Definitions
- the invention relates to a manhole cover of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1.
- a ring of circular ventilation openings arranged at equal angular intervals is provided, each of which is delimited by an annular wall shaped like a tower or a shaft from the bottom of the shell, which is connected to the circumferential wall of the cover by a radial rib is.
- the concrete filling can extend anywhere up to the relatively thin cover peripheral wall.
- This previously known cover already has a favorable ratio of the cast iron portion to the concrete portion, in particular since the concrete is also radially outward and in part fills areas of the lid shell lying over the contact surface.
- the aim is to further reduce the cast iron content without impairing the strength of the lid.
- a disadvantage of the known cover is that the surface of the concrete filling is not continuous, but is interrupted by the ring walls of the ventilation openings. As a result, the introduction and hardening of the concrete, in particular hardening by means of a compacting tool, is made more difficult. With less solidification, however, the contribution of the concrete filling to the strength of the cover is less, which must be compensated for by more extensive dimensioning of the cast iron content.
- the well-known manhole cover lacks exposed cast iron surfaces of sufficient width on its top side to be able to affix the markings provided in accordance with the standard, such as manufacturer and product designation, as well as quality, standard and class information.
- FR-OS 2 450 912 a circular manhole cover made of cast iron and concrete is known, the ventilation openings of which are not circumferential, but are arranged in two diametrically opposed segment-shaped groups, directly adjoining the peripheral wall of the cover and are separated from each other by radial ribs.
- the cast iron content of this lid is, however, relatively high, not only because of the accumulation of cast iron material in the area of the grouped ventilation openings, but above all because the concrete filling is not exposed upwards, but is covered by a cast iron cover plate that is screwed to the bottom of the bowl is and forms a supporting part of the lid.
- the concrete must be poured through a central bottom opening in the cover shell, which interrupts the continuous shell bottom and thus reduces its load-bearing capacity, and compacting the concrete with a pressing tool is not possible.
- This lid also does not have a favorable attachment option for a removal tool. It is also disadvantageous with this cover that the ventilation openings are located radially so far outside that surface water running into them runs down the shaft wall and cannot get into a dirt trap which is suspended in the shaft and is at a distance from the shaft wall.
- the invention has for its object to provide a manhole cover of the type mentioned in such a way that it allows for a simple introduction and compaction of the concrete filling with a consistently favorable or even further improved weight ratio between cast iron and concrete content and offers a good possibility of engagement for a removal tool.
- the cast iron shell 1 of the lid shown has an upwardly concave dish bottom 3, which runs within the nominal diameter D of the lid with a substantially constant wall thickness and a substantially constant radius of curvature, that is to say spherically curved, and merges into the approximately perpendicular circumferential wall 5, which approximately has the same wall thickness as the shell bottom 3.
- the slightly downwardly projecting bearing surface 7, which determines the nominal diameter D and is sufficient is broadly designed to optionally provide a dovetail groove for receiving an elastic damping insert 9 (cf. FIG. 3).
- the shell 1 formed by the shell bottom 3 and the peripheral wall 5 contains a concrete filling 11 which is flush with the upper edge of the peripheral wall 5 and preferably consists of concrete compacted by shaking and pressing.
- the shell bottom 3 can be provided on its inside with radially extending flat (indicated by dashed lines) stiffening ribs 13.
- each ventilation opening 17 has the shape of an elongated hole, the center line of which can be concentrically curved to the center of the cover.
- the dimensions, in particular the width, of each ventilation opening 17 are chosen so that the safety standards are not exceeded.
- each ventilation opening 17 can have a width of 28 mm and a length of 200 mm.
- each ventilation opening 17 the peripheral wall 5 'is made so thick that its thickness corresponds to the width of the bearing surface 7. From this solid outer wall 5, a flange 19 projects inwards on the top side of the lid, which flange forms the outer boundary of the ventilation opening 17.
- the upper surface of the peripheral wall 5 'and / or the flange 19 can be formed as a labeling field, in which a lettering molded into the cast iron, for example with manufacturer and product designation, quality mark, as well as specification of norms and classes, can be provided .
- the ventilation opening 17 is set radially inward from the circumference of the cover so that the ventilation opening is located within the diameter of a strainer basket arranged in the shaft below the cover.
- an air gap of at least 30 mm width is provided between the outer edge of the basket and the inner edge of the shaft frame, which is necessary for effective ventilation of the shaft. Since the ventilation openings 17 are correspondingly offset radially inward, the surface water flowing in through them with the dirt contained therein nevertheless reaches the dirt trap.
- a drip bead 23 prevents the water from flowing out along the underside of the flange 19 and thereby the Bypasses mud flaps. The drip bead 23 also prevents the lifting tool from slipping off.
- the top of the concrete filling forms a uniform uninterrupted surface, so that it is very easy to compact the concrete with a pressing or vibrating compacting tool acting from above. It is also advantageous that the thickening of the circumferential wall 5 'above the support surface 7 prevents the support surface 7 from forming an undercut in the pocket 13 formed in the shell base 3. No casting core is therefore required to form the pocket 15 in the shell bottom.
- Ventilation openings 17 can also be provided at corresponding angular intervals.
- Each ventilation opening can also be designed as a straight, non-curved elongated hole.
- labeling can also be provided on the upper side of the flange 19.

Abstract
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft einen Schachtdeckel von der im Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1 angegebenen Art.The invention relates to a manhole cover of the type specified in the preamble of
In a manhole cover of this type known from DE-PS 28 57 528, a ring of circular ventilation openings arranged at equal angular intervals is provided, each of which is delimited by an annular wall shaped like a tower or a shaft from the bottom of the shell, which is connected to the circumferential wall of the cover by a radial rib is. Around the ventilation openings, the concrete filling can extend anywhere up to the relatively thin cover peripheral wall.
This previously known cover already has a favorable ratio of the cast iron portion to the concrete portion, in particular since the concrete is also radially outward and in part fills areas of the lid shell lying over the contact surface. However, the aim is to further reduce the cast iron content without impairing the strength of the lid. A disadvantage of the known cover is that the surface of the concrete filling is not continuous, but is interrupted by the ring walls of the ventilation openings. As a result, the introduction and hardening of the concrete, in particular hardening by means of a compacting tool, is made more difficult. With less solidification, however, the contribution of the concrete filling to the strength of the cover is less, which must be compensated for by more extensive dimensioning of the cast iron content. Another disadvantage of the known cover is that it does not offer a usable point of attack for a removal tool with which the cover can be lifted off the shaft opening or inserted into it. Finally, the well-known manhole cover lacks exposed cast iron surfaces of sufficient width on its top side to be able to affix the markings provided in accordance with the standard, such as manufacturer and product designation, as well as quality, standard and class information.
From FR-OS 2 450 912 a circular manhole cover made of cast iron and concrete is known, the ventilation openings of which are not circumferential, but are arranged in two diametrically opposed segment-shaped groups, directly adjoining the peripheral wall of the cover and are separated from each other by radial ribs. The cast iron content of this lid is, however, relatively high, not only because of the accumulation of cast iron material in the area of the grouped ventilation openings, but above all because the concrete filling is not exposed upwards, but is covered by a cast iron cover plate that is screwed to the bottom of the bowl is and forms a supporting part of the lid. The concrete must be poured through a central bottom opening in the cover shell, which interrupts the continuous shell bottom and thus reduces its load-bearing capacity, and compacting the concrete with a pressing tool is not possible. This lid also does not have a favorable attachment option for a removal tool. It is also disadvantageous with this cover that the ventilation openings are located radially so far outside that surface water running into them runs down the shaft wall and cannot get into a dirt trap which is suspended in the shaft and is at a distance from the shaft wall.
The invention has for its object to provide a manhole cover of the type mentioned in such a way that it allows for a simple introduction and compaction of the concrete filling with a consistently favorable or even further improved weight ratio between cast iron and concrete content and offers a good possibility of engagement for a removal tool.
This object is achieved by the features of
- 1 is a plan view of one half of the manhole cover,
- 2 shows a section through the manhole cover along the line II-II of FIG. 1,
- Fig. 3 is a detailed perspective view in the region of a ventilation opening.
Fig. 3). The
At four points of the lid which are opposite one another in pairs, the tray bottom is formed in a shaft-like manner before reaching the peripheral wall, so that
In the area of each ventilation opening 17, the
Through the
In the manhole cover according to the invention, the top of the concrete filling forms a uniform uninterrupted surface, so that it is very easy to compact the concrete with a pressing or vibrating compacting tool acting from above. It is also advantageous that the thickening of the
Changes to the described embodiments are possible within the scope of the invention. Instead of four, three or five
