Die Beheizung eines derartigen Trockners erfolgt in der Regel über das Gehäuse und die Mischschnecke. Die zur Trocknung des Produkts benötigte Wärme wird durch Kontakt mit den Heizflächen des Gehäuses und der Mischschnecke in das Produkt eingebracht. Zusätzlich besteht beim Mischertrockner die Möglichkeit, Energie über Mikrowellen in das Produkt einzubringen, in welchem sie in Wärme umgesetzt wird. Nach der Europäischen Patentanmeldung 0 306 563 ist ein Kegelmischertrockner bekannt, bei dem die Mischerschnecke mittels eines zentrisch im Deckel angeordneten Antriebs über einen Winkelhebel von oben her angetrieben wird. Zwischen dem Antrieb und weiteren im Deckel angeordneten Einbauteilen ist ein als Magnetron bezeichneter Mikrowellengenerator vorgesehen, durch welches das im Mischertrockner zu trocknende Gut mit Mikrowellen beaufschlagt wird.Such a dryer is usually heated via the housing and the mixing screw. In vorteilhafter Ausbildung der Erfindung ist zwischen dem Mischbehälter und dem Deckel ein zylindrischer Zwischenring vorgesehen, an dem ein oder mehrere Magnetrone angeordnet sind. Der Zwischenring ermöglicht ohne Behinderung oder Einengung der auf dem Deckel angeordneten Teile, wie Eintragstutzen, Brüdenfilter und Schaugläser, die Anbringung beliebig vieler über den Behälterumfang verteilter Magnetrone. Auf diese Weise kann eine gezielte und besonders intensive Beaufschlagung des Produkts mit Mikrowellen erfolgen. Um eine besonders gute Verteilung der Strahlung zu erreichen, kann die Mikrowellenbeaufschlagung vorteilhaft über ein oder mehrere Magnetrone und Koaxialleitungen erfolgen, wodurch die Anzahl der Magnetrone verringert werden kann.
