Aus diesem Grund enthalten die Schutzkappen im allgemeinen einen weich eingestellten Kunststoffschaum zur Abpolsterung. Hierbei kann es sinnvoll sein, in den besonders gut zugänglichen Teilen der Schutzkappe Bedienungselemente anzuordnen, während in anderen Teilen, die weniger gut zugänglich sind, wie beispielsweise der Rückseite, elektrische Geräte, z.B. Platinen, angeordnet sein können.
