Description

The present invention relates to a cardboard or similar material packaging for a plurality of objects as described in the preamble of claim 1, a blank for making by folding said packaging and a method of manufacturing said blank.

The packaging of a plurality of objects, identical or different, in a common packaging poses a problem of immobilization of said objects in the packaging when they do not occupy all the available space. For this purpose, it is currently customary to fill the voids, remaining in the packaging after introduction of said objects, with a filling material, such as cellulose fiber, paper, cellular products, etc. Each of these materials have particular drawbacks related to their specific nature, and, in addition, the common drawback that it is necessary to remove them after receipt. To avoid these drawbacks, it has been imagined to use two sheets of retractable synthetic material covering said objects, the first ends of which are fixed inside the packaging, and the second overlapping free ends are fixed to one another. 'other, then heated to retract them on said objects.

However, a simple fixing of said sheets, in particular by gluing, inside the packaging is often not sufficiently resistant when the packaging is subjected to various stresses during handling, which results in rupture of the connections. sheets in the packaging and the contents of the latter spilled, or at least the non-immobilization of the objects in the packaging. To avoid this risk, there are a certain number of devices making it possible to reinforce the fixing of said sheets (see for example EP-A-0 225 208). However, these are generally complex, thereby increasing the cost of manufacturing the package.

The present invention aims to avoid these drawbacks, and relates to a packaging in which the fixing of the shrinkable plastic sheets is ensured regardless of the constraints to which the packaging can be subjected during handling, and this in a simple manner , without increasing the cost of packaging.

For this purpose, the cardboard or similar material packaging for a plurality of objects, comprising a body comprising a lateral belt and a bottom, defining a volume for receiving said objects, and at least one sheet of retractable synthetic material fixed to said body. and intended to cover said plurality of objects and to immobilize it in said volume by retraction of said sheet, is remarkable, according to the invention, in that said bottom consists of a plurality of flaps each connected by a fold line at said lateral belt along the lower longitudinal edge thereof, and in that said sheet is fixed to at least one of said bottom flaps covered, at least partially, by at least one other of said bottom flaps , so as to wedge said sheet between said flaps.

Thus, the sheet of retractable synthetic material is firmly held between said flaps, especially since the weight of the objects contained in the packaging contributes to this solid holding of the sheet, and this without resorting to complex devices and, ultimately , expensive, as was the case until now.

It is conceivable that said sheet is fixed to the external face of a flap, but, preferably, said sheet is fixed to the internal face of at least one of said bottom flaps.

Advantageously, said sheet is fixed parallel to the longitudinal edge of said lateral belt.

En particulier, ledit volet de fond auquel est fixé ladite feuille peut être recouvert par au moins un des volets adjacents à celui-ci.In particular, said bottom flap to which said sheet is fixed may be covered by at least one of the flaps adjacent to it.

In the case where the packaging comprises two said sheets of retractable synthetic material, the first ends of which are fixed to said body and the second overlapping free ends of which are intended to be fixed to each other, before retraction of said sheets on said objects , according to the invention, said bottom consists of two pairs of opposite flaps, and the first ends of said sheets are each fixed to a flap of a first pair of bottom flaps, the second pair of bottom flaps covering the flaps of said first pair so as to wedge said first ends of said sheets between said first and second pairs of bottom flaps.

Furthermore, it is advantageous that each sheet is fixed in the vicinity of the lower longitudinal edge of said lateral belt, and / or that said sheet is fixed by gluing.

In addition, the invention relates to a blank for making the previously defined packaging by folding, comprising, according to the invention:
  • a blank of cardboard or similar material in the form of an elongated strip having a first longitudinal part, separated by transverse fold lines into a plurality of adjacent portions, each of which is intended to form one face of the lateral belt of the package and a second longitudinal part, connected to said first part by a fold line and subdivided by cut lines into a plurality of adjacent flaps intended to form the bottom of said package, and
  • at least one sheet of retractable synthetic material attached to at least one of said flaps.

Preferably, said sheet is fixed parallel to the fold line separating said first and second parts, and extends towards the portion, extending the flap to which said sheet is fixed, from said first part.

In particular, said blank may include four of said portions, to each of which corresponds a bottom flap, and two said sheets of retractable synthetic material are provided, being fixed to respective first and second flaps, separated by a third flap.

Advantageously, each sheet is fixed to the respective flap in the vicinity of the fold line separating said flap from the corresponding portion, and / or each sheet is fixed to the respective flap by gluing.

Furthermore, said blank may include a flap extending one end of said first longitudinal part.

The invention also relates to a process for manufacturing the blank described above, in which, according to the invention:
  • a) a blank of cardboard or similar material is cut in the form of an elongated strip having a first longitudinal part, separated by transverse fold lines into a plurality of adjacent portions, each of which is intended to form a face of the lateral belt of the packaging, and a second longitudinal part, connected to said first part by a fold line and subdivided by cut lines into a plurality of adjacent flaps intended to form the bottom of the package, and
  • b) at least one shrinkable plastic sheet is attached to at least one of said flaps.

Advantageously, said sheet is fixed parallel to the fold line separating said first and second parts, said sheet extending towards the portion, extending said flap, of said first part.

In a particular case:
  • separating said first longitudinal part into four adjacent portions to each of which corresponds a flap of said second longitudinal part, and
  • two said sheets of retractable synthetic material are fixed to respective first and second flaps, separated by a third flap.

Preferably, each sheet is unwound from a reel and cut to the desired length.

In particular, it is possible to fix each sheet to the respective flap in the vicinity of the fold line separating said flap from the corresponding portion and / or to fix each sheet to the respective flap by gluing.

The figures of the appended drawing will make it clear how the invention can be implemented.

Figure 1 is a plan view of an exemplary embodiment of the blank from which is made the packaging according to the invention.

Figure 3 shows, in perspective, the packaging of Figure 2, in which objects have been placed.

Referring to Figure 1, the packaging of the invention is made from a blank 1 comprising a blank 2 of cardboard or similar material in the form of an elongated strip having a first longitudinal part 3, separated by transverse fold lines 4a, 4b and 4c into four adjacent portions 5a, 5b, 5c and 5d, each of which is intended to form one face of the lateral belt of the package. The blank 2 also has a second longitudinal part 6, connected to the first part 3 by a fold line 7 and subdivided by cut lines 8a, 8b and 8c into four sections 9a, 9b, 9c and 9d intended to form the bottom of the package. In addition, the blank 2 has a flap 10 extending one end of the first longitudinal part 3, and intended to fix the two ends of the lateral belt of the packaging together.

Bien entendu, chaque feuille pourrait être également collée à un niveau quelconque du volet, ou même sur l'ensemble de celui-ci.Furthermore, two sheets of retractable synthetic material 11a, 11b are fixed, at first ends 12a, 12b thereof, to two respective flaps 9a, 9c, separated by a third flap 9b, that is to say to two flaps which will be opposite to each other when the packaging is formed. We could therefore also plan to fix the sheets 11a, 11b to the flaps 9b, 9d, respectively. Said first end 12a or 12b is more precisely fixed to the corresponding flap 9a, 9c parallel to the fold line 7, advantageously in the vicinity of the latter, for example by gluing, which is symbolized, in FIG. 1, by the lines in broken lines 13a, 13b. Of course, each sheet could also be glued to any level of the shutter, or even on the whole of it.

To obtain this blank, the blank 2 is first cut so as to obtain the configuration described with reference to FIG. 1, then, after application of the glue lines 13a, 13b, said sheets of retractable synthetic material 11a are fixed, 11b, which may advantageously each come from a sheet reel and be cut to the appropriate length.

Referring now to Figure 2, we see that the package 100 according to the invention is obtained by folding the blank 1 of Figure 1. More specifically, the bottom 101 of the package 100 is obtained by folding the flaps 9a, 9c and 9b, 9d, two by two, towards each other, so that the flaps 9a, 9c, to which the sheets 11a, 11b are fixed, are covered by the flaps 9b, 9d thereby wedging the ends 12a, 12b of said sheets 11a, 11b between the flap 9a or 9c and the two flaps 9b, 9d adjacent to it. As already indicated, this makes it possible to firmly hold the sheet between bottom flaps, without the risk of tearing it off during handling of the packaging.

At the same time as the bottom flaps 9a-9d are folded back, the portions 5a-5d of the blank 2 are folded so as to form the lateral belt 102 of the package 100, the two ends of which will be fixed one to the other. the other using the flap 10.

As shown in FIG. 2, the sheets 11a, 11b extend, starting from the bottom 101, each along an internal face of the lateral belt 102 and beyond it so that their free ends 14a , 14b can overlap, and be fixed to each other, when said sheets 11a, 11b will cover the objects 103 placed in the package 100 (Figure 3). The retraction of the sheets 11a, 11b will make it possible to securely hold the objects 103 in the packaging 100, the weight of the objects 103 further participating in the maintenance of each sheet, wedged between bottom flaps.
