- the corrosion in the cylinders is basically the same at all points. However, since there is a frictional effect on the above sleeves due to the abrasive material located between the web back and the cylinder inner wall, the wear is concentrated on the sleeves.

- a wear insert is arranged between the sleeves 4 and 15.
- a sleeve is used in a housing of a twin-screw extruder, which was welded together in the middle from the parts 15a and 15b.
- FIG. 5 shows individual cylinder sections 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21, sleeves 23, 24 and 25 being inserted into sections 17, 19 and 21. This embodiment ensures that the corrosion and wear remains essentially limited to the sleeves.
