- a third necessary component of the low temperature solid cast detergent composition of this invention is a nonionic surfactant. It has been bound that at low water temperatures, the cleaning power of alkali metal hydroxide can be reduced depending upon soil load and type. To obtain desired low temperature cleaning results, a nonionic surfactant is added to augment the cleaning action of the alkali metal hydroxide. The nonionic surfactant serves to emulsify fats rather than saponify them. The nonionic surfactant used must be compatible with the alkali metal hydroxide and must be low foaming. Useful nonionic surfactants include, but are not limited to, the following: an ethoxylated long chain alcohol which is terminated with a benzyl group.

Abstract
Claims (13)
- Composition détergente solide moulée de lavage comprenant :a) 5 à 12, 6% en poids d'un surfactant non ionique :b) 10 à 60 % en poids d'un hydroxyde de métal alcalin ;c) 10 à 50 % en poids d'un agent complexant la dureté ; etd) 5 à 30 % en poids d'eau d'hydratation ;dans laquelle chaque pourcentage est basé sur la composition moulée.
- Composition moulée selon la revendication 1 comprenant de plus un conteneur jetable en forme de réceptacle entourant ladite composition détergente sur toutes ses faces sauf une.
- Composition moulée selon la revendication 2, dans laquelle ledit conteneur est le moule dans lequel la composition a été moulée et solidifiée.
- Composition moulée selon la revendication 3 comprenant de plus un couvercle attaché audit conteneur en forme de réceptacle.
- Composition moulée selon la revendication 1, dans laquelle ladite composition comprend de plus un agent anti-mousse.
- Composition détergente de lavage solide moulée de la revendication 1 comprenant de plus :a) 2 à 7 % en poids d'un polyéléctrolyte ; etb) jusqu'à 1,0 % en poids d'un agent anti-mousse ;dans laquelle ledit hydroxyde de métal alcalin est présent dans une quantité allant de 20 à 50 % en poids; ledit agent complexant la dureté est présent dans une quantité allant de 15 à 34 % en poids et comprend un phosphate condensé de métal alcalin ; et dans laquelle ladite eau d'hydratation est présente dans une quantité allant de 10 à 20 % en poids de ladite composition moulée.
- Procédé de distribution d'un détergent de lavage dans une zone de lavage pour laver des articles, utilisant une composition détergente de lavage solide moulée selon la revendication 2, comprenant les étapes consistant à :(a) placer ladite composition détergente de lavage solide moulée dans un dispositif de distribution de détergent présentant des moyens de pulvérisation, en position par rapport à l'horizontale et par rapport auxdits moyens de pulvérisation, pour distribuer le détergent vers le bas à partir de la composition détergente vers la zone de lavage de la machine à laver, dans lequel le côte de la composition détergent de lavage solide moulée qui n'est pas recouverte par ledit conteneur en forme de réceptacle est contenue à l'intérieur dudit dispositif de distribution du détergent et est orientée pour pourvoir l'intérieur dudit dispositif de distribution du détergent avec une surface d'écoulement, exposée et non recouverte de la composition détergente de lavage solide moulée ;(b) appliquer une pulvérisation de liquide aqueux à partir desdits moyens de pulvérisation sur ladite surface d'écoulement non recouverte exposée pour dissoudre la composition détergente essentiellement uniformément et former ainsi un détergent liquide aqueux contenant ladite composition détergente dans le liquide aqueux, le détergent liquide s'écoulant vers le bas à partir de ladite surface d'écoulement exposée non recouverte essentiellement simultanément à l'application ;(c) permettre essentiellement simultanément au détergent liquide aqueux s'écoulant vers le bas de s'échapper dudit dispositif de distribution de détergent dans ladite zone de lavage afin de laver les articles contenus dans celle-ci ; et(d) contrôler la durée de l'étape (b), en contrôlant la quantité de ladite composition détergente liquide aqueuse s'écoulant dans ladite zone de lavage, et en contrôlant la concentration de ladite composition détergente dans ladite zone de lavage.
- Procédé selon la revendication 7, dans lequel ladite surface d'écoulement exposée non recouverte fait essentiellement face auxdits moyens de pulvérisation.
- Procédé selon la revendication 8, dans lequel ladite composition de lavage solide moulée est placée durant l'étape (a) dans une position inversée au dessus desdits moyens de pulvérisation, d'une façon telle que la surface d'écoulement exposée non recouverte fasse face vers le bas auxdits moyens de pulvérisation.
- Procédé selon la revendication 7, dans lequel lors de ladite étape (a), ladite composition détergente de lavage solide moulée est placée en position inversée au dessus desdits moyens de pulvérisation et ladite application est effectuée par une pulvérisation orientée essentiellement perpendiculairement à ladite surface d'écoulement exposée non entourée.
- Procédé de réalisation d'une composition détergente de lavage solide moulée comprenant les étapes consistant à :(a) chauffer une solution aqueuse à 40 à 75 % en poids d'un hydroxyde de métal alcalin entre 150 et 165° F (65,6 - 73,9° C) et ajouter 30 à 40 % en poids de billes d'un hydroxyde de métal alcalin anhydre à ladite solution;(b) répartir 5 à 12,6 % en poids d'un surfactant non ionique dans ladite solution ;(c) répartir 10 à 50 % en poids d'un agent complexant la dureté dans ladite solution ;(d) épaissir ladite solution et mélanger ladite solution durant ledit épaississement pour former une dispersion uniforme moulable;(e) verser ladite dispersion uniforme dans ledit moule en forme de réceptacle et remplir au moins partiellement ledit moule ; et(f) autoriser ladite dispersion épaissie à solidifier dans ledit moule pour former un détergent moulé solide uniforme dans lequel au moins une surface du détergent solide est exposée par le moule en forme de réceptacle.
- Procédé selon la revendication 11, dans lequel ledit hydroxyde de métal alcalin est de l'hydroxyde de sodium.
- Procédé selon la revendication 12, dans lequel ledit agent complexant la dureté est du tripolyphosphate de sodium.
