Claims (6)

  1. Device for protecting and/or supporting an article made of expanded polystyrene or of a similar material consisting of the assembly of at least two members (e₁, e₂) each having a part shaped like a comb whose teeth (15, 16) are provided with means which make possible the joining and maintaining together of two of the said members (e₁, e₂) merely by bringing close and interlocking a comb-shaped part of one member and the comb-shaped part of the other, characterized in that in order to hold the said two members (e₁, e₂) together against a possible separation by movement in a direction opposite to that which has brought about their junction, the assembly makes use of arranged reliefs, manufactured at the same time as the moulding or by subsequent shaping, on the side faces (17, 18 ; 19, 20) of the comb teeth (15, 16) which are transverse to the lenthwise direction of the member and which are intended to interact with each other on two adjacent members (e₁, e₂).
  2. Device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the reliefs are corrugations (Figure 5).
  3. Device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the reliefs are ridges whose cross-section is slightly like a saw blade or a fishbone (Figure 4).
  4. Device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the assembly of two members (e₁, e₂) makes use of the elasticity of the material of which they are made and of the shape of the teeth which, seen from above, have a slight undercut (α) on each of their side faces intended to interact with the conjugate side faces of an adjacent member (Figure 6).
  5. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that each members (e₁, e₂) is substantially in the shape of an L-crosssectioned angle piece one of whose arms has the teeth (15, 16) for assembly with the other angle piece comprising means for holding the two members together and whose other arm is solid, the device thus being, after assembly, substantially in the shape of a U-crosssectionned gutter.
  6. Device according to claim 5, characterized in that it is made from members (e₁, e₂) with a unit length of approximately 1200 mm, a thickness of 25 mm and with teeth and intertooth spaces from 40 to 60 mm in width.
