Definitions
- the present invention relates to a ski boot consisting of a lower part comprising the sole and surrounding the foot and the heel and of a rod consisting of a collar articulated on the lower part and of a tilting hood in the shape of a caliper extending below the collar and above the heel and also articulated on the lower part below the articulation of the collar, the collar and the cover being connected by a connecting device extending in a vertical plane and the ends of which are articulated respectively on the collar and on the tilting hood, and comprising means for locking the tilting hood on the lower part of the shoe so as to limit the degree of bending of the upper in the down position by the intermediary of the connecting device.
- document EP-A-0 206 394 discloses a ski boot comprising a rod articulated on a bottom of the shell and having, at the rear, a rectangular cutout in which an elastic element is supported. against a stop integral with the shell, so that this elastic element is compressed between the lower edge of the cutout of the rod and the stop during bending in front of the rod.
- the elastic element made of incompressible material, works in expansion in a movable sheath making it possible to modify the length of the part likely to expand and hence the degree of bending of the rod.
- the present invention aims to introduce into the binding device of a shoe of the type defined above, means for improving and adjusting the flexibility of the shoe in forward bending.
- the shoe according to the invention is defined by claim 1.
- the elastic element is a rubber block surrounded by a sliding sleeve making it possible to modify the length of the part of the rubber block capable of deforming in expansion and consequently determining the elasticity. of the link.
- the elastic element is more or less precompressed by a precompression nut.
- Figure 1 is a longitudinal vertical sectional view of a shoe equipped with a variable elasticity connecting device according to a first embodiment.
- FIG. 2 is a detail view showing the connection device used in FIG. 1.
- Figure 3 is a detail view similar to that of Figure 2 showing a second embodiment of the connecting device.
- the shoe shown in FIG. 1 is similar to the shoe shown and described in patent application EP 0 286 586. It consists of a shell bottom 1 comprising the sole and surrounding the foot and the heel and further having a tongue 2 extending upwards above the heel, and a rod consisting of a collar 3 articulated at 30 on the bottom of the shell 1 and a stirrup-shaped cover 4 extending just at the above the heel and articulated in 5 on the shell bottom 1 below the articulation of the collar 3.
- the collar 3 and the cover 4 are connected by a connecting device 6 articulated at its upper end by an axis 7 to the collar 3 and at its lower end by an axis 8 to the cover 4.
- the collar is provided with at least one loop 9 for tightening around the ankle.
- the cover 4 comprises a pawl 10 in the form of a rocker cooperating with a stop 11 secured to the bottom of the shell 1 to lock the rod in the descent position.
- Figure 2 shows the connecting device 6 on a larger scale and in axial half-section. It comprises a head 12 crossed by the axis 7, a screw 13 screwed on the one hand in the head 12 and on the other hand in a piston 14, the parts screwed respectively in the head 12 and in the piston 14 being of pitch opposite, the middle part of the screw having a drive wheel 15.
- the connecting device 6 further comprises a cylinder 16 attached to the axis 8, in which the piston 14 is mounted, a rubber block 17 in the form of cylindrical sleeve fitted on the hub 18 of the piston 14 and a metallic cylindrical sleeve 19 slidingly mounted between the cylinder 16 on the one hand and the piston 14 and the rubber block 17 on the other hand.
- the inner section of the sleeve 19 is approximately identical to the outer section of the rubber block 17, but it can slide with little or no friction on the rubber.
- the cylindrical sleeve 19 is provided with a button 20, shown in dotted lines, intended for driving the cylinder 19 by hand.
- the button 20 is connected to the cylinder 19 by a part of rectangular section 21 rotatably mounted on the cylinder 19.
- the cylinder 16 has a longitudinal slot 22 allowing the button 20 to move along the cylinder 16.
- the slot 22 is made up of circular parts connected by narrowing, so that the button 20 can occupy several discrete positions. It will however be possible to provide for continuous adjustment.
- the sleeve 19 surrounds a more or less long part of the rubber 17 and consequently determines the length of the part of the rubber 17 liable to deform in expansion. The longer this part, the greater the elasticity of the bond.
- the rubber being incompressible, the connection is practically rigid when the rubber is completely surrounded by the sleeve 19.
- the rubber could be replaced by any other incompressible elastic material.
- the screw 13 obviously makes it possible to modify the distance between the axes 7 and 8, that is to say to modify the inclination of the upper of the shoe. However, it would of course be possible to replace the screw 13 with a link of invariable length.
- connection device On the axis 7 is mounted a head 23 similar to the head 12, head in which is screwed a threaded rod 24 integral with a piston 25 mounted in a cylinder 26 attached to the axis 8. Above the piston 25 is mounted a rubber sleeve 27 capable of being compressed by a precompression nut 28 mounted on the threaded rod 24 and exerting a precompression on the rubber 27 by l 'through a washer 29.
- the rubber 27 or any incompressible elastic material could be replaced by a helical spring. Precompression of the spring has the same effect as precompression of rubber.
- the precompression of the elastic element 27 reveals a clearance between the washer 29 and the bottom of the cylinder 26a. This play can be made up by screwing the threaded rod 24 into the head 23.
- the threaded rod 24 could be replaced by an opposite pitch screw similar to the screw 13 in Figure 2, so as to obtain a variable length connection.
