Abstract

The nozzle arm has a jet head (10) with outlet apertures (10b), a cylindrical nozzle arm pipe (9) and a reversing valve (12). During the lengthwise movements of the nozzle arm (3), the reversing valve (22) connects a hose pipe (13), connected to the outlet of a heating device, with a rinsing water channel (10d) or a douching water channel (10g). When the nozzle arm (3) is moved out, rinsing water is fed through the rinsing water channel (10d) across the outer surface (10i) of the rinsing head (10), and thus the jet head (10) is cleaned. Shortly before the nozzle arm (3) is completely moved out, the rinsing flow is interrupted, and douching water is fed through the douching water channel (10g), likewise via the hose pipe (13), into the jet head (10). When the nozzle arm (3) is moved back, the douching flow is interrupted and subsequently the jet head (10) is cleaned with rinsing water until the resting position is reached. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a shower arm according to the preamble of independent claim 1.

A shower arm of this type is known for example from US-A 4,570,274. This shower arm is moved with a drive from a retracted position to an extended position for cleaning in particular the rectal area of the toilet user and is withdrawn again after the cleaning process has ended. Such shower arms have long been common in sub-showers of high quality. If higher demands are placed on hygiene, this would be regular Cleaning the shower head required. In an under-shower with a swiveling shower arm according to DE-A 32 17 505, the shower head is in the swiveled-back position of the shower arm opposite a spray deflection element which deflects the water sprayed from the nozzle head back onto it in order to clean it. Since the deflecting element is in turn contaminated by entrained impurities by the water emerging from the unclean nozzle head, this deflecting element must also be cleaned or replaced. In the case of an under-shower with a shower arm that can be extended in the longitudinal direction, the attachment of such a deflection element would also be unfavorable.

The invention has for its object to provide a shower arm of the type mentioned, which automatically and effectively cleans each time you use the shower. Which and in which the control of the rinsing and shower water can be implemented simply and reliably. The object is achieved by the invention according to claim 1.

In the shower arm according to the invention, the nozzle head is cleaned directly and with certainty uncontaminated water via a rinsing water channel by rinsing. It is cleaned while the shower arm is moving, which is why this cleaning does not mean that the cycle is extended. Preferably, both when extending and when returning of the shower arm the nozzle head rinsed. A cleaning of the nozzle head immediately after the shower process is followed by further cleaning of the nozzle head later immediately before the next shower process. This also reliably removes contamination of the nozzle head that occurs between two under-shower uses. With the shower arm according to the invention there is therefore a high level of guarantee that there are hygienic conditions. It is essential that a water connection on the shower arm is sufficient, since separate channels for the rinsing and shower water are only required in the changeover valve.

According to a development of the invention, it is provided that a traveling changeover valve with a control disk is provided on the shower arm, which controls the supply of water into the rinsing and shower water channel. This allows a purely mechanical and safe control of the nozzle overflow and the shower process. Further advantageous features result from the remaining dependent claims and the following description.

Dieses Umschaltventil wird über eine Steuerscheibe 11 so gesteuert, dass zur gewünschten Zeit am Düsenkopf 10 Duschwasser oder Spülwasser zur reinigung des Düsenkopfes 10 austritt.1 and 2 show, the shower arm 3 is part of a unit with a bearing plate 1, a lever mechanism 37, a piston cylinder 36, a water distributor 34 and a rotary handle 35 for regulating the strength of the shower water emerging from the shower arm 3. The water distributor 34 is connected to the water supply network at a connecting part 38. By actuating a pressure switch, not shown here, the pressure chamber 39 of the piston cylinder 36 and, via a line hose 33, a heating device, not shown here, are connected to the water supply network. The pressure built up in the space 39 moves the cylinder piston 31 to the left against the force of a compression spring 32 in FIGS. 1 and 2. The lever gear 37 transmits the movement of the piston arm 18 and an arm 14 formed on the shower arm 3 to the shower arm 3, so that it extends forward and downward from a guide 5 in the view according to FIG. 1. A nozzle head 10 of the Shower arm 3 is thereby brought into a position suitable for cleaning the rectal area of the toilet user. The water flowing through the heating device at the same time passes through the line hose 13 to a changeover valve 22 attached to the rear end of the shower arm 3.

The general structure of the shower arm is explained below with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4. A nozzle body 10c is pressed into a cylindrical shower arm tube 9 made of a rustproof and solid metal at the front end and a distributor housing 12e at the rear end. The nozzle body 10c and the distributor housing 12e are each made of a suitable plastic and each have ribs 12d and 10f, which are circumferential on a molded-on pin 12c and 10h, which are deformed when pressed in and ensure a liquid-tight hold. The nozzle body 10c forms the nozzle head 10 with a detachably snapped-on nozzle 10a. The nozzle 10a has a plurality of passages 10b, through which shower water entering the nozzle head through a shower water channel 10g can occur under pressure. The shower water channel 10g extends over the entire length of the shower arm 3 and, depending on the position of the switching valve 22, is connected to the line 13 or separated from it. A rinsing water channel 10d also runs over the entire length of the shower arm 3 and is complete is separated from the shower water channel 10g and, depending on the position of the changeover valve 22, is also connected to the line 13 or is separated from it. The rinsing water channel 10d has an opening 10e which is arranged such that the escaping rinsing water overflows the entire flat top 10e of the nozzle 10a for cleaning. As can be seen in FIG. 3, the mouth opening 10e is tapered towards the outside, so that the flow rate of the rinsing water at the outlet of the rinsing water channel 10d is increased and the upper side 10e is cleaned with a comparatively powerful rinsing jet.

Both the rinse water and the shower water are fed to the shower arm 3 via the same hose line 13. Since the hose line 13 is connected to the outlet of the instantaneous water heater, the rinsing water can also be heated to increase the cleaning effect. The flushing water and the shower water flow are controlled with the aid of the changeover valve, which is explained below with reference to FIGS. 5a to 5c and 6a to 6d.

The valve housing 12e of the changeover valve 22 has a cylindrical sealing surface 12a, which cooperates with a likewise cylindrical outer surface of a plug 11f formed on the control disk 11a. The valve body 11 is rotated axially in the valve housing 12e and here connects one with the Hose line 13 connected input 12f of the valve housing 12e with the flushing water channel 10d or the shower water channel 10g or separates the input 12f from the channels mentioned. The plug 11f has a rinse water passage 11d and a shower water passage 11c, which intersect in the axial direction of the plug 11f, as shown in FIGS. 6a to 6d. If the shower arm 3 is retracted and in the rest position, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the passages 11b and 11c in the position shown in FIG. 6a and thus the entrance 12f are separated from the shower water channel 10g and the flushing water channel 10d. This rotational position of the valve body 11 is held by the control cam 7 which is fixedly connected to the bearing plate 1 and which engages in a corresponding control recess 11d of the control disk 11a. If the shower arm 3 is now extended, the control cam 7 swivels the control disk 11a falling downward in FIG. 6a clockwise into the position shown in broken lines. In this position, also shown in FIG. 6b, the flushing water passage 11b runs parallel to the longitudinal direction of the shower arm 3 and connects the inlet 12f to the flushing water channel 10d. As can be seen, the shower water channel 10g is still separated from the passage 12f. In this position, water now comes from the hose line 13 into the flushing water channel 10d and through the opening 10e over the surface 10e of the nozzle. When the shower arm 3 is extended further, the control cam 7 disengages from the control disk 11a until the latter shortly before the shower arm 3 is fully extended with the second control cam 8 engages, as shown schematically in Fig. 6c. If the shower arm 3 guided on its underside in a T-groove of the bearing plate, which is not visible here, extends beyond the position shown in FIG. 6c, the control cam 8 moves onto a control surface 11e and rotates the control disk 11a clockwise further into the position shown in FIG 6d position shown. In this position, in which the shower arm 3 is now fully extended, the shower water passage 11c connects the entrance 12f to the shower water channel 10g. The shower water now flows out of the hose line 13 through the shower water channel 10g and the passages 10g in the nozzle 10a. At the same time, the flushing flow is interrupted. To end the rinsing process, the user can return the shower arm 3 to the rest position by actuating the pressure switch mentioned. When the shower arm 3 moves back, the control disk 11 is rotated counterclockwise in the order of FIGS. 6d to 6a. The shower flow is thus interrupted first, the flushing of the nozzle 10 is then initiated immediately and the inlet 12f is separated from the two channels 10d and 10g shortly before the rest position is reached. It is essential that the travel times are optimally used for flushing the shower head 10 both when extending and when retracting the shower arm 3. Since the rinsing process is thus coupled purely mechanically to the movement of the shower arm 3, the nozzle head is cleaned 10 ensured with every use. It is also not possible that the nozzle head 10 is not cleaned as a result of an unintentional incorrect manipulation. Despite these advantages of the shower arm 3, it can be seen that it can be implemented with relatively few, simple and robust components, so that, according to the invention, a shower arm 3 was created which not only takes excellent account of the hygienic requirements, including very simple usability, but also operationally due to its simple execution is extremely reliable.
