Als chemischer Stoff für die fungizid wirkende Beschichtung findet ein Trichlorohydroxyziphenyläther Anwendung; hierbei handelt es sich um einen toxisch wirkenden chemischen Stoff, mittels dem in der die Klimaanlage durchlaufenden Luft enthaltene Pilze, Keime etc. abgetötet werden.
