Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate scratching of the wall surface of a pipe otherwise caused by rubbing even when a cable is forced to touch the inside thereof, by lifting the cable being wound up with a winch provided on a winch wheel. CONSTITUTION:A travelling device is made up of a camera cart 21, a measuring wheel 22, a multiplex communication wheel 23 and a winch wheel 24. The camera cart 21 is positioned at the forefront of the travelling device and a TV camera 3 is carried at the front end thereof to observe internal condition of a penstock 1. The TV camera 3 is switched from direct to side vision and vice versa, has a function of oscillating by 0-90 deg. and zooming, focusing and the like are remotely controlled properly. The body of the camera cart 21 is pivoted rotatably with a wheel arm 5 and a rubber wheel 6 is mounted loosely at the external end thereof to turn on the inner surface of a pipe. An air cylinder 7 pulls the wheel arm 5 against a spring 8 until the rubber wheel 6 abuts the inner surface of the penstock 1.
