Abstract

The machine comprises a frame (1) containing at least one tray (2, 3) of granules which fall freeely into a tube (4) from which they are pushed by an Archimedean screw (6) into a preheating chamber (7) which turns them into a pasty material. Said material then passes into a heating element (11) for heating up to a suitable temperature for extrusion by means of an spreading slot (14) between two slightly projecting rods (15) on which the edges of the skis rest. This machine for repairing plastic glide surfaces of skis works, for example but not exclusively, by extruding plastic in the form of polyethylene granules.

Description

Machine à ressemeler les skis. Machine to resole skis.
The present invention relates to a machine for repairing plastic ski soles, worn or damaged during use.
The methods currently known for resowing skis essentially consist in depositing a plastic film on the surface to be restored and in welding it under the action of hot air with pressure means, as described in patent FR-A-2 205 351 , or else to overmold on the sole a thermoplastic material conveyed in the form of solid wire through a heating block to produce a spreading pad of the filler material as claimed in patent FR-A-2,391,054.
The machine which is the subject of the invention operates in a completely different manner. It proceeds, in fact, by extruding plastic material in the form of polyethylene granules pushed through the nozzle of a heating body on which the ski rests under the pressure of a roller which drives it. .
As the ski advances, also resting on guides located in front and behind the machine, the extruder deposits a thin strip of molten plastic, which, by thermal transfer and by the pressure of the ski on the heating body, is welded to the sole of the ski to be restored, filling in the cavities and leveling the roughness.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the machine comprises at least one container of granules which fall by gravity into a tube where they are pushed, by an Archimedes screw, into a preheating body putting them in the pasty state. Always pushing, the pasty material passes through a heating body where it is brought to an adequate temperature for its extrusion through a widening slot surrounded by two bars on which the ski rests by its edges. The drive of the ski and its pressure on the rods of the extruder are obtained by a roller driven by a microreducer subjected to the adjustable thrust of a pneumatic cylinder ensuring, moreover, the upward and downward movement of said roller. The presentation of the ski and its reception after passing over the extruder take place on adjustable telescopic arms. At the front of the machine, a spreader centers the ski and activates the start. At the rear, the ski is centered by three rollers which protect the repair. A compressor, regulation and control means complete the machine to ensure its proper functioning.
In any case, the invention will be better understood from the description which follows, referring to the appended drawings of an exemplary embodiment given by way of indication, without limitation.

In the drawings, the reference 1 designates the machine in general and in particular its bodywork. At the top are provided two tanks 2 and 3, forming reservoirs for one and / or two colors of granules 5 in one and / or two qualities of plastic. Preferably, but not exclusively, polyethylene granules are used. Each tank 2 or 3 is extended downwards by a tube 4 containing an Archimedean screw 6 and partially penetrating into a preheating body 7 equipped with a heating collar 5, regulated in temperature by a thermostat 9 with probe , electrically controlled.
Each preheating body 7 communicates with an extrusion body 11 illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4, provided with heating cartridges 12 regulated in temperature by a thermostat 13 with probe, electrically controlled.
The body 11 is hollowed out of an extrusion slot 14 bordered by two cylindrical bars 15 slightly projecting from the plane of said slot.
In front of the extrusion slot 14 is disposed a plate 16 heated by radiation.
Above each extrusion block 11 is provided a roller 17 centered at the end of an arm 18 and connected, 20 by a transmission, to a geared motor 19. The arm 18 is mounted oscillating and is coupled to a pneumatic cylinder 20 which controls the upward or downward movement of the roller 17. The pneumatic cylinders 20 are supplied by a compressor 21, the pressure of which is regulated by a pressure reducer 22 and which are controlled by a pedal 23. The speed of rotation of the rollers 17 is regulated by an electronic variator 25 with manual control.
In front and back of the machine 1 are fixed 30 telescopic supports 24 which extend horizontally and are equipped with support rollers 26 of the skis.
Chaque mâchoire comporte un sabot pivotant 30 et l'une desdites mâchoires 27 commande un commutateur 31.In front of the machine and anteriorly to the extrusion block 11 is provided an introduction guide consisting of two jaws 27 articulated by a common axis 28 and 35. recalled by a spring 29 towards each other as the shows FIG. 5. Each jaw comprises a pivoting shoe 30 and one of said jaws 27 controls a switch 31.
En façade de la machine 1 est disposé le tableau de commande sur lequel (Fig.l) les boutons T,T1 et T2, commandent respectivement les thermostats 9, 13 et le variateur 25.Behind the machine and after the extrusion block 11 is provided an outlet guide 32 consisting of a stirrup 33 between the branches of which is mounted the axis 34 of three rollers; two lateral rollers 35 framing a median roller 36 of smaller diameter, braced by sockets 37. On the front of the machine 1 is arranged the control panel on which (Fig.l) the buttons T, T1 and T2, respectively control the thermostats 9, 13 and the speed controller 25.
Le fonctionnement de la machine à lieu de la façon suivante :The operation of the machine takes place as follows:
On suppose que l'on utilise le dispositif de res¬ semelage disposé à gauche de la machine (Figure 1).It is assumed that we use the sole res¬ device placed on the left of the machine (Figure 1).
The ski to be restored, supported by the front roller 26, is presented at the entrance to the jaw guide 27 which deviates triggering the switch 31 controlling the motor organs of the machine.
The granules 5 contained in the tank 2 fall by gravity into the tube 4 where they are pushed by the screw 6 into the preheating body 7 where they turn into paste.
Still pushed by the screw 6, the pasty material passes into the heating body 11 where it is brought to the extrusion temperature by the heating cartridges 12, then it is laminated by the nozzle 14 and leaves between the two bars 15 of treated steel on which the edges of the ski are supported as it advances, pressed and driven by the roller 17 controlled by the gear motor 19.
La vitesse de passage du ski sur le bloc d'extrusion 11 est régularisée par le variateur 25 commandé par le bouton T2.The speed of passage of the ski on the extrusion block 11 is regulated by the variator 25 controlled by the T2 button.
The centering of the ski takes place, at the entrance, by means of the shoes ' 30 and, at the exit, by means of the rollers 35 and 36 which prevent the excess of repair material from being able to weld to the restored sole.
The thin extruded strip of plastic is welded by thermal transfer of the material brought against the deteriorated sole of the ski, helped by the pressure of the roller 17 which applies the ski against the extrusion body 11, which only allows 'a thickness of a few hundredths of a millimeter above the edges and cancels the risk of apparent defect due to the shrinkage of the plastic.
To facilitate this welding, the ski is tempered without contact before its repair by passing over the preheating plate 16, which makes it possible not to overheat the core of the ski, nor the original sole, the contact with the heating body of extrusion 11 being only linear at the edges and during a passage of very short duration.
The stop is triggered before the end of the passage, so as to avoid spillage of the material by wiping,
This machine makes it possible to feed two different extrusions controllable together or separately, with low, medium and high density polyethylenes in order to provide a choice of material best suited to the quality of the original ski and, consequently, to have a substantially identical level of gliding on the repair and sole of said ski. Thanks to its two extrusion stations, the performance of this machine is exceptional and, as the ski passes with the sole turned down, its fixa¬ tion can be kept in place. It suffices to add a bridge for the jam, placed on the ski without fixing or prior adjustment.
