Definitions

  • the invention relates to a can for removing blockages, in particular in drains from sinks, sinks or the like, with a can body which receives a pressure medium and which is closed by an openable valve.
  • Blockages in drains from sinks, wash basins, bathtubs or the like are removed manually, for example, by means of a rubber bellows, which sucks in air and via which this sucked in air can be pressed into a drain. This is very tedious and not very successful, since the rubber bellows can be very difficult to adapt to the different topographies within a sink.
  • the inventor has set itself the goal of developing a can of the type mentioned above, which works absolutely environmentally friendly and with which blockages can be removed very effectively.
  • the can body is filled with a liquid and a gas.
  • water can be used as liquid and compressed air as gas.
  • other liquids and gases are also encompassed by the inventive idea.
  • the can When in use, the can is usually placed with the valve on the drain, with the water collecting on the valve itself and the gas being in the upper part of the can body.
  • the valve When the valve is opened, the water shoots out of the valve preferably suddenly and impacts the water column on the blockage or the blockage itself.
  • the water column or the blockage is put under high pressure, which releases the blockage.
  • the subsequent gas increases the speed of the liquid so that the dirt is flushed out.
  • the gas following the liquid then effects further cleaning of the pipeline or the like.
  • the can body is conveniently filled with approximately 60% liquid and approximately 40% gas.
  • the invention is also applicable when liquid and gas are not entered directly into a can body but into a crushable bag in the can body. These two-chamber cans are known in the art.
  • the pressurization of the crushable bag takes place in the space between the can body and the crushable bag itself, so that the actual content of the crushable bag itself is not under pressure.
  • the valve is preferably opened via a cover which can be placed on the corresponding drain.
  • This lid is connected to a valve nipple so that the valve is opened when the lid is pressed.
  • the cover is screwed onto the valve nipple, the valve being designed as a tilting or pressure valve.
  • a preferred feature of this valve is that the closing takes place by means of a closing plate which strikes against the valve base from the inside of the can body. When pressure is exerted on the valve nipple, this closing plate is lifted off the valve base so that the medium to be dispensed can escape to the outside through the distance between the valve base and closing plates and the valve nipple.
  • Screwing the cover onto the valve nipple has the advantage that an annular side wall of the cover can stand on a shoulder of the can body, thus securing the valve in its closed position. This facilitates the transport and also the handling of the can according to the invention, since the housewife can only unscrew the lid to a desired extent when the can is in use, so that there is a certain freedom of movement of the valve nipple, which can lead to a lifting of the closing plate from the valve bottom .
  • the invention provides that the side wall of the cover has a predetermined breaking line or a perforation strip which can be broken or otherwise removed by the housewife. This is also intended to release the cover and thus the valve nipple. The entire ring of the side wall formed by the perforation line can be removed similarly to bottle closures.
  • the cover forms a funnel around the valve nipple, so that the medium to be discharged can be distributed into the openings of the outflow, which are generally arranged in a ring.
  • an edge bevel is provided on the lid next to an attachment edge, which covers a larger area of different discharge diameters in relation to the diameter.
  • the can can be refilled either via the valve or via a corresponding bottom valve. This also contributes to environmental protection.
  • a can P according to the invention has, according to FIG. 1, an approximately cylindrical can body 1, the diameter of which tapers at one end to form a shoulder 2 which surrounds a can opening 4 with a flanged edge 3.
  • a valve 5 is inserted into the can opening 4 and is designed, for example, as a tilting or pressure valve. This valve overlaps with a rim collar 6 and is sealed against this.
  • a sleeve 8 protrudes from a valve base 7, in which a force accumulator (not shown) sits.
  • This energy accumulator holds a closing plate 9 in the position shown in FIG. 1, in which the valve is closed. Against the pressure of the energy accumulator, this closing plate 9 can be opened by pressing in the direction x on a valve nipple 10, for which purpose a longitudinal bore, also not shown, is provided in the valve nipple 10.
  • a content contained in the can body 1 can then escape through a distance between the valve base 7 and the closing plate 9 and the corresponding longitudinal bore through the valve nipple 10.
  • a crushable bag 11 shown in dashed lines, is inserted into the can body 1, the space 12 between the can body 1 and the bag 11 being pressurizable. This pressure causes the contents of the bag 11 to escape through the valve 5 when the valve 5 is opened, the bag 11 being crumpled.
  • the valve 5 is preferably opened by means of a cover 14.
  • the cover 14 is screwed onto the valve nipple 10 or an external thread 17 via an annular sleeve 15 with an internal thread 16.
  • the cover 14 widens conically into a funnel 18 and then merges into a mounting rim 19.
  • a stop shoulder 20 adjoins this attachment edge 19, the diameter of which is delimited by an annular side wall 21.
  • the side wall 21 stands on the shoulder 2. In this way it is avoided that the valve 5 is opened unintentionally, for example during transport. After filling the can body 1, if this does not take place through a bottom valve, but via the can opening, the valve 5 is placed on the flanged edge 3 and the can opening 4 is thus closed. The cover 14 is then screwed onto the valve nipple 10 until the side wall 21 stands on the shoulder 2.
  • a perforation strip 22 is provided on the lid 14.
  • This perforation strip 22 can consist of an arrangement of holes 23 or be a known other securing strip. If this perforation strip 22 is broken or removed, the lid 14 can be screwed upward with the exception of a residual ring 24 of the side wall 21 in the direction x. If, for example, the entire can P is placed on the mounting edge 19, this pressure acting there is transmitted in the direction x to the valve nipple 10, so that the closing plate 9 is lifted off the valve base 7. The content in the can body 1 can now escape through this distance between the valve base 7 and the closing plate 9 and the longitudinal bore in the valve nipple 10.
  • liquid and gas in particular water and compressed air or nitrogen
  • such a can P is placed on a drain, for example a sink, and the valve 5 is opened by pressure on the fitting edge 19.
  • the water first flows out of the valve 5, whereby it is distributed according to the funnel 18 to the annularly distributed openings of the drain. With its hydraulic pressure, this water acts either on the water column still present or on the blockage directly. The high pressure of the water causes the drain to be flushed out, the water being accelerated by the air that then also flows out.
  • the cover 14a in FIG. 2 indicates a bevel 25 on the attachment edge 19, which can take these different diameters into account. A further sealing is then also carried out by the stop shoulder 20.
  • the pressure curve is shown using two examples.
  • Curve A shows the pressure curve for a can with a filling volume of 400 ml and an outlet pressure of 12 bar at approx. 20 ° C.
  • the second curve B describes the pressure curve when using a can with a filling volume of 500 ml at the same outlet pressure.
  • the filling volume of the can is roughly adapted to the volume of the free drain pipe cross-section up to the pipe elbow (location of the main blockage), so that a water pressure column can build up to the drain strainer (pressure can).
  • the pressure curve in the can can be regulated via the filling volume, whereby both the pressure effect and the flushing effect can be selected.
