Abstract

In a method for controlling the oven temperature during manufacture of honeycomb structures treated with phenolic resin from paper webs glued together, which are formed into a body which is dipped into a solution of the phenolic resin mixture and then dried and cured in the indirectly heated oven, this dipping and drying/curing process is repeated several times at a temperature in the range from 70 DEG C to 110 DEG C and the last drying/curing step takes place at a temperature in the range from 145 DEG C to 155 DEG C. To control the temperature, the materials contained in the air mixture escaping from the oven are condensed and fractionally distilled, and the temperature of the oven is adjusted in accordance with the quantities obtained, the resulting materials being recycled into the process. <IMAGE>
