Definitions
- the invention relates to a cone screw mixer, preferably working simultaneously as a dryer, with a mixing container which is flared upwards, a product outlet opening arranged in the lower region of the mixing container, a connection unit connected to the lower end of the mixing container, a rotating head mounted and supported in the connection unit, in which the shaft a mixing screw projecting into the mixing container and carrying mixing blades is mounted and rotatably driven at the lower end, and with a guide member mounted in the connection unit and rotatably driven about the vertical axis of the mixing container for a circulating movement of the mixing screw along the container wall.
- a mixer of the aforementioned type known from DE-OS 24 52 005 is provided with a mixing screw shaft which is guided at its lower end through a spherical bearing housing.
- the spherical shells of the bearing housing are held in a connection unit on the bottom of the container with the aid of receptacles in the manner of ball joint sockets with gland packings accommodated therein. Since this bearing arrangement forms the lower end of the mixing container, there is a risk that both the bearing abrasion of the worm shaft and that of the bearing housing and the joint sockets penetrate into the product located in the mixing container and contaminate it.
- a rotatable bearing housing sealed with respect to the connection housing contains an upper extended section into which the blades of the mixing screw extend, while a product outlet pipe extends downward from an extended section of this bearing housing extends, which is arranged at an angle to the axis of the mixing screw.
- This known construction is disadvantageous insofar as a considerable construction height of up to 2 m below the lower container flange is required, within which not only the rotary drive of the worm shaft, which extends far downwards, but also a ball valve arranged under the product outlet, including a rotary tube connection, are accommodated. This rotary tube connection is necessary because the screw moves along the inclined container wall even during the product discharge time.
- the invention has for its object to improve and develop a mixer or mixer dryer of the type mentioned in such a way that the height required for its operation and for its accommodation is reduced and overall a reduced construction effort is achieved. Furthermore, it should be ensured that the formation of condensate can be avoided with certainty at the lower end of the mixing container.
- the outflow unit is in the form of a central housing with an upper conical section continuing the wall of the mixing container and containing the product outlet opening and other process technology fittings, and executed with a lower cylindrical section;
- the guide member consists of an externally toothed horizontal support ring, which is guided and mounted in a gear housing fixed to the underside of the cylindrical section, and through which the worm shaft extends with the bearing housing surrounding it;
- the rotary head is fastened to the support ring and sealed with a cylindrical outer wall by a mechanical seal against the cylindrical section of the central housing.
- the advantage is achieved that this unit can be prefabricated separately from the large mixing container and pre-assembled together with the screw and the gear unit.
- the body of the central housing can consist of a welded or cast construction and, due to its limited dimensions, can be easily machined, z.
- the cylindrical Inner wall on a lathe receives a fit that is provided for the mechanical seal on the circumference of the rotary head.
- all other openings and flanges for fittings of all types can be attached to the upper conical section of the central housing, which were previously in the jacket of the mixing container and subsequently required costly straightening work due to the deformations occurring during processing.
- the rotating shaft which is mounted on the worm shaft and sealed towards the mixing container, is attached to the top of the supporting ring, which is supported and supported in the connection housing, so that the cylindrical outer wall of the rotating head does not have to absorb any bearing forces, but only for Sealing with the opposite cylindrical section of the central housing with the interposition of mechanical seals is available.
- the rotary head can have a convex, relatively flat curved surface which points upward into the mixing container and forms the base of the mixing container and which is particularly suitable for avoiding mixing dead spaces.
- this surface contains a relatively large extent, which is determined, for example, by approximately twice the diameter of the mixing screw. Due to the large area of this surface facing the mixing container, this can be at a welded heating channels are heated evenly regulated. This heating option is important because it reliably prevents the formation of condensate and the formation of caking in connection with previous moisture accumulations. Due to the special nature of the storage and the drive, which are located away from the mixing container, it is possible to seal the mixing container properly and to guarantee the sterile treatment of mixed products in continuous operation. By avoiding storage locations within the mixing room connected to the product, even sensitive end products remain free of contamination.
- the lower region of the conical mixing container 10 is fastened with a lower flange 12 to an upper flange 16 of a separate central housing 14.
- Central housing 14 includes an upper conical section 15 and a lower cylindrical section 18 with flange 20.
- the conical section 15 serves to receive all fittings including the product outlet opening 50, the cylindrical section for receiving and sealing the rotary head 42. Since the central housing 14 can be machined, the container or bunker cone has no wall openings, particularly in the case of a double jacket or A half-pipe coil version of a dryer variant would be expensive and would always result in a dent in the container wall for welding reasons. Despite extensive straightening work, the screw distance from the container wall would have to be kept large to avoid contact. Such an increased distance would favor the formation of crusts on the container wall during drying and would significantly reduce the drying performance.
- the flange 20 of the central housing 14 is firmly connected to the gear housing by means of screws.
- gear housing 22 is designed as a worm wheel 24 supported on all sides and rotatable stored, the toothed outer surface of which engages with a drive worm 25.
- a rotary head 26 is fastened, for example screwed, on the top of the support ring 24.
- the rotary head 26 contains a lead-through housing 27 which is inclined by approximately 20 ° with respect to the longitudinal axis of the mixing container 10 and in which the worm shaft 32 is accommodated with bearings 38 and seals 40 surrounding it.
- a screw spiral 34 is fastened above the rotary head.
- the mixing screw forms, together with the rotating head 26 and the support ring 24, a rigid unit in itself, which is supported as a whole by the support ring 24 in the gear housing and rotates about the vertical central axis of both the mixing container 10 and the support ring 24, in which the mixing screw is generally guided in parallel along the conical wall of the mixing container 10.
- the top 28 of the rotary head 26 forms the lower boundary of the mixing container 10 and is concavely curved in an approximately spherical manner.
- An outer edge section 30 of the rotary head covers the mechanical seal 44 between the cylindrical outer wall 42 of the rotary head 26 and the machined inner side of the cylindrical wall section 18 of the central housing 14 and transferred into the gear housing 22 supporting it.
- the absorption of these forces is favored by the fact that the worm shaft 32, together with the bearing sleeve 48 supporting it at the lower end, move through the Support ring 24 extends so that the bearing forces of the worm shaft are introduced almost uniformly from above and below into the support ring.
- the top 28 of the rotary head which forms the bottom of the container, has a relatively large area, but on the other hand, mixed dead spaces as such are avoided by the conforming shape of the underside of the screw blades.
- the channels 46 formed on the underside according to FIG. 2 which ensure that the turret can be heated.
- a simple double jacket or an embodiment with soldered or welded heating coils can also be provided for heating the top of the rotary head.
- the casing sleeve 48 is fastened, which encapsulates the lower section of the worm shaft 32 and a bearing which is arranged at a distance from the bearing 38 supported in the bushing housing 27.
- a bevel gear 66 is wedged onto the lower end of the worm shaft 32 as a connection for the rotary drive according to FIG. 1.
- the design shown for supporting the lower end of the worm shaft and for connecting the rotary drive is not mandatory; other drive arrangements are also conceivable in order to keep the overall height of the mixer small while maintaining its capacity.
- a preferably circular housing 70 is attached to the gear housing 22, which u. a.
- the task is to encapsulate the lower bearing end of the worm shaft and the gear drive.
- a basket-shaped support can also be provided for the base plate 68 carrying the worm drive, so that the gear transmission 64, 66 is covered as a danger point.
- An output shaft 62 extends from the reduction gear 60, which is arranged in the extension of the central axis X of the mixing container 10 and, sealed with a bevel gear 64, extends through the base plate 68 into the housing 70.
- the mixing screw In the circular movement of the mixing screw introduced via the support ring 24 and the rotary head 26 fastened thereon, the mixing screw is moved in the vicinity of d. H. guided at a close distance along the inner wall of the mixing container, this circular movement being reversible or continuous only in one direction of rotation.
- a suitable circuit ensures that the drive motor 36 for the rotary drive of the screw, which always conveys the mix in the mixing container from bottom to top, is switched on beforehand.
- a preferred direction of rotation of the circular movement initiated from the support ring 24 and from the rotary head 26 is such that the reaction force exerted by the material to be mixed on the one-sided mixing screw in each case pushes it inwards from the wall of the mixing container 10, that is, pushes it away.
- a relative achieve a small distance between the screw spiral and the container wall and thus achieve intensive thorough mixing or homogeneity of the mixture and at the same time avoid the risk that the mixture is contaminated by abrasion of the screw spiral on the container wall.
- the housing 70 or also a basket-like holder for the base plate 68 serves as a safety or protective cover for the lower driven end of the mixing screw, so that moving parts which are dangerous to persons remain constantly encapsulated.
- the total height of the removable central housing 14 is designed such that when the lower part 14 is pivoted about a connection point of its upper flange 16 on the lower flange 12 of the mixing container 10, a relatively large pivoting angle can be achieved together with the mixing screw. 1 assuming that the connection point, not shown, which is uncovered by loosening the connecting screws, is not shown on the right in FIG. 1, the central housing with the mixing screw mounted therein can pivot counterclockwise into an inclined position of approximately 45 °, so that it is possible to leave the auger undivided and to pull it down from the normal work platform out of the container or to insert it into the container from below during assembly.
- a product outlet opening on the side which is normally closed by a cover 50 which is sealed on its circumference.
- the cover is 52 in with the aid of a pressure medium cylinder a longitudinal guide 54 movable for opening and closing the product outlet.
- a downwardly angled outlet duct 56 is directly connected to the longitudinal guide 54.
- one or more inspection openings 58 with devices for sampling or for measuring temperature, humidity, etc. are provided on the circumference of the conical section 15.
- FIG. 3 differs from the embodiment according to FIG. 1 in that instead of an encapsulated lower end of the worm shaft 32, its rotary drive unit 36, 60 is fastened directly to a lower flange 72 of the bearing sleeve 48. Due to this design, the drive unit 36, 60 flanged to the bearing sleeve 48 moves together with the support ring 24 and the worm shaft 32 about the vertical container axis X during mixer operation.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a cone screw mixer, preferably working simultaneously as a dryer, with a mixing container which is flared upwards, a product outlet opening arranged in the lower region of the mixing container, a connection unit connected to the lower end of the mixing container, a rotating head mounted and supported in the connection unit, in which the shaft a mixing screw projecting into the mixing container and carrying mixing blades is mounted and rotatably driven at the lower end, and with a guide member mounted in the connection unit and rotatably driven about the vertical axis of the mixing container for a circulating movement of the mixing screw along the container wall.
A mixer of the aforementioned type known from DE-OS 24 52 005 is provided with a mixing screw shaft which is guided at its lower end through a spherical bearing housing. The spherical shells of the bearing housing are held in a connection unit on the bottom of the container with the aid of receptacles in the manner of ball joint sockets with gland packings accommodated therein. Since this bearing arrangement forms the lower end of the mixing container, there is a risk that both the bearing abrasion of the worm shaft and that of the bearing housing and the joint sockets penetrate into the product located in the mixing container and contaminate it.
In a mixer of a similar type known from DE-PS 26 27 259, a rotatable bearing housing sealed with respect to the connection housing contains an upper extended section into which the blades of the mixing screw extend, while a product outlet pipe extends downward from an extended section of this bearing housing extends, which is arranged at an angle to the axis of the mixing screw. This known construction is disadvantageous insofar as a considerable construction height of up to 2 m below the lower container flange is required, within which not only the rotary drive of the worm shaft, which extends far downwards, but also a ball valve arranged under the product outlet, including a rotary tube connection, are accommodated. This rotary tube connection is necessary because the screw moves along the inclined container wall even during the product discharge time.
The invention has for its object to improve and develop a mixer or mixer dryer of the type mentioned in such a way that the height required for its operation and for its accommodation is reduced and overall a reduced construction effort is achieved. Furthermore, it should be ensured that the formation of condensate can be avoided with certainty at the lower end of the mixing container.
Die Ausflußeinheit ist als ein Zentralgehäuse mit einem die Wandung des Mischbehälters fortsetzenden oberen konischen Abschnitt, der die Produktauslaßöffnung und andere Armaturenanschlüsse der Prozeßtechnik enthält, und mit einem unteren zylindrischen Abschnitt ausgeführt;
das Führungsglied besteht aus einem außenverzahnten waagerechten Tragkranz, der in einem an der Unterseite des zylindrischen Abschnittes befestigten Getriebegehäuse geführt und gelagert ist, und durch den sich die Schneckenwelle mit dem sie umgebenden Lagergehäuse hindurch erstreckt;
According to the invention, the following measures are proposed to solve this problem:
The outflow unit is in the form of a central housing with an upper conical section continuing the wall of the mixing container and containing the product outlet opening and other process technology fittings, and executed with a lower cylindrical section;
the guide member consists of an externally toothed horizontal support ring, which is guided and mounted in a gear housing fixed to the underside of the cylindrical section, and through which the worm shaft extends with the bearing housing surrounding it;
the rotary head is fastened to the support ring and sealed with a cylindrical outer wall by a mechanical seal against the cylindrical section of the central housing.
An important aspect in reducing the overall height is that the lower, tapering end of the mixing container, which contains relatively little volume, is given up by moving the storage and sealing of the worm shaft into this now free lower container space. As a result, and through the design of a central housing connected to the lower end of the container, in one embodiment, the previous diameter of the lower outer flange of the container is now 500 mm, and this considerable saving in height is only offset by a minimal volume loss of approx. 15% .
With the central housing installed between the downwardly shortened mixing container and the lower gear housing, the advantage is achieved that this unit can be prefabricated separately from the large mixing container and pre-assembled together with the screw and the gear unit. The body of the central housing can consist of a welded or cast construction and, due to its limited dimensions, can be easily machined, z. B. the cylindrical Inner wall on a lathe receives a fit that is provided for the mechanical seal on the circumference of the rotary head. In addition, it is advantageous that in addition to the product outlet, all other openings and flanges for fittings of all types can be attached to the upper conical section of the central housing, which were previously in the jacket of the mixing container and subsequently required costly straightening work due to the deformations occurring during processing.
Another important aspect of the new design is that the rotating shaft, which is mounted on the worm shaft and sealed towards the mixing container, is attached to the top of the supporting ring, which is supported and supported in the connection housing, so that the cylindrical outer wall of the rotating head does not have to absorb any bearing forces, but only for Sealing with the opposite cylindrical section of the central housing with the interposition of mechanical seals is available.
According to a preferred embodiment, the rotary head can have a convex, relatively flat curved surface which points upward into the mixing container and forms the base of the mixing container and which is particularly suitable for avoiding mixing dead spaces.
By moving the turret with its preferably spherical surface relatively far up into the mixing container, this surface contains a relatively large extent, which is determined, for example, by approximately twice the diameter of the mixing screw.
Of importance for the stability of the bearing of the mixing screw and also for the space-saving, compact structure of the bearing and seal within the rotary head is the fact that the rotary head is fixedly arranged on the support ring and the relatively large diameter support ring has favorable bearing and support properties in the gear housing finds. The bearing ring surrounding the lower end of the screw shaft with its bearing is readily able to absorb the considerable bearing and supporting forces of the mixing screw processed by the product.

- 3 shows a variant of the embodiment from FIG. 1.
The lower region of the
The
The
It can be seen that the
On the underside of the
In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, a preferably
In the circular movement of the mixing screw introduced via the
A preferred direction of rotation of the circular movement initiated from the
Nimmt man bzgl. The total height of the removable
By raising the
The variant shown in FIG. 3 differs from the embodiment according to FIG. 1 in that instead of an encapsulated lower end of the
