Abstract

An irrigating device is described having a carriage 1, which can be coupled to a vehicle, the carriage frame supporting a drum 30 carrying a hose 25, one end of which can be supplied with water, while the other end carries a spraying device 22 which is supported by a small carriage 21. In operation the hose is unwound and the small carriage initially disposed distant from the carriage and the drum has means 112, 113 to rotate it so that the hose, in winding up, moves over the surface to be irrigated. The drum rotates about a vertical shaft 32 and forms a truncated cone. Means 38, 125 are provided for controlling the winding of the turns of the drum and modifying the speed of rotation of the drum as a function of the change in diameter of the drum during winding. <IMAGE>
