Description

The invention relates to an antenna with a parabolic reflector and at least one feed line, at the free end of which an exciter is attached, in which in a central opening of the reflector the feed plate, which surrounds the opening as a rigid, tubular metal component and closes the opening, is attached (U.S. Patent 3,864,688).

Antennas with a parabolic reflector are used, for example, for directional radio, satellite radio or radio location. They can be used to illuminate the reflector directly or to illuminate it via a subreflector (Cassegrain principle). "Illumination" is intended to encompass both directions of transmission of the electromagnetic waves, that is to say both waves to be emitted and waves to be received. Exciters are used for illumination, which are arranged at the free end of at least one feed line. "Exciters" can be, for example, dipole exciters or polarization switches in which two or more electromagnetic waves can be guided. "Exciter" can also be the appropriately shaped free end of a feed line. The feed line can be a coaxial line or a waveguide.

In the known antenna according to the above-mentioned US Pat. No. 3,864,688, two rectangular waveguides are fastened as feed lines by means of the holding plate in the opening of the reflector. For this purpose, the holding plate has two openings which are widened in the form of a sleeve, each of which receives a waveguide. Details of the attachment of the holding plate to the reflector are not to be found in US Pat. No. 3,864,688. To set the optimal position of the exciter attached to the end of the feed lines, this known construction requires a relatively large amount of effort, since the feed lines with exciter must be held in such a way that the holding plate in the reflector can be rotated easily without tilting. This applies both to the initial installation of the pathogen and to a later change. There is often a desire to be able to turn the holding plate in the reflector by 360 °.

The invention has for its object to provide an antenna with a parabolic reflector and a feed line fastened in a holding plate with exciter, which enables easy rotation of the holding plate without tilting.

This object is achieved in the case of an antenna of the type described at the outset in accordance with the invention in that a ring is attached to the reflector which surrounds the circular disk,
- That in the peripheral surface of the holding plate at least one groove extending in the circumferential direction is attached and
- That in the ring at least three 120 ° offset in the circumferential direction and extending in the radial direction pins are arranged which engage in the mounting position of the holding plate in the groove.

In the mounting position of the holding plate, the pins protrude into the groove of the holding plate, so that the latter is fixed in the axial direction. This position is so stable by the pins that the feed line with the exciter connected, which projects essentially from one side of the holding plate, cannot tilt or tilt the holding plate. The holding plate is therefore easily rotatable in the circumferential direction after loosening any additional fasteners that may be present. The exciter can then be turned into the position required for optimal transmission of the electromagnetic waves without great effort.

In Fig. 1, an antenna with a parabolic reflector 1 and a feed line 2 attached to the same is shown schematically. In this case, the feed line 2 projects centrally through the reflector 1. It is so bent that one its free end is located exciter 3 with its opening approximately in the focus of the reflector 1. For additional mounting of the feed line 2 or the exciter 3, clamping elements 4 can be used, which are attached to the reflector 1. For example, four clamping elements 4, each offset by 90 °, can be used. The feed line 2 can be a waveguide or a coaxial cable. It is equipped at its connection end with a high-frequency flange 5 for connecting further lines.

In order to lead the feed line 2 through the reflector 1, it has a central opening 6. A holding plate 7 is arranged in the opening 6, in which the feed line 2 is fixed, for example by brazing. The holding plate 7 is preferably made of metal, such as aluminum or stainless steel. For their axial fixing, a metal ring 8 is attached to the reflector 1, which surrounds the holding plate 7 all around. In the ring 8 pins 9 are attached, which extend in the radial direction and engage in at least one groove 10 of the holding plate 7 when the latter is mounted on the reflector 1. There are at least three pins 9 offset from one another by 120 °. To fix the holding plate 7 on the reflector 1, further fastening elements can be used, which are not shown for the sake of simplicity.

The holding plate 7 can be rotated in the opening 6 of the reflector 1 in the circumferential direction if any fastening elements and the clamping elements 4 are loosened. The pins 9 protruding into the groove 10 prevent the holding plate 7 from tilting or tilting. The groove 10 can be circumferential, so that the holding plate 7 could be rotated 360 ° in the reflector 1. If such a complete rotation is not required, the groove 10 can, according to the 5 can also be divided into three separate sections which are offset by 120 ° from one another. These sections each lie in the area of a pin 9, so that, for example, the holding plate 7 can be rotated through an angle of 120 °. With a larger number of pins 9, the groove 10 could also be divided into more than three sections.

If the holding plate 7 is made wide enough in the area enclosed by the ring 8, two grooves 10 and 11 can also be provided next to one another in the holding plate 7, as shown in FIG. 6. Even then, the grooves 10 and 11 can be divided into sections. The pins 9 are to be arranged in the ring 8 in two planes.

The pins 9 are adjustable in the radial direction. For this purpose, they can be provided with a thread in their area lying in the ring 8. If the material of the holding plate 7 is sufficiently stable, the pins 9 can in principle also be used to fix the holding plate 7 when they are pressed sufficiently firmly against the bottom of the groove 10. For the rotation of the holding plate 7, the pins 9 would then have to be turned outward until they lift off the bottom of the groove 10.
