Definitions

  • the invention relates to a portable breathing air device according to the preamble of independent claim 1.
  • Breathing air devices of this type are known in numerous designs and are used in particular for industrial purposes when hazardous substances have to be used, see for example DE-A-2 612 877 or EP -A-0 420 812.
  • the devices are usually worn by the user on the body, by means of a hip belt on the left or right side or on the back.
  • the device is connected to a respirator mask or a protective suit with a flexible hose. Filtered air can thus be made available to the user for breathing.
  • a blower installed in the device builds up excess pressure in the protective mask or suit, which greatly facilitates breathing and largely prevents the ingress of dangerous substances.
  • Such devices are also worn when performing strenuous and demanding work, for example in agriculture and when renovating buildings.
  • the breathing air device is carried on the back, on the left or on the right side.
  • the problem with the known breathing air devices is that the device is in at least one of the carrying positions mentioned are very cumbersome at work. As a rule, this is caused by an unfavorable course of the connecting hose and an electrical cable or the relatively high height of the device.
  • breathing air devices that are supplied in a version for the left side of the body and a version for the right side of the body.
  • the invention is based on the object of creating a breathing air device of the type mentioned which avoids these difficulties and which is therefore comfortable to carry out for physical work in all of the carrying positions mentioned.
  • the object is achieved by the invention according to claim 1.
  • the breathing air device in the breathing air device according to the invention, the combination of the symmetry defined in claim 1 and the fastening device also defined, which enables the connecting tube to take an optimal and less disturbing course in all three types of wear mentioned.
  • the breathing air device can be worn on the left as well as on the right side of the body so that the connecting piece for the connecting hose protrudes forward, with an inclination of, for example, 45 degrees to the horizontal. Carried on the back, the connecting piece protrudes vertically upwards, which is also optimal.
  • the housing of the breathing air device is designed as a flat, approximately square box, the plane of symmetry going through two opposite corners of the housing.
  • the connection piece is then directed upwards by approximately 45 degrees, which results in an ideal course of the connection hose.
  • a particularly simple operation of the breathing air device is ensured if the switch is arranged on the outside of the device and in the vicinity of the connection piece. The switch is then located at the front and top in both side carrying positions. The symmetrical arrangement of the switch helps to ensure that it can be found safely and quickly, even with protective gloves and in poor visibility.
  • a particularly compact design of the device is achieved if, through a further development of the invention, the energy supply unit forms a corner of the housing and engages between two symmetrically arranged filter units. This also makes good use of the space and enables the creation of a comparatively small, flat and at the same time compact device.
  • the breathing air device has a plastic housing in which a blower 11 is shown, which is only indicated here. From this blower 11, two channels 13 each lead to a filter 3 in a symmetrical arrangement.
  • the filters 3 each have a suction opening 3a through which outside air is sucked in by means of the blower 11, cleaned and fed through a channel 14 to an airtight hose 12 attached to a nozzle 5 can be.
  • the commercially available filters 3, so-called canister filters are screwed onto the back of the housing 1 and can therefore be used in be replaced easily. 1 and 2 clearly show, the filters 3 are each housed in approximately quarter-circular niches, which is formed by the front 1 a of the housing 1, a wall-like extension 16 and a battery housing 2. The filters 3 are thus only partially above.
  • the flexible rubber hose 12 is fastened at one end to the nozzle 5, for example screwed on, and connected at the other end, not shown here, for example to a protective mask, not shown here.
  • the housing 1 has a recess 15 into which a battery housing 2 is inserted.
  • the housing 2 essentially forms a ceiling of the housing 1 and is on the front, as can be seen from FIG. 1 above, in such a way that the filters 3 are partially covered by the housing 2.
  • 2 shows how the housing 2 is inserted into the recess 15 from below.
  • the housing 2 engages comparatively far into the space between the filters 3.
  • the electrical contact pins 10 of the housing 2 are designed such that the housing 2 is inserted into the recess 15 in two positions and the electrical contact can be made.
  • Batteries or accumulators 17 are accommodated in the housing 2, so that here an electrical energy supply unit for Operation of the blower 11 is formed.
  • this unit can be used and exchanged very easily in any carrying position.
  • the latter has two latches 9b in a symmetrical arrangement which cooperate with corresponding latching cams 9a of the housing 1.
  • the lock 9 formed in this way can be released in a simple manner by deflecting the latches 9b in the direction of the arrow shown in FIG. 3.
  • the power supply unit can be replaced easily and safely even without a view.
  • a switch 4 is attached to the front of the housing 1 immediately below the nozzle 5 in a symmetrical arrangement. 1, the switch 4 is in a position on the upper outside of the extension 16 which is favorable for actuation.
  • the housing 1 has three molded-on belt loops 6 and 7 on the rear.
  • the eyelets 7 are arranged in mirror symmetry, as shown in FIG. 3.
  • a hip belt 18 is pulled through the channels of two belt loops 7 and 6, respectively. If the breathing air device is worn on the right side, the hip belt 18 is through one of the eyelets 7 and Pull eyelet 6 through.
  • the breathing apparatus is then located on the right half B of the hip belt, as shown in Fig. 4a.
  • the hip belt 18 is pulled through the two eyelets 7, so that the device is arranged on the central region A of the belt 18, as shown in FIG. 4b.
  • the hose 12 is then directed upwards.
  • the belt 18 is again pulled through the eyelet 6 and one of the eyelets 7.
  • the arrangement shown schematically in FIG. 4c then results.
  • the breathing air device hangs on the left half C of the belt 18 with this wearing style.
  • the connector 5 also has an inclination of 45 degrees upwards.
