Abstract

The invention relates to a method for setting a uniform and specific tension in running material webs, such as textile webs or the like, guided with width stretching through a treatment space, especially a dryer, in which the material webs are first introduced without width stretching into tensioning elements which are arranged on tensioning chains guided in chain tracks, and are subsequently width-stretched by a width adjustment of the chain tracks, and is aimed at guaranteeing an always specific tension in all the parts of the material web. Claims (4)

  1. Apparatus for adjusting a defined tension in running fabric webs such as textile webs or the like, which are guided under stretching through a treatment chamber, in particular through a drier,
    comprising stentering chains guided in chain conveyors,
    comprising controlled width adjustment means for the chain conveyors,
    and comprising tensioning members such as needle ledges or stenter clips fastened to the tensioning chains by means of carriers,
    characterized in that the tensioning elements (14) are guided in stretching direction along the carriers (13) in an elastically shiftable manner, and in that
    sensors (21, 22) are allocated to the end positions, with the aid of which the width adjustment means can be controlled.
  2. Apparatus as claimed in claim 1, characterized by contact-free sensors (21, 22).
  3. Apparatus as claimed in Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the tensioning element (14) is mounted on an intermediate carrier (15) which is connected to the carrier (13) via a spring (16).
  4. Apparatus as claimed in Claim 3, characterized in that the intermediate carrier (15) is slewable in the plane of the fabric web (10).
