Das Pedal 1 für ein Kraftfahrzeug umfaßt im wesentlichen einen Pedalarm 2 mit einer Trittplatte 3 und einem Federhebel 4. Es besteht aus Kunststoff und wird einstückig im Spritzgußverfahren aus einem glasfaserverstärkten Polyamid hergestellt.The
Der Pedalarm 2 besteht aus einem Hohlprofil z.B. rechteckförmigen Querschnitts, das sich vom vorderen Armende 5 mit der Trittplatte 3 bis zum hinteren Armende 6 mit dem Federhebel 4 erstreckt. Der Arm 2 umfaßt zwei Abschnitte 9, 10, die sich bis zu einer Abknickung 7 jeweils von den Armenden 5 und 6 ausgehend verjungen. Im zusammentreffenden Bereich dieser beiden Abschnitte 5 und 6 ist im Inneren des Hohlprofils eine umlaufende Innenrippe 8 gebildet. Diese Ausbildung des Pedalarmes 2 ergibt einerseits im Bereich großer Belastungen einen relativ großen Querschnitt des Pedalarmes und andererseits kann das Pedal 1 mittels zweier Kerne hergestellt werden, die jeweils eine Länge bis zur Rippe 8 aufweisen und hier ineinandergesteckt sind. Wie insbesondere die Figuren 3 und 4 zeigen, sind die Wandungen des Hohlprofils durchgehend von annähernd gleicher Dicke und außen- sowie innenseitig weitestgehend glattflächig ausgeführt, wobei die Außenfläche Rippungen sowie Anformungen aufweisen kann.The
Der erste Abschnitt 9 des Pedalarmes 2 weist an seinem hinteren Armende 6 einen Federhebel 4 auf, der abgewinkelt zum gestreckten Pedalarm 2 angeordnet ist. Dieser ist im Querschnitt U-profilförmig ausgeführt und weist zwischen seinen Schenkeln 11 und 12 (Fig. 7) quer verlaufende Verstärkungsrippen 13, 14 auf, wobei zwischen der Rippe 14 und einer Rückwand 15 des Hohlprofils eine quer verlaufende Lagerbohrung 16 angeordnet ist. Diese ist in an einer Seitenwand 17, 17a des Pedalarmes 2 angeformten Hülse 18 fortgeführt, welche durch radiale Verstärkungsrippen 19 zum Pedalarm 2 hin abgestützt ist.The

Claims (7)
- A pedal (1) for a motor vehicle, in particular a clutch pedal, of plastics material, comprising a foot plate (3) integral with the pedal arm at the front end and a spring lever (4) with bearing bores (16) at the remote rear end, characterized in that- the pedal arm (2) comprises a hollow profile of polygonal cross-section having walls (15, 17 and 24) of substantially equal thickness and made in part with smooth surfaces on the outside and inside, and- a first portion (9) tapers inwardly from the bearing bores (16) at the rear end (6) of the arm and a second portion (10) tapers inwardly from the foot plate (3) at the front end (5) of the arm as far as a bend (7).
- A pedal according to Claim 1, characterized in that the foot plate (3) forms part of the front end wall (24) of the hollow profile to which are attached reinforcement ribs (22) arranged one above the other on the side wall (17) and extending longitudinally with respect to the direction of travel F and connected to the foot plate (3).
- A pedal according to one or more of the preceding Claims, characterized in that the first portion (9) of the pedal arm (2) has a transversely extending bearing bore (20) for a master cylinder associated with an insertion opening (21) in the rear wall (15) of the hollow profile.
- A pedal according, to one or more of the preceding Claims, characterized in that the spring lever (4) comprises a support which is U-shaped in cross-section and which comprises reinforcement ribs (13, 14) extending transversely between its legs (11, 12), and the bearing bore (16) is provided between one reinforcement rib (14) and the rear wall (15) of the hollow profile and continues on a side wall (17, 17a) in a sleeve (18) comprising radial reinforcement ribs (19) supported on the side wall (17).
- A pedal according to one or more of the preceding Claims, characterized in that the transition of the first portion (9) of the pedal arm (2) to the angled spring lever (4) and the transition to the second portion (10) each have a rounded portion (25, 26).
- A pedal according to one or more of the preceding Claims, characterized in that a continuous internal rib (8) is provided in the hollow profile in the region of the bend (7).
- A pedal according to one or more of the preceding Claims, characterized in that the hollow profile of the pedal arm (2) is open at each of its free ends (5, 6), and the front arm end (5) carrying the foot plate (3) is constructed in cross-section as a U-section, the web (23) of which forms part of the foot plate (3), the arms (27 and 28) constituting side walls of the hollow profile.
