Abstract

The web for covering roofs consists of a carrier of glass fabric, of a mat, preferably a glass mat, a glass mesh mat (scrim), and a sealing layer of polymer bitumen. To provide a weldable polymer bitumen web which has not only a high sealing action and a long life but can also be laid easily and in a time-saving manner, it is proposed according to the invention that the weldable web has a closed, homogeneous sealing layer (1), to the top of which the carrier (2) is applied which is impregnated to saturation with polymer bitumen, and the underside of which is designed as a separation and (vapour pressure) compensation layer. The separation and (vapour pressure) compensation layer is a channel system (3) which consists of mutually crossing longitudinal grooves (4) and transverse grooves (5).

Description

The invention relates to a polymer bitumen welding sheet for covering roofs, which consists of a carrier made of glass fabric, nonwoven, preferably glass fleece, glass grid fleece (glass scrim) and a sealing layer made of polymer bitumen, the underside of which is designed as a separating and (vapor pressure) compensating layer.

The conventional polymer bitumen welding sheets have a carrier insert made of synthetic fiber fleece, glass fabric, glass fleece etc. with an upper and lower cover layer (= sealing layer) made of polymer bitumen, the carrier being located in the middle third of the sealing layer.

These known welding tracks have the disadvantage that the cover layers can stand out from the support (cleavage of the sealing layer), so that the welding track no longer conforms to the norm and, moreover, its tightness is no longer guaranteed.

Slate chippings are usually applied to the upper cover layer as surface protection, which exerts a certain notch effect on the upper cover layer and thus weakens it. Another disadvantage of this surface protection is that the chips split off due to the high temperature during the welding process, which is particularly dangerous in the overlap area of the webs. Because it cannot be avoided that chippings get into the overlap area, as a result of which a closed, homogeneous connection of the roofing membranes in the seam area is no longer guaranteed.

The bitumen sheet and the film are equipped on their contact surfaces with a channel system consisting of grooves which run in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the bitumen sheet and penetrate one another at their crossing points.

Starting from this prior art, the invention has for its object to provide a polymer bitumen welding sheet of the type mentioned, which not only has a high sealing effect and a long service life, while avoiding the aforementioned disadvantages, but also easy and time-saving to install is.

According to the invention, this is achieved in that the welding track has a closed, homogeneous sealing layer, on the top of which the support is applied, which is saturated with polymer bitumen before application. The sealing layer can for example have a thickness of 4 mm and the carrier of 1 mm. This configuration not only results in a high sealing effect due to the homogeneous sealing layer, but also an additional protective function of the actual wearer, just beyond its supporting function, so that not only the sealing effect is improved downwards, but also the protection against it upwards mechanical impact as well as against sun rays and shocks due to large temperature differences. The inventive design also increases the aging resistance of the web.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the separating and (vapor pressure) compensating layer can be a channel system which consists of longitudinal and transverse grooves crossing one another. The channel system formed in this way can be sprinkled with talc or advantageously also laminated with a film which extends into the grooves of the channel system. The duct system ensures perfect vapor pressure compensation, the grooves of which are all connected to one another. This type of construction is particularly suitable for normal building and usage moisture.

According to a development of the invention, the separating and (vapor pressure) compensation layer can also be formed from knob-shaped projections which are applied to the underside of the sealing layer and have a height of 4-5 mm, for example. The knob-shaped projections are preferably made of the same material as the sealing layer. These nubs create a void-rich separation and (vapor pressure) compensation layer. This type of construction is particularly suitable in the event of high usage moisture, e.g. in laundry chews, large laundries, car washes, etc.

In an advantageous manner, the sealing layer has on its one longitudinal and / or a transverse edge a flat adhesive edge for the overlapping connection of adjacent webs.

The longitudinal and transverse edges of the sealing layer, which serve as adhesives, are free of longitudinal and transverse grooves on the one hand and of knobs on the other hand, so that there is a flat support on the associated edge regions of the supports of the adjacent welding tracks.

The polymer bitumen welding membrane according to the innovation is also particularly suitable as long-term covering according to the type of single-layer roof sealing made of high-polymer membranes.

Embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail with reference to the drawing, which shows:
  • Figure 1 is a view of the narrow side of a polymer bitumen welding sheet with channel system and
  • Figure 2 is a view of the narrow side of a polymer bitumen welding sheet with knob system.

Imprägnierung mit dem Polymerbitumen.1 with the closed, homogeneous sealing layer made of polymer bitumen is referred to, on the top of which the carrier 2 made of preferably glass fabric, glass fleece, glass grid fleece (glass scrim) is applied. Before the carrier 2 is applied to the homogeneous sealing layer 1, the carrier 2 is saturated, ie impregnated with the polymer bitumen.

In the embodiment of Figure 1, the sealing layer 1 is equipped on its underside with a channel system 3, which consists of intersecting longitudinal grooves 4 and 5 transverse grooves.

The underside is covered with a film 6, which extends flatly into the longitudinal grooves 4 and transverse grooves 5 and thus lies fully against the underside of the sealing layer 1.

The channel system 3 formed in this way represents a highly effective separating and (vapor pressure) compensation layer.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, knob-shaped projections 7 are applied to the underside of the sealing layer 1, which have a height of approximately 4-5 mm. These knob-shaped projections 7 are made of the same material as the sealing layer 1. In this embodiment, the knob-shaped projections 7 form the separating and (vapor pressure) compensation layer.

In both exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the sealing layer 1 has an adhesive edge 8 on its one longitudinal edge and on the transverse edge (not shown further), which forms the overlap width for fastening on the carrier of the adjacent welding track. In order to achieve a flat support, the adhesive edge 8 is flat, i.e. Neither longitudinal grooves 4 nor transverse grooves 5 on the one hand nor knobs 7 on the other extend in these.

Adjacent welding tracks are thus connected to one another in such a way that a coherent channel system or the like on the entire roof surface. results.
