Description

The invention relates to a drinking vessel or the like. Household item, with a preferably made of glass upper part or a preferably metallic base, the upper part a pin and the foot a collet containing a collet with a tapered outer contour for releasable attachment of the upper part to the foot have, the collet is connected to a threaded pin shaft and a clamping nut is provided on the thread, and the clamping sleeve can be axially retracted into a region of the foot by means of the clamping nut.

Drinking vessels of this type, for example drinking glasses, with a high-quality metal base are known. Previously, an adhesive connection was used to connect the glass chalice to the metal base. However, an adhesive bond between glass and metal does not offer sufficient strength, especially if such drinking vessels are cleaned more frequently in a dishwasher. Another disadvantage of the adhesive bond between the glass goblet and the metal base is that if the glass goblet is damaged, the metal base must also be thrown away. Similar problems exist with comparable household objects with a metal base and glass top, as is the case, for example, with candlesticks, flower vases or the like. For this reason, the invention also extends to such objects.

A drinking vessel with the features mentioned above is known, for example, from FR-A-531 097 and has a cylindrical clamping sleeve which comprises a pin of the upper part. Due to the round design of the clamping sleeve and the pin, there is a risk that the upper part of the drinking vessel can rotate with respect to the foot, especially if the clamping sleeve is not too tight. In addition, there is also the problem that the clamping sleeve with a tapered outer contour is drawn into the cylindrical tube when the clamping nut is pulled in. Since the head-side inner wall of the cylindrical tube encompasses the clamping sleeve in the form of a ring, high compressive forces are exerted on the pin of the upper part of the drinking vessel in the area of this contact line when the clamping nut is tightened, which, if the clamping device is handled carelessly, leads to destruction of the upper part of the drinking vessel during fixing can lead the foot.

Another drinking vessel is known from FR-A-541 774, which has an upper part made of glass or the like. Fragile material and a metal base. A pin is formed on the upper part, which is held on the metal base by means of a collet. The collet grips the pin or passes through the chuck with a hook-shaped section arranged at its upper end a passage opening formed in the pin in such a way that considerable tensile forces are exerted on the pin when the upper part and foot are braced. However, glass is very sensitive to tensile loads. Overuse leads to tearing, so that damage can easily occur during tensioning. Since only moderate tensioning can take place, there is also the risk of loosening, so that the upper part on the Metal foot wobbles. Finally, there is also the problem with this drinking vessel that the upper part can twist with respect to the foot when braced and also afterwards.

In contrast, the invention is based on the object of developing a drinking vessel or the like. Household item of the type mentioned in such a way that the upper part and the foot can be connected to one another in a simple manner in a detachable but secure manner without tensile stresses and non-rotatably.

This object is essentially achieved in that the pin is out of round, that is, with a clear deviation from the circular shape, for example polygonal, and the clamping sleeve has a non-circular, corresponding to the pin, clearly different from the circular shape, for example polygonal, inner contour and the Area of the foot have a conical inner contour corresponding to the adapter sleeve. Characterized in that the pin outside and the clamping sleeve inside each other are formed correspondingly out of round with a clear deviation from the circular shape, a secure, non-rotatable fixing of the upper part on the foot is ensured even with low clamping force of the clamping sleeve. By the measure that the area of the foot into which the clamping sleeve is drawn during clamping by means of the clamping nut has a conical inner contour which corresponds to the conical outer contour of the clamping sleeve, a uniform introduction of force is achieved during clamping over the entire pin covered by the clamping sleeve guaranteed of the upper part. This largely prevents possible damage to the pin or the upper part while it is being fastened to the foot. Since the collet can bridge a large diameter range, the diameter tolerance can be reduced of the cone. This leads to a considerable simplification in the manufacture. As a result, the drinking vessel according to the invention or the like. Household item is inexpensive to manufacture. Collets are cheap, mass-produced items and therefore not a major cost factor in manufacturing. The clamping effect achieved by the collet is very large, so that the upper part is securely and firmly connected to the foot after tightening. Finally, with the drinking vessel or the like. Household item according to the invention, the selected design can be retained or simply exchanged for corresponding parts of another design.

In one embodiment of the invention it is provided that the collet is arranged in the foot and the upper part projects into the foot with the pin. This space-saving arrangement ensures an aesthetic appearance.

The conical region of the foot is expediently formed by the upper section of a hollow foot stem.

Tightening of the collet is achieved in a simple manner in that the clamping nut is arranged in a base plate or is formed by the base plate.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the clamping nut is formed by a section of the foot handle. The advantage of this arrangement is that the base plate, clamping nut and foot stem are made in one piece and thus the assembly is simplified.

The tongs handle is expediently arranged in the handle bore of the foot handle. The forceps handle serves as a pull and Connecting element of the clamping sleeve and clamping screw.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the pliers handle is equipped with a thread at its end opposite the clamping sleeve. Due to the clamping screw, which is also equipped with a thread, the clamping sleeve can therefore be easily tightened and the pin of the upper part clamped.

Depending on the desired shape of the drinking vessel, a spacer sleeve can be arranged between the foot handle and the upper part. The length of the collet must of course be adjusted accordingly.

The foot or the spacer sleeve and the upper part are advantageously sealed off from one another by a sealing element. This seal prevents the penetration of liquid into the hollow footstalk, for example, when carelessly pouring beverages or rinsing.

To make tightening the collet easier, the clamping nut has a slot in its bottom surface. For example, the nut can be tightened in a simple manner with the help of a coin or a workpiece.

To facilitate centering when clamping the upper part with the aid of the collet, the foot handle and foot plate and / or foot handle and spacer sleeve are supported on one another via a centering shoulder.

The collet advantageously consists of plastic or aluminum and is therefore particularly inexpensive to manufacture and has a low weight.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing.

The drinking vessel 2 from FIG. 1 has an upper part 4 designed as a goblet and a foot 8. The cup 4 is preferably made of glass, but other materials can also be used, while the foot 8 is preferably made of metal, with the possibility of using other materials. The cup 4 is fastened to the foot 8 by means of a collet 10. With this collet attachment, there is the possibility of using a multiplicity of cups 4 of different sizes and shapes, as shown in FIG. 1, on a foot 8 of the same size and shape. Conversely, different feet 8 can also be equipped with the same goblets 4. If a chalice 4 is damaged, it can simply be exchanged for a new one.

The collet 10 is arranged in the handle bore 32 of a hollow foot handle 30 of the foot 8. 1 has an approximately the same wall thickness over its entire length and is arched conically outwards at both ends. With its upper end, the foot stem 30 rests against the cup 4, while at its lower end it stands on a centering shoulder 50 of a foot plate 46 of the foot 8.

The collet 10 has a collet 12 and a collet handle 14 connected to it with a thread 16 at the end opposite the collet 12, which protrudes through a bore 48 into the base plate 46. In the embodiment 1, the collet 10 is tightened via a clamping nut 52 arranged in the base plate 46 with a threaded bore 54, which has a slot 56 in its base for engagement with a tool or a coin. When the clamping nut 52 is tightened, the externally conical clamping sleeve 12 lies in a correspondingly conical area inside the foot handle 30. The clamping sleeve 12 of the collet 10 has a contour on the inside corresponding to the pin 6 of the cup 4. In its upper region, the clamping sleeve 12 is divided by slots 20 into, for example, four sleeve wings 18 which form a sleeve opening 22 for receiving the pin 6. When the clamping sleeve 12 is axially drawn into the conical region 9, the pin 6 is consequently clamped firmly in the collet 10 and the cup 4 is thereby held firmly but releasably in the base 8. To seal the cup 4 against the foot 8, a sealing element 28, for example in the form of a sealing ring, is arranged in the upper region of the foot stem 30.
