Abstract

Dann verlaufen die Folienbandabschnitte zwischen den Kufen über die Unterseite des Palettenoberbretts bzw. der dort vorhandenen Unterzüge der Palette, so daß der Raum zwischen den Kufen im wesentlichen frei bleibt und die Paletteneinheit problemlos mit einem Handwagen verfahren werden kann. Weil das Folienband im Bereich der Fußseite der Paletteneinheit ausschließlich zwischen den Kufen durchgeführt wird, ist auch die Gefahr von Beschädigungen und damit die Beeinträchtigung der Ladungssicherheit wesentlich herabgesetzt. Die Kopfseite der Paletteneinheit wird vollständig abgedeckt und damit die vertikale Vorspannung gleichmäßig über die Fläche der Kopfseite verteilt. Der Drehring (11) wird wieder in eine Drehbewegung versetzt, so daß - von der Oberkante des Gutstapels (19) beginnend - die Paletteneinheit (17) horizontal umwickelt wird. Claims (9)

  1. Method of wrapping a pallet unit, comprising a stack of goods and a pallet, with a strip of film, wherein the pallet unit (17) is wrapped with the strip of film (28) substantially horizontally over its vertical sides and is also wrapped with the strip of film (28) substantially vertically over the top and bottom ends and over at least one pair of oppositely situated vertical sides, characterised in that, during the vertical wrapping process, the pallet unit (17) is so displaced horizontally and transversely relative to the configuration of the runners (25, 26, 27) that the strip of film (28) comes to lie in the region of the bottom end between the runners (25, 26, 27) of the pallet (18), but uniform wrapping also continues to be effected in the remaining region.
  2. Apparatus for implementing the method according to claim 1, comprising an apparatus frame, on which is mounted at least one satellite so as to be rotatably driven and motor-driven on a circular path, which has a means for receiving a roll of film strip and a means, which is especially brakable, for unwinding the strip of film, characterised in that the mounting of the satellite (12) is pivotable between a circular path extending in a horizontal plane and a circular path extending in a vertical plane.
  3. Apparatus according to claim 2, characterised in that the satellite or the satellites is or are mounted on a supporting frame (6, 10), which is mounted on one side of the apparatus frame (2) so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis (7) and so as to be vertically raisable and lowerable.
  4. Apparatus according to claim 2 or 3, characterised in that the satellite or the satellites is or are disposed on a rotatable ring (11), which is rotatably mounted on a supporting ring (10).
  5. Apparatus according to one of claims 2 to 4, characterised in that the apparatus frame (2) has associated therewith a moving carriage (21), which has projecting supporting arms (24), which are insertable through the area which is occupied and surrounded by the circular path in the vertical position.
  6. Apparatus according to claim 5, characterised in that the supporting arms (24) have a vertical spacing from the chassis (22) of the moving carriage (21) such that the satellite (12) or the satellites is or are traversable in the vertical position of the circular path between supporting arms (24) and chassis (22).
  7. Apparatus according to one of claims 2 to 6, characterised in that the apparatus (1) has a supporting table (14) for the pallet unit (17), which table is provided with conveyor means (15) for the displacement of the pallet unit (17) perpendicular to the plane of the circular path of the satellite (12) or satellites in the vertical position.
  8. Apparatus according to one of claims 2 to 7, characterised in that the apparatus (1) has a vertically displaceable supporting table (14).
  9. Apparatus according to claim 8, characterised in that the width of the supporting table (14) is smaller than the free spacing between two supporting arms (24) of the moving carriage (21).
