Abstract

A gripper finger for a gripper spindle in a sheet-fed printing press includes first and second components. The first component has a gripper finger extension which contacts a gripper finger support at a transfer point. The first and second components cooperate to form an enclosure angle for enclosing the gripper spindle, with the first component contributing a maximum of 180 degrees to the enclosure angle and the second component supplementing the enclosure angle. The second component is fastened to the gripper spindle. A first compression spring is disposed between the ends of the first and second for exerting an adjustable, first spring force approximately in a direction of the transfer point. An adjustment screw is threadably engaged with one of the components and has a tip which lies against the supporting plane of the other component for exerting a screw force approximately in a direction of the transfer point. The first spring force and the screw force combine to form a resultant force in the direction of a line connecting the center point of the gripper spindle and the transfer point. A second compression spring clamped between the first component and the gripper spindle urges the first component against the gripper finger with a force greater than the first spring force and in a direction which essentially coincides with the direction of the resultant force.

Description

The invention relates to a gripper finger of a gripper shaft of a sheet-fed printing press with a first compression spring with adjustable spring force, which exerts a force approximately in the direction of the transfer point of the gripper pad, furthermore with an adjusting screw resting with its tip on a support plane, which likewise has a force approximately in the direction of the transfer point exerts the gripper pad, the arrangement being such that it is a vector resulting from the two forces, which connects approximately the center of the gripper shaft approximately to the transfer point.

A gripper finger with these features, which has proven itself in and of itself, is described in DE 36 32 768 C1. A particular advantage of this known gripper finger, of which the present invention also makes use, is that the resulting forces occurring during operation pass through the center of the gripper, namely more or less in a line that connects the center of the gripper shaft with the transfer point of the gripper support . This gives the very important advantage that there is practically no play change in the different operating states, compared to other known gripper fingers which do not make use of this principle.

However, such gripper fingers are subject to relatively high wear. To replace worn gripper fingers, the gripper shaft must be removed completely and only then can the gripper fingers be removed from the gripper shaft. Of course, this is labor intensive and leads to unacceptable long downtimes of the machine today.

An arrangement has already remedied this, which is described in DE 36 23 405 C1. The gripper finger described there is constructed in two parts, it consisting of a lower gripper finger part and an upper gripper finger part located directly above it, the ends of which are adjacent to the transfer point and are spread by a compression spring. At the other ends there is a set screw that regulates the distance between the two parts of the gripper fingers. Both gripper finger parts are fastened to the gripper shaft by a screw which passes through a hole in the upper gripper finger part and which is screwed into a thread in the gripper shaft. The lower gripper finger part has a recess with a cylindrical part profile such that it bears against the gripper shaft from the same side (top side), where the upper gripper finger part is also arranged.

This known gripper finger has the advantage of easy assembly and disassembly, because only the fastening screw has to be loosened for this, but there is a large play change when opening and closing the gripper and therefore a displacement of the gripper tip, the extent of which depends on the wear of the gripper bearing. This wear and the change of game have the consequence that the sheets duplicate.

The prior art is also referred to DE-PS 11 74 804, which shows a gripper finger, the body spans an opening of about 180 °, so that the gripper finger can be placed on the gripper shaft without this having to be dismantled . The body of the gripper finger opened in this way is closed by a spring, the spring force of which is adjustable. However, this known gripper finger still has the ones explained above Disadvantages of wear and the game change, especially because the spring closing the opening does not provide sufficient resistance for this. Nor is it ensured that the forces exerted by a compression spring and a contact surface intersect in such a way that the resultant of these two forces connects the center point of the gripper shaft to the transfer point, as is also an essential feature of the invention.

The invention avoids the disadvantages described. It is the object of the invention to propose a gripper finger with the features mentioned at the outset which, while maintaining the advantages thereby achieved, can be easily mounted on the gripper shaft without play changes in the various operating states, not even after a longer operating time. Rather, there should be automatic play compensation when the gripper bearing surface or the gripper shaft is worn.

The object is achieved by the device according to the characterizing features of claim 1.

The two-part design of the gripper finger makes it easy to assemble and disassemble the shaft, the second gripper finger part complementing the first gripper finger part to form a body which, when assembled, encloses the gripper shaft by an angle greater than 180 °, so that the gripper finger is captive overall the gripper shaft is held. While the first compression spring tries to spread the relevant ends of the two gripper finger parts from one another, the second compression spring presses the second gripper finger part with a greater force on the gripper shaft, as a result of which the arrangement remains stable. The second compression spring must not, or at least not significantly, disrupt the course of the resulting force, which, as mentioned, connects the center of the gripper shaft with the transfer point of the gripper support, and for this reason the direction of force of the second compression spring runs in the direction of the line that forms the center connects the gripper shaft to the transfer point, or at least essentially in this connecting line.

The spring force of the second compression spring can be adjustable by suitable means. In other embodiments, which are structurally simpler, the spring force can also be predetermined.

The forces exerted on the second pressure piece are particularly compensated for when it is screwed to the gripper shaft at the end facing away from the first pressure spring. In any case, it is preferred if the second gripper finger part is screwed to the gripper shaft, and not the first gripper finger part.

For the mounting of the second gripper finger part on the first gripper finger part there is a structurally particularly simple and space-saving solution if the second gripper finger part is received in a recess between lateral flanges of the first gripper finger part.

The contact surfaces of the two parts of the gripper fingers on the gripper shaft can have a circular profile. However, the arrangement made results in such good contact with the gripper shaft that it is preferred if the contact surfaces of at least one of the two gripper finger parts are rib-shaped for contact with the gripper shaft. As a result, narrow contact surfaces are formed, which ensure a defined and reproducible contact of the gripper finger on the gripper shaft and which also contribute to achieving the object according to the invention.

The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of exemplary embodiments, from which further important features result. It shows:

First, the basic structure of the gripper finger according to the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to FIG. 1. This sits on a gripper shaft 1. The gripper support is indicated at item 2. Between the finger part 3 of the gripper finger and the gripper support 2, this results in a transfer point 4 of the gripper finger on its gripper support. Here the gripper finger holds the sheets - not shown in the drawing.

The gripper finger is basically constructed in two parts, a first gripper finger part 5 having an essentially U-shaped profile in such a way that an opening of somewhat less than 180 ° is formed so that the first gripper finger part can be pushed onto the gripper shaft.

The first gripper finger part 5 is supplemented by a second gripper finger part 6, which complements the opening of the first gripper finger part at an angle of noticeably over 180 °, so that in the assembled state of the gripper finger the opening is closed to such an extent that the completed gripper finger moves the gripper shaft around the corresponding one Angle of more than 180 ° and is therefore held captive. The second gripper finger part 6 is fastened to the gripper shaft 1 by means of a screw 7. The second gripper finger part 6 extends from a contact surface 8 to an extension 9, which receives a set screw 10. The extension 9 merges at a point 11 into the main part of the second gripper finger part 6 and up to this point 11 the second gripper finger part 6 bears against the shaft 1 in the assembled state.

An inner edge 12 of the first gripper finger part 5 is shown in broken lines in FIG. 1, from which it is clear that the U-shaped first gripper finger part has an opening such that it can be pushed radially onto the gripper shaft. The leg delimited by the edge 12 runs more or less parallel to the opposite leg 13 of the U-profile of the first gripper finger part.

Er geht durch den Übergangspunkt 4.A first compression spring 14 is arranged between the leg 13 of the first gripper finger part 5 and the extension 9 of the second gripper finger part 6, one end of which is supported in a corresponding recess 15 on the leg 13. The other end of the spring is held by a pin 16 of the set screw 10. With the help of the screw, the pressure force of the spring 14 can be adjusted. This pressure force tries to spread the legs 9, 13. Your force vector is indicated at item 17. It goes through transition point 4.

Approximately in the middle of the U-profile of the first gripper finger part 5, a set screw 19 is screwed into an extension 18 of this gripper finger part, the tip of which rests on the contact surface 8 of the second gripper finger part 6. This creates a force vector, which is indicated at item 20. 1 shows that the vector 20 also passes through the transfer point 4.

The two vectors 17, 20 add up so that a resulting vector 21 is created which connects the transfer point 4 to the center 22 of the gripper shaft 1, i.e. with the axis of the gripper shaft.

The second gripper finger part 6 is guided and received between lateral flanges 23 of the first gripper finger part 5. Flanges 24 of the first gripper finger part 5 stiffen this.

A receptacle for a second compression spring 25, the force vector 26 of which coincides with the vector 21, is also created between the flanges 23. The upper side of this second compression spring 25 is supported on the upward-pointing extension of the first gripper finger part 5, which extension leads to the finger part 3. With its underside, the second compression spring 25 exerts pressure on the second gripper finger part 6 and thus presses it against the gripper shaft 1. The force of the second compression spring 25 is greater than that of the first compression spring 14. FIG. 1 also shows that the force of the second compression spring 25 is exerted on the gripper shaft via rib-shaped or wedge-shaped surfaces 11, 27, between which the material is drawn in a V-shape is. Corresponding rib-shaped supports can also be provided on the first gripper finger part 5, preferably at the point opposite the ribs 11, 27, or also distributed over the support.

In the embodiment shown in Figure 1, the force of the second compression spring 25 can be adjusted. For this purpose, an adjusting screw 28 is provided which interacts with a wedge 29, the wedge surface of which rests on a counter-wedge surface of the second compression spring 25. If the screw 28 is screwed more or less into the finger 3, the wedge 29 moves and the force of the second compression spring 25 is increased or decreased accordingly.

In FIG. 2 this is a leg spring 25a, the bent ends of which engage in corresponding receptacles on the finger 3 or on the gripper finger part 6, in FIG. 3 this is a leaf spring 25b, the tip of which likewise fits into a corresponding receptacle of the second gripper finger part 6 engages and which is fastened to the finger part 3 by means of a screw 30. 4, a V-shaped leaf spring 25c is provided, the legs of which are placed around the block-shaped contact piece 31 of the second gripper finger part 6 and the tip of which engages in a corresponding receptacle on the finger part 3.

In Fig. 5 the arrangement is such that the second compression spring 25d is supported with its lower end directly on the gripper shaft 1, for which purpose it passes through a corresponding hole in the second gripper finger part 6. It is common to all embodiments that the other end of the second compression spring 25 is supported on the first gripper finger part 5 or on the finger part 3 thereof.

Fig. 5 also shows that it is not necessary for the second compression spring 25 to be supported on the second gripper finger part 6, because this is fastened to the gripper shaft 1 via the screw 7. However, the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 4 is preferred in which the second gripper finger part is pressed against the gripper shaft via the second compression spring. The second compression spring 25 is used to compensate for play and for this reason it is only essential for them to exert a force between the first gripper finger part and the gripper shaft in the direction of the vectors 21, 26 which coincide essentially in space.
