Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an offset printing unit with a blanket cylinder, a plate cylinder and an inking cylinder having a flexible working surface, which are all driven at the same speed, and an anilox roller supplying ink to the inking cylinder.
Such an arrangement is known from DE-PS 31 17 341. In this arrangement, the inking cylinder has a diameter corresponding to the effective working diameter of the printing form, that is to say the plate cylinder covered with one or more plates, and rotates at the same surface speed and in the area of the contact point with the same direction of rotation.
Due to the indentation of the resilient surface of the ink application cylinder as a result of the necessary mutual pressure between this cylinder and the plate cylinder, a grinding movement of the surfaces of both cylinders occurs during operation. On the one hand, this grinding movement causes higher plate wear, more heating of the cylinders and problems with the dampening solution guidance. The heating leads to a volume expansion of the working surface of the inking cylinder, and thus to different employment relationships between the cylinders, which increases the grinding movement. This grinding movement emulsifies more dampening solution into the ink in the gap between the two cylinders. This dampening solution is then no longer available on the surface of the plate to keep the non-printing areas free. The result is a toning. This could be counteracted by increased dampening solution management. However, since most inks can only emulsify dampening solution up to a certain limit, wash marks appear in the print if the fountain solution supply is too high. In addition, with many inks, too much emulsified dampening solution reduces the fluidity impaired. This problem is particularly disruptive for inking units with an anilox roller for ink supply, since hardly any dampening solution evaporates from the returned ink / fountain solution emulsion. There is therefore only a very narrow area for a sufficient but not too large amount of dampening solution to be supplied. Adjusting the amount of dampening solution to this area is complex. It has now been found that the proportion of the fountain solution emulsified into the ink increases with the grinding movement.
It is known from DE-PS 625 327 and US-
Proceeding from this, the invention has for its object to provide a printing unit of the type mentioned, in which a grinding movement between the plate cylinder and the inking cylinder is minimized.
This object is achieved by applying the measures of the characterizing part of claim 1.
- Fig. 1 eine schematische Seitenansicht eines Druckwerkes und
- Fig. 2 einen Schnitt entlang der Linie II-II in Fig. 1.
- Fig. 1 is a schematic side view of a printing unit and
- FIG. 2 shows a section along the line II-II in FIG. 1.
The printing unit shown comprises a blanket cylinder 1, which sits firmly on a
To supply the
Between the
The inking
The
It has been found that a grinding movement between the
