Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for supporting heat treatment material, in particular slabs, billets, blocks and the like in a heating furnace, in particular in a walking beam furnace, with at least one support tube through which coolant flows and at least one high-temperature-resistant rider arranged on the support tube, the rider pointing at the Carrier tube mounted and connected to this housing, which is provided with at least one open top recess, which is dovetail-shaped in the longitudinal direction of the support tube and is delimited by an end wall, wherein a recess consisting essentially of ceramic material is located in the recess forms a support surface for the heat treatment material in its upper part and is dovetail-shaped in its lower part in the longitudinal direction of the support tube.
  • the tab In a device known from EP-B-0 184 021, the tab consists of a high-temperature-resistant casting. This material can be loaded up to 1,200 ° C and has excellent strength properties in this area. Above 1200 ° C, however, the strength properties no longer meet the usual requirements.
  • the heating of the heat treatment material can be 50 to 100 ° C higher, in particular when heating slabs and the like, which are then to be rolled. Since the known tabs must be kept below this temperature, they necessarily create so-called rail shadows in the heat treatment material.
  • the rail shadows are zones of lower temperature that cause quality reductions (thickness and width deviations as well as changes in the grain structure) of the end product, unless complex additional measures are taken to remove the rail shadows before the rolling process begins. The importance of these disadvantages is increasing as the quality requirements are constantly increasing.
  • a rider with a housing which is provided with a recess which is open at the top.
  • a ceramic support piece that forms a support surface for the heat treatment material with its upper part. Since the recess is closed on all sides except for the upper opening, the ceramic material for forming the support piece can only be poured or stamped. The use of a pre-burned and therefore more wear-resistant support piece is not possible. Also, the removal of a damaged support piece from the housing is very difficult because it has to be removed.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a device of the type mentioned above, which enables extremely uniform heating of the heat treatment material, and under manufacturing and operational conditions, namely easy interchangeability of the rider and the support pieces.
  • the device according to the invention is characterized in that that the housing made of heat-resistant cast is releasably connected to the support tube, that the recess is delimited on the end face by a bolt and that a gap is formed between the support piece and the recess of the housing, which is filled with ceramic fibers, mortar or the like.
  • the tab according to the invention uses the good strength properties of the highly heat-resistant cast at temperatures below 1,200 ° C and combines them with the excellent compressive strength properties of ceramic materials above 1,200 ° C.
  • the housing made of highly heat-resistant cast iron protects the ceramic support piece and introduces the occurring forces into the support tube through which coolant flows.
  • the support piece is only subjected to pressure and can withstand this stress even at those temperatures that are required for heating the heat treatment material.
  • the supporting piece and the material to be treated are therefore at the same temperature, so that no rail shadows can occur. The result is an extremely uniform heating of the heat treatment material. In this way, end products of excellent quality can be produced.
  • Any ceramic including metal-ceramic materials, possibly in combination with other materials, which have the desired compressive strength at high temperatures, can be used as the material for the support piece.
  • the manufacturing costs for the device according to the invention are normal.
  • the stability is above average, on the one hand due to the choice of material according to the invention, and on the other hand because of the favorable thermal behavior of the construction, which allows thermal expansion without further ado. Maintenance is low because the detachable riders can be easily replaced.
  • the housing offers the ceramic support a very good support that promotes cohesion.
  • the dovetail-shaped interlocking of the two parts of the rider ensures that the ceramic support piece cannot be pulled up out of the housing.
  • the support piece is inserted into the housing in the longitudinal direction and then fixed by the bolt.
  • the latter is welded in. It can also be releasably attached if it is important to replace the support piece.
  • the arrangement is preferably made so that the end wall of the housing is downstream of the direction of transport of the heat treatment material.
  • a gap is formed between the support piece and the recess of the housing, which is filled with ceramic fibers, mortar or the like. This results in very good power transmission ratios, combined with minimizing the heat losses in the direction of the cooled support tube. Manufacturing tolerances and uneven areas can also be compensated for.
  • end wall of the housing is rounded transversely to the longitudinal direction of the support tube.
  • the upper part of the support piece can be rounded according to the invention transversely to the longitudinal direction of the support tube, and preferably mushroom-shaped. In the latter case, it overlaps the recess in the housing and thus prevents entry of foreign substances.
  • the invention proposes that the upper part of the support piece forms a continuation of the dovetail-shaped lower part up to the upper bearing surface.
  • the wing can also be rounded here. A particularly simple design is obtained.
  • Another advantageous feature of the invention is that the housing engages over a projection of the support tube and that a bolt is inserted transversely to the longitudinal direction of the support tube through its projection and through the housing.
  • the device according to the invention can further be characterized in that the housing surrounds the upper region of the support tube and adjoins an insulation surrounding the rest of the support tube.
  • the tab is therefore very well integrated into the overall structure of the device, which can be further promoted by the fact that gap spaces are formed between the housing and the insulation, which are filled with ceramic fibers.
  • the device according to Figures 1 and 2 comprises a support tube 1 which is arranged in the longitudinal direction of the furnace.
  • the direction of transport of the heat treatment material results from an arrow 2 in FIG. 1.
  • a cooling medium such as steam or water, flows through the support tube 1 to cool it.
  • a plurality of riders 3 are arranged on the support tube 1.
  • Each rider 3 has a housing 4 which surrounds a projection 5 welded to the support tube 1.
  • a bolt 6 is inserted through the housing 4 and the projection 5 and prevents the housing from being lifted off by the goods to be transported.
  • the connection is detachable and therefore enables easy assembly and disassembly.
  • the housing 4 engages around the upper region of the support tube 1 and adjoins an insulation 7 which surrounds the remaining circumference of the support tube. Gaps 8 are formed between the housing 4 and the insulation 7 and are filled with ceramic fibers. Overall, the cooled support tube 1 is well shielded from the heated furnace chamber.
  • the housing 4 forms a recess 9 which is open at the top and into which a support piece 10 made of ceramic material is inserted.
  • the support piece 10 forms a support surface 11 for the heat treatment material.
  • the device according to the exemplary embodiment is intended for a walking beam furnace for heating slabs which are then to be rolled.
  • the heating temperature is around 1300 ° C.
  • the ceramic support piece is easily able to withstand this temperature and to provide sufficient pressure resistance.
  • the transmission of the occurring loads on the support tube 1 takes place via the housing 4, which consists of highly heat-resistant cast.
  • the housing 4 is kept at a temperature just below 1200 ° C. by the cooled support tube 1. It has excellent strength properties at this temperature.
  • the tab 3 consisting of the housing 4 and the support piece 11 offers the possibility of the heat treatment material very uniformly, i.e. without heating up the track shadow.
  • the tab 3 optimally combines the high temperature resistance of the ceramic material with the strength properties of the cast steel given at a lower temperature.
  • a gap 12 is formed between the housing 4 and the support piece 10, which is filled with ceramic fibers in the present case. These form additional heat insulation and are used primarily to support the support piece 10, to ensure a favorable transfer of force from the support piece to the housing 4 and to compensate for manufacturing tolerances between the support piece 10 and the housing 4.
  • the recess 9 of the housing 4 seen in the longitudinal direction of the support tube 1 is dovetail-shaped.
  • the support piece 10 has a complementary shape, which extends to the bearing surface 11. In the longitudinal direction, the recess 9 is delimited on the one hand by a rounded end wall 13 and on the other hand by a bolt 14.
  • the latch 14 is welded to the housing 4. The arrangement is such that the support piece 10 can be inserted into the recess 9 in the longitudinal direction, whereupon the gap 12 is filled with the ceramic fiber and the bolt 14 is fastened.
  • the support piece 10 is held securely in this way, and even against being pulled upwards by the migrating heat treatment material.
  • the construction is simple to manufacture and easy to assemble.
  • the cross-sectional configuration of the support piece can deviate from the shape shown in FIG. 2, as long as it is ensured that the heat treatment material is supported at a sufficient distance above the housing 4.
  • FIG. 3 shows a mushroom-shaped design of the support piece 10.
  • the support piece engages over the side walls of the housing 4 and thus forms a shield against the entry of dirt and other foreign particles.
  • the upper part of the support piece 10 is rounded in cross section. As a result, the contact area between the support piece and the heat treatment material is reduced to a minimum.
  • the invention has its main advantages where the temperature conditions specified above prevail. In contrast, the invention can also be used under other conditions. Furthermore, it is not limited to use in walking beam furnaces, but can also be used, for example, in step-by-step furnaces and above all in push furnaces.
  • the support pieces 10 of the embodiments according to FIGS. 2 and 3 can also have a rounded support surface 11, as can be seen in FIG. 4.
  • the latch 14 according to FIG. 1 can be detachably connected to the housing 4, for example inserted, in order to facilitate an exchange of the support piece 10.
  • Mortar can also be introduced into the gap 12 between the support piece 10 and the housing 4 instead of the ceramic fibers.
  • the arrangement according to FIG. 1 can be reversed in such a way that the end wall 13 moves to the rear and the latch 14 moves to the front.
  • the projection 5 is then preferably also implemented. Otherwise, this projection 5 can also be arranged laterally. Especially under this condition, you will choose a different lock instead of the bolt 6.
  • each housing can also accommodate a plurality of support pieces.
