the protective cover 1, it can be saved in a simple manner regardless of the ambient air. The firefighter has connected his breathing apparatus to the medium-pressure line 6 of the protective cover 1 via the Y-piece 7 and can thus carry the baby located in the protective cover 1 on the carrying handles 8 and bring them to the outside in a simple manner. Regardless of the type of pollutants in the ambient air and the oxygen content, the baby in the protective cover 1 can thus be saved.

However, the invention should not be limited to the baby carrier described, since it is also conceivable that, for example, a tent-like protective cover is used, for example to briefly provide several people in the interior of such a protective cover with breathing air. Furthermore, the protective cover 1 is provided with pressure relief valves 9 which serve to discharge the excess pressure in the closed protective cover.
