Definitions
- the present invention relates to the further development of the foldable storage bottle described there for pourable or flowable goods.
- the bottle can be manufactured particularly light-weight, thus causes only a low plastic consumption and is nevertheless of a high stability due to the shape.
- the bottle body has a hexagonally elongated, flat cross-section with inner edges and outer angles tapering to foldable outer edges, the bottom being drawn inwards to form outer, rounded bottom edges and having a foldable center line extending longitudinally between the ends of the outer edge, the Bottom edges have four outer rising bevels that converge to the ends of the outer edges (see also EP-A-0408929).
- the bottle shape is characterized in that it is dimensionally stable and stable even when using thin walls. At the same time, it can be easily compressed into a flat structure, which means that only a fraction of the volume of waste that had previously been accepted.
- the raised bottom edges are rounded out to four convex bulges, which assume a contraction at the center of the two inner bottle surfaces and converge in pairs to the ends of the outer edges. Arise in this way four, approximately punctiform supports on the footprint.
- the bottle can have a customary shape, the inner edges of the stretched-hexagonal cross-section converging to the pouring opening. It is not necessary for the pouring opening to lie in the region of the central axis of the bottle; in particular, it can also be offset laterally.
- the bottle body can have recessed grips which, in order to facilitate compression, also have linear folding edges with preferably small kink radii, in order to keep the dimensional stability as low as possible by the beading effect occurring with larger radii.
- the bottle is provided with a hollow handle, an opening being left free between this and the bottle body.
- Hollow handle and bottle body have their own inner and outer folding edges.
- the bottle shape is produced using the blowing process, with initial wall thicknesses of approximately 0.3 to 0.5 mm (for a bottle volume of 1 l) having proven particularly useful.
- the body itself is relatively flat, the edge distances of the inner bottle surfaces in the region - below the possibly to be brought together towards the pouring spout - being approximately three times the distance of the outer edges from the inner edges.
- the folding process itself is done by squeezing or laying flat.
- the present invention has therefore set itself the task of modifying the solution described there in such a way that once a higher level of stability is achieved and folding is also possible or facilitated by folding the base.
- the new way of folding in addition to the previous one makes it possible, among other things, for a fold line to be arranged between the inner edges, at least on a wide area of the bottle, which forms a defined crease line for folding when pressed together, thereby continuing into the material of the edge region.
- the triangular flattening is flush with the bottom edges, for example at an angle of 150 ° to 170 °.
- a further improvement in stability and a defined floor line guidance with an appealing design is achieved if the outer floor edges, from the inner ends of which have beads that converge to the center of the floor.
- the bottle 1 according to the invention largely corresponds in its hexagonal cross section to the structure of the main application with the outer edges 2 and the inner edges 10.
- Triangular-shaped flats (7; FIG. 2) are provided on the floor to the sides, the legs 8 of which taper to the outer edges 2, to which the rounded edges (9, FIG. 2) connect and which merge into four floor edges 4 below, which the latter are brought together in the middle in an upward collection 5.
- the bottom edges 4 form the four storage areas of the bottle 1.
- a fold line 16 runs at least on a wide area 12, which is embossed by profiling in the blow mold.
- the fold line is oriented such that it runs parallel to the bottom edges 4 at the intersection of the legs 8 of the triangular flattening and ends at the inner edges 10.
- To fold the bottle 1 is placed on a pad. With the hands the bottle is then pressed in in the area of the fold line, the bottom folding over. The bottom is pressed onto the bottle and the bottle is pressed flat and air is removed from the inside.
- the folding of the bottle body can be facilitated by the inwardly drawn beads 15 arranged parallel to the outer edges at a short distance from these (about 5 mm), these beads being able to extend to the upper thread edge 17.
- Figure 2 shows a narrow view of the fillets 9 and the profile of the bottom edges 4, which can also be slightly rounded.
- the high, longitudinal central edge 6 between the bottom edges can be seen, as can the triangular flattening 7 between the legs 8 and the bottom-side transition lines 18 from the bottom surface to the flattening 7.
- the fold lines 16 can be seen, which end at the inner edges 10 and of which only one is required in principle.
- Figure 3 shows the bottom 3 in plan view.
- the bottle converges at acute angles ⁇ between the legs 8 and is drawn up to the triangular flattened portions 7 here.
- the transition lines 18 complete the flattening 7 below. These are followed by the four, slightly inwardly laid bottom edges 4, on which the bottle rests, the flat 7 adjoins the bottom edges 4 at an angle ⁇ (150 ° - 170 °) (FIG. 1).
- the bottom edges do not run as far as the formed transverse line 11, but end approximately halfway and are continued below, to the center of the floor 14 via floor beads 13, thereby forming triangular regions 19 rising to the transverse line 11.
- the central edge 6 is raised and formed by the shape division during blowing.
- the bottle can also be folded over this line if you just flatten it while lying down without folding the bottom beforehand.
