Das zylindrische Stück des Ballonhalses zwischen α und b besitzt den gleichen Durchmesser wie die Gewindefassung. Wenn die Tülle c des Reflektors d den gleichen Durchmesser wie der zylindrische Absatz des Ballons zwischen α und b besitzt, so kann der Reflektor mit seiner zentralen Tülle dicht über dem Gewindesockel übergeschoben werden und eine weitere Befestigung des Reflektors an dem Glühlampenballon ist nicht mehr erforderlich, andernfalls aber kann die Befestigung noch dadurch gesichert werden, daß auf das Edisongewinde noch ein nach Art der Uberwurfsmuttern ausgestalteter Isolierring e mit Gewinde übergeschraubt wird, dessen unterer Teil über die zylindrische Tülle des Reflektors übergreift.
