Abstract

Extendable device for hanging out laundry, having an axially displaceable line-winding roller (16) which is mounted rotatably in a housing (10) and is loaded by a prestressed helical spring and which is equipped at one end with a handle (21) projecting from the housing (10) and at the other end with a toothing (22) engageable into a countertoothing in the housing, this toothing (22) and the countertoothing (28) being designed as helical toothing to prevent the unintentional release of the toothing when the line (29) is pulled at an angle. <IMAGE>
