Description

The invention relates to a sieve centrifuge, in particular a sugar centrifuge with an upwardly widening, driven, conical centrifuge basket, in the area of smaller diameter of which the crystal suspension to be centrifuged is continuously added, in which area an upwardly conically expanding protective sieve of smaller size than the centrifuge basket is coaxial is attached, which rotates with the centrifuge basket and has sieve openings that do not let through coarse particles that could damage the centrifuge basket or a working sieve lying on the centrifuge basket.

From the German utility model DE-U-19 35 839 it is known to fasten a protective sieve over the working sieve of a centrifuge basket at such a distance that the crystal suspension passing through the protective sieve on the working sieve can flow along the working sieve. The deck water required to clean the solid is distributed to the protective screen through nozzles. It is accelerated on the protective screen surface and passed through the protective screen openings to the solid material lying outside on the working screen. Each screen opening is a separate one Nozzle that moved in the centrifugal field. Drops of water sprayed from a rotating nozzle are brought together under the influence of centrifugal force to form a few thick drops shortly after the outlet. Therefore, and because the protective screen openings do not move in the circumferential direction relative to the solid, only individual areas of the solid, but not the entire surface of the solid layer, are hit by the liquid drops. As a result, the goal of removing the adhering syrup from the crystals when centrifuging sugar crystal suspensions was only incompletely achieved. A centrifuge could only be operated with a protective sieve if no particularly high demands were made on the purity of the sugar, for example if by-product sugar was spun, but not if B sugar, A sugar or affection sugar had to be spun.

Another disadvantage of a protective screen according to utility model 1935839 was that there is congestion in the space between the working screen and the protective screen. The reason for this lies in the lack of thrust that the flowing crystal suspension usually exerts in continuous sugar centrifuges from below onto the solid layer lying on the working sieve. If the crystal suspension is not fed in from the bottom of the unperforated bottom basket area, but placed on a protective screen of the old design, it does not reach the working screen surface in its entirety on the boundary line between the working screen and the unperforated area, but rather distributed over a wide zone of the working screen. A push from below cannot develop.

Another disadvantage of a protective screen according to utility model 1935839 is the high peripheral speed of the protective screen in the upper area. Retained coarse particles press particularly hard on this Protective sieve, i.e. where only further transport is important and a low speed would have been sufficient. The crystal suspension has mostly penetrated the protective sieve in the lower quarter of the sieve. It is therefore unnecessarily heavily used in the upper area.

From DE-A-29 30 312 a screen centrifuge is known in which an inner screen part is provided which is firmly connected to the outer screen basket. This inner sieve part is composed of several wing-shaped parts that form sieve pockets. Coarse particles are not kept away from the sieve basket by these sieve pockets.

The object of the invention is to improve a centrifuge of the type mentioned in such a way that the mass on the working sieve is uniformly wetted with covering liquid and transported safely, that the protective device is also less stressed and thus has a longer service life.

The first part of the object is achieved in that such a wide annular space is created between the centrifuge basket or working sieve and protective sieve that nozzles can be attached in this annular space and spray the covering liquid directly onto the working sieve or onto the solid layer.

Due to the large distance between the protective screen and the working screen, covering liquid or covering water can be brought directly onto the solid layer on the working screen in the intermediate space, whereby the quality and the sliding of the solid on the working screen are significantly improved and evened out. A good washing effect is achieved because the uniform distribution of the cover liquid is not hindered by the protective sieve. Furthermore, the protective screen no longer needs to be built so easily due to the greater distance from the working screen, so that it is more wear-resistant.

Congestion on the working sieve is prevented by the crystal suspension being collected downward behind the protective sieve. The suspension is accelerated there, flows upwards and, with its entire mass, exerts a thrust on the suspension already on the working sieve and thus on the solids lying further up on the working sieve. This ensures constant transport on the working sieve.

The coarse particles sliding over the protective sieve are advantageously directed upwards over the centrifuge basket into the sugar chamber by a rotating funnel which has no sieve openings.

In order to prevent the coarse particles from pressing too hard on the rotating funnel, the protective sieve and funnel are advantageously not formed as a unit, but as two independently rotating components, the funnel rotating more slowly than the protective sieve and with its lower opening the upper edge of the protective sieve. A reliable transfer of the coarse particles from the protective screen to the funnel is achieved when the protective screen protrudes a few centimeters into the funnel. The protective screen needs a high speed so that high acceleration forces arise and the suspension flows completely through the relatively small protective screen openings and does not get onto the funnel, which is only supposed to transport the coarse parts that are dangerous for the working screen.

A particularly evenly distributed task over the circumference of the crystal suspension passing through the protective sieve onto the bottom edge of the basket or of the working sieve is achieved if a bell that widens downwards is coaxially attached to the underside of the funnel, the upper edge of which is of the same height or is lower than the upper edge of the protective sieve, the bell being the releases suspension through the protective screen onto the lower edge of the basket or work screen. The bell rotates at the same speed as the funnel and therefore slower than the basket. This leads to an even distribution of the crystal suspension on the sieve. Embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawings in vertical axial sections and are described in more detail below. Show it

A centrifuge, particularly for the production of sugar, has a conically expanding basket 1, the axis of rotation of which is perpendicular and which is driven by a motor 2. On its inside, the basket 1 carries a conical working sieve 3, the surface of which is parallel to the wall of the basket 1.

On the bottom of the basket 1 is a truncated cone-shaped protective sieve 4 coaxially attached, which extends upwards and whose height is less than half that of the working sieve 3. The diameter of the protective sieve 4 is less than half the diameter of the working sieve 3 at the same height, so that between the protective sieve 4 and the working sieve 3 there is an annular space 5, the width of which is so large that tubes 6 can extend into this intermediate space, the nozzles 7 of which deliver deck water onto the working sieve 3.

Die Drehzahl des Transporttrichters 8 ist stets geringer als die des Korbes 1 bzw. des Arbeitssiebes 3.Above the protective screen 4, a truncated cone-shaped funnel 8, which widens upwards, is mounted coaxially and rotatably, which is driven by a separate drive 9a. The lower edge 8a of the funnel 8 projects beyond the upper edge 4a of the protective screen, the diameter of the edge 8a being chosen only slightly larger than the diameter of the edge 4a. In this way, the protective screen 4 can transfer coarse parts to the funnel 8, which has no openings and transfers the coarse parts with its upper edge 8b to a channel 9 which is arranged in a circular and coaxial manner around the upper edge of the funnel 8 in a rotationally fixed manner. The The speed of the transport funnel 8 is always lower than that of the basket 1 or the work screen 3.

The mass or suspension to be centrifuged is fed via a coaxial filling tube 10, which projects with its lower end into the protective screen 4, so that the mass reaches the bottom of the basket 1 and from there to the inner wall of the protective screen 4. Except for the coarse constituents, the mass passes through the protective sieve 4 to the lower area of the working sieve 3, where the more liquid constituents reach the basket wall relatively early through the working sieve 3 and the remaining constituents flow upwards and are wetted by the nozzles 7.

The coarse constituents reach the funnel 8 from the upper edge of the protective sieve 4, which releases these constituents upwards to the channel 9.

In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the funnel 8 represents approximately an extension of the protective screen 4 in terms of arrangement and dimensions, but is a part separated from the protective screen 4 at different speeds. In an alternative, not shown, the funnel 8 can also be fastened to the protective screen 4, in particular in one piece with it, so that the wall of the protective screen 4 merges with the wall of the funnel 8 and differs from that of the protective screen in that it is in the area of Funnel has no openings. In this embodiment, the funnel 8 is not driven separately, but rotates with the protective screen at the same speed.

A tube 11 can be laterally displaced into the protective screen 4 and arranged axially parallel to the feed pipe 10, through the nozzles 12 of which steam is applied to the inner wall of the protective screen 4 and the floor. Can also go through a pipe 14 (Figure 2) water to be abandoned.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, a bell 13 widening downward is coaxially fastened to the underside of the funnel 8, the upper edge of which is equal to or lower than the upper edge 4a of the protective screen 4. The bell 13 gives up the mass passing through the protective screen 4 the lower edge of the basket 1 or the working screen 3.

The bell 13 has no sieve openings and has the shape of a hollow truncated cone.
