Abstract

In a two-layer sealing roof covering membrane (2) for roofs to be grassed, the bottom layer (4) consists of a weldable and/or bondable, hermetically sealing plastics material and the top layer (6) consists of a watertight weldable and/or bondable plastics material of relatively high strength. Both layers (4, 6) are, having the same width, laterally offset relative to one another so as to permit a direct surface join with in each case identical layers (4, 6) of a corresponding adjacent membrane (2). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a two-layer, sealing roof covering sheet according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a roof covering sheet is known, for example, from the document EP-A-0 240 596 in the form that the upper layer as a sealing sheet consists of a thermoplastic material such as high-density polyethylene and the lower layer consists of a nonwoven fabric laminated thereon, which homogenizes the Cause stretching behavior and should allow the webs to be glued to the substrate. The upper layers of adjacent webs should be hot air or hot wedge welded together with the integration of the fleece.

Die betreffende Bahn soll als erste Dichtungslage einer mehrlagigen Dachabdichtung Anwendung finden.DE-GM 81 09 869 shows a two-layer sealing roof covering sheet, in which the two layers have the same width and are laterally offset from one another, so as to bring the two layers overlapping on top of one another when connected to corresponding adjacent sheets. The upper layer preferably consists of a bitumen roofing membrane, for example a glass fiber nonwoven or fabric sheet coated with bitumen, while the lower layer is formed as a vapor relaxation layer by a nonwoven or fabric or also an open-pore flexible plastic foam. The membrane in question is to be used as the first sealing layer of a multi-layer roof waterproofing.

Die obere Lage springt auf einer Seite zu rück, um so ein unmittelbares Aufeinanderliegen der unteren Lagen benachbarter Bahnen zwecks Verschweißung zu ermöglichen.DE-GM 77 35 970 specifies a two-ply end membrane for a sealing roof covering, in which the upper ply consists of rubber and the lower ply consists of a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic fabric or fleece. The top layer jumps to one side back so as to allow the lower layers of adjacent sheets to lie directly on top of one another for the purpose of welding.

Finally, from DE-GM 33 28 110 a multi-layer roof covering for greening flat roofs is known, which has a protective layer, drainage and filter layer, for example 20 mm thick layer outside and separate from a waterproof roof skin. As a result of the high discharge value, the layer in question is to become an air layer which enables vapor diffusion upwards. Such a roof covering is naturally only time-consuming and correspondingly expensive to apply. In addition, there is a risk that the roots of the green roof will grow through the multifunctional layer mentioned and the underlying, i.a. relatively sensitive roof skin, especially where this usually sheet-like roof skin has its abutting points and the roots consequently find resistance to lateral evasion.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating an integral sealing roof covering sheet for use under green roofs which, in addition to excellent sealing properties, also has a high resistance to boring root system.

Die Unteransprüche geben vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungsmöglichkeiten an.This object is achieved by the features of claim 1. The subclaims indicate advantageous design options.

As a result of the training in question, the sealing function is distributed over the two layers, while the lower layer also has a compensating function and the upper layer has a shielding and thus protective function. The upper layer, which is only slightly bulky at the points of overlap with neighboring webs, offers hardly any possibility of attack to a laterally expanding root system. In addition, it allows the lateral offset tion of the two layers of the same width, to connect them each with the same layers of adjacent sheets by welding or gluing and accordingly firmly and reliably.

A preferred exemplary embodiment of the invention is described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing. The only figure of the drawing shows a (not to scale) cross section through the junction of two identical roof covering sheets according to the invention.

Each of the two adjoining webs 2 according to the invention shown has a lower layer 4 of e.g. 1.2 mm thick, for example made of EVA-PVC and an upper layer 6 of e.g. 0.25 mm, for example from PVC. While the layer 4 serves to compensate for smaller unevenness in addition to the seal, the upper layer 6 primarily forms a protective layer for the lower layer 4.

The two layers 4 and 6 of each track 2 are of equal width, but are laterally offset from one another by, for example, 40 mm, so that there are alternate projections of the two layers on both sides, as can be seen from the two tracks 2 in the figure . This, in turn, makes it possible for the same layers of both webs to be brought into direct and surface contact with one another at the junction and welded or glued. This allows a firm and absolutely tight connection to be achieved. Preferably, the connection of the two lower layers 4 and also that of the two upper layers 6 takes place by welding, e.g. Hot air welding and / or welding using a solvent.

Since the upper layer 6 is relatively thin, it can only apply a little at its edge. Where the top layer 6 of the web overlapping on the top (left in the drawing) over the If the thicker lower layer 4 protrudes, it will, at 8, form a gentle bend, which in turn means that there is hardly any possibility of lateral attack for roots that expand laterally.
