Claims (6)

  1. A terminal (1) for detachably attaching at least one electric cable to a preferably cylindrical or axially slightly conical pole of an accumulator or rechargeable battery or the like, preferably for motor vehicles, said terminal (1) having two clamping jaws (4, 5) which in the position of use accommodate the pole therebetween particularly in a form-locking manner, said clamping jaws having in the region of the pole an opening (3) accommodating the same and in their area projecting from the pole an intermediate slit or clearance (A), in particular one smaller than the diameter of the opening (3), and in the open position said clamping jaws being adapted to be slipped axially onto the pole and to be deformed toward each other and thereby clamped to the pole by means of a bolt (6) or similar tightenable fastener extending at the side of the pole in the area of the slit or clearance (A) and by means of a mating thread or mating component engaged by said bolt,
       characterized in that a projection (17), lug or the like for at least one additional cable connection is peripherally arranged on the side face of the terminal.
  2. A terminal as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the projection (17), lug or additional cable connection is arranged on at least one clamping jaw (5) at the side of the clamping zone.
  3. A terminal as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2, characterized in that further cable connections are provided on the lateral zones.
  4. A terminal as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the clamping jaws (4, 5) together with the projection(s) (17) or the like consist of non-ferrous metal, particularly brass, and the clamping bolt (6) consists of preferably corrosion-resistant steel.
  5. A terminal as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 4, chaacterized in that the clamping bolt (6) takes the form of a hexagon socket bolt.
  6. A terminal as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the nut (11) and the length of the barrel (7) of the clamping bolt (6) are co-ordinated to each other in such a way that, even if maximally clamped, the end of the clamping bolt (6) is within the nut (7).
