Die Erfindung betrifft ein Signierelement zum Kennzeichnen bzw. Numerieren von Holz, insbesondere von Baumstämmen, nach der Gattung des Anspruchs 1 sowie ein Verfahren zur Herstellung derartiger Signierelemente und eine Einschlagvorrichtung zum Anbringen der Signierelemente am zu signierenden Holz.The invention relates to a marking element for marking or numbering wood, in particular tree trunks, according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method for producing such marking elements and a wrapping device for attaching the marking elements to the wood to be signed.

Beispielsweise aus der GB-A-2075464 oder der FR-A-2638555 bekannte Signierelemente, die häufig auch als sogenannte Signierplättchen bezeichnet werden, verwendet man, um Holz mit einer bleibenden Signatur zu versehen, so daß eine nachfolgende Manipulation des Holzes unter Berücksichtigung der Signatur erfolgen kann. Beispielsweise kann mit den Signierelementen eine Durchnumerierung von Holzabschnitten gefällter Bäume erfolgen, um die Zusammenstellung von an Abnehmer abzugebenden Liefereinheiten ohne nochmalige Datenerfassung zu ermöglichen. Häufiger Abnehmer ist die Papier-, Zellstoff- und Plattenindustrie, die das Holz zu Papier, Zellstoff oder Platten weiterverarbeitet. Vor dieser Verarbeitung müssen die Signierelemente, sofern sie aus Metall bestehen, allerdings wieder vom Holz entfernt werden, da ansonsten Messer und Sägen der Verarbeitungsmaschinen beschädigt werden. Bei Verwendung von Signierelementen aus Kunststoff erleidet die Papier-, Zellstoff- und Plattenindustrie durch Fremdteile und Schlierbildung nicht akzeptable Qualitätseinbußen. Das Entfernen der Signierelemente ist jedoch sehr zeitaufwendig und kann überdies häufig nur unvollständig geschehen, da die durch Einschlagen fest im Holz verankerten Befestigungsteile der Signierelemente nicht selten abbrechen und im Holz als störende Rückstände verbleiben. Claims (14)

  1. Marking element for the identification or numbering of wood, in particular of tree trunks, with a marking body, in particular of laminar or disk-shaped construction, with at least one wooden mounting part projecting from the marking body in the mounting direction for pressing or driving into the wood to be marked, the marking body and the at least one mounting part forming separate parts which are, at least when fitted to the wood to be marked, firmly attached to each other, and with at least one mounting recess in the marking body, characterized in that the at least one mounting recess (18) forms a positive and complete receptacle for a complementary mounting section (19) of the at least one mounting part (6), and in that the fibres (29) in the marking body (2), which is also made of wood, run across, in particular at right angles or at least substantially right angles, to the fibres (30) in the mounting parts (6) fitted to the marking body (2), their fibres (30) running at least approximately in the mounting direction (7).
  2. Marking element according to Claim 1, characterized in that the mounting parts (6) are fixed to the marking body (2), e.g. by bonding, interference fit or clamping, preferably in the area of a dovetail section of the mounting part (6) in question.
  3. Marking element according to Claim 1 or 2 characterized in that the mounting face (5) of the marking body (2), which lies opposite its marking face (3) carrying the identification or number (4), is provided with at least one oblong, in particular slot- or groove-shaped and preferably linear, mounting recess (18) open towards at least one point of the edge (20) of the marking body, the corresponding edge cut-out expediently forming an insertion opening (21) by way of which the mounting section (19) of the mounting part (6) to be located can be laterally installed or inserted into the mounting recess (18).
  4. Marking element according to Claim 3, characterized in that a mounting part (6) is longitudinally located in the mounting recess (18) by means of at least one pinch point or indentation provided on the marking body, the pinch or indentation point (27) being expediently located in the area of the longitudinal edge of the mounting recess (18), preferably on the side of the mounting part (6) associated with the insertion opening (21).
  5. Marking element according to Claim 3 or 4, characterized in that two mounting recesses (18) are arranged opposite and at a distance from each other, preferably lying parallel to each other, each being expediently closed at one of its axial ends (22) while ending in an insertion opening (21) at opposite edges of the marking body.
  6. Marking element according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the mounting recess (18) has a mounting cross-section widening from the mounting face (5) towards the marking face (3), having, for instance, a dovetail-, T- or segment-shape flattened on the side facing the mounting face (5).
  7. Marking element according to any of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the mounting recesses (18) penetrate the marking body (2) from the mounting face (5) to the marking face, and in that the mounting parts (6) are inserted in mounting direction.
  8. Marking element according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the mounting recesses (18) are allocated to the axial end sections of the fibres (29) of the marking body (2), oblong mounting rececces (18) in particular lying across the grain in the marking body (2).
  9. Marking element according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that at least the marking body (2) is formed by a laminar body comprising a plurality of coinciding wood layers (24) of mininal thickness, the surfaces of which are firmly bonded together.
  10. Marking element according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that surface areas (37), in particular near the free anchorage ends (8) of the mounting parts (6) to be driven into the wood to be marked, are improved by paste-like or liquid resins or binders exuded by the wood of the marking element, the exudation of the hardening constituents of the wood being expediently caused by heat, preferably generated by polishing and/or smoothing and/or finishing the surface area (37) of the wood.
  11. Method for the production of marking elements according to any of the preceding claims, whereby sections (37) of the wood, in particular in the area of the anchorage ends (8) of the mounting parts (6), are subjected to quick, shock-like heating and the inherent, in particular paste-like, adhesives or resins exuded by the wood are left to dry on or set, the heat being in particular generated while the wood is smoothed, polished, or finished by means of hot metal strips such as steel strips.
  12. Driving device for marking element according to any of Claims 1 to 11, with a driving head to which a signing element can be detachably so fitted that its at least one mounting part projects from the driving head in the driving direction, characterized in that for each mounting part (6) at least one cutting element (50) is provided, the cutting section (51) of which lies in front of the mounting part (6) in starting position and is capable of moving laterally and in particular simultaneously against the driving direction out of the driving path of the mounting part (6) and in particular the marking body (2) when subjected to a force acting against the driving direction (43), enabling the cutting section (51) to produce an in particular slot-like recess in the wood to be marked at the beginning of a marking stroke, while being removed from the driving path during the continuation of the driving stroke, during and/or following which the mounting part (6) is driven into the recess produced.
  13. Driving device according to Claim 12, characterized in that each cutting element (50) expediently biased towards its starting position by a spring (54) is movable, in particular guided, along a guide device (52), the preset direction of movement expediently adopting an acute angle relative to the driving direction (43).
  14. Driving device according to Claim 12 or 13, characterized in that each cutting element (50) is movably mounted on a guide device (52) next to a retaining device (44, 44′) for the marking elements (1) at the driving head (40, 40′), starting from the guide device (52) and extending diagonally in the driving direction and at the same time in the direction of the driving path referred to above.
