Alternativ sind auch 3D-Druck, Fräsen oder ähnliches möglich, aber aus Kostengründen kommt grundsätzlich nur das erstbenannte Verfahren in Frage. Als Kunststoff werden die bekannten Kunststoffarten verwendet, welche im Bereich der Lebensmittel oder Medizintechnik verwendet werden, wie z. B. PP, ABS oder TPE. Im Zuge einer nachhaltigen Variante wären auch neuartige Biokunststoffe und Faserverbundstoffe möglich, welche teils kompostierbar wären. Öle hängt nur von den Vorlieben des Trägers ab und mitunter können bekannte Duftöle verwendet werden, welche eine heilende Wirkung haben können. In diesem Zusammenhang kann diese Nasen-Mund-Maske dann nicht nur zum Schutz verwendet werden, sondern auch in der Aromatherapie. Gerade bei älteren Patienten oder Personen, welche Probleme im Bereich der Atemwege haben, sind über verschiedene Heil- bzw.
